Your ability to evaluate picks in the context of the cards already drafted and do so with a theme in mind, a method of winning, and what the deck "wants to do" must be a part of your success. I tried to pause and guess the pick and multiple times you went a different direction with a mindful explanation. Nice.
I think the reason the math was off was because you look at four cards but only put 4 in the bottom of your library if you whiff, and 3 if you hit. (and iirc you hit all times you looked with the rallier). Sorry if youre getting inundated by explanations =)
I was excited about the overrun!! I love the foundation green so thank you for the best video ever! BTW I studied limited with your videos and competed in a limited tournament in Japan! I lost in the process, but it was fun! Thanks to you from Japan!!!
The reason i love watching you draft paul is always; i scream at your picks, then watch you play those picks and go, "damn thats a good idea! Maybe i can win more games doing that type of stuff!"
hi Paul, crashjonaw here!!! huge fannn of your channel :) thoroughly enjoyed my game with you; halfway through, i notice im playing against HAUMPH and I'm like omggggg! Cheers mate (: see you in pioneer masters drafts ^^
Initially disappointed it’s another FDN, but I really enjoyed the vid. This is what Richard Garfield envisioned Magic to be - monsters and tricks. Honestly, I was expecting a 4-3 draft with a GW deck, but those snarespinner and rallier carried big time in late games. Nice draft, very disciplined. Learning a lot!
Green confirmed - GOOD??? The punt with the gnarlid colony worked out I think in part because you had a llanowar up and it could've been colossal growth, but that was scary!
2 claws out is a lot but I think the decision point where you picked felidar savior over quilled great worm was the signal to go for it. Small and wide cats YOLO!
Dear Paul, Apologies for the delay in this comment, but hopefully it will still be useful for your upcoming work with Foundations. Green's relative weakness in this format comes from its not having great common plays at every step of the curve. Turn 1 Llanowar Elves is of course a gift, but your best followup at common is ... Beast Kin Ranger? Gnarlid Colony? Wary Thespian? 2/3 or 3/2 with upside, 3/4 with upside, 4/4 with upside, etc. just doesn't exist. Neither do we have the value oriented pickups like Centipede / District Guide / Sarulf's Packmate / Elvish Visionary (SERIOUSLY - how no Visionary in a draft with elf theme). Even then, as a supporting colour, green can be very strong. Bushwhack is quite great - think of it as an MDFC land that fixes your colours or kills stuff. The signpost uncommons are quite strong too - Ruby, Warden of the Cycle, Good Fortune Unicorn, Tatyova are all excellent. Just need to find the lane, and use the other colour to provide the backbone to the curve (they really did green dirty there - green is supposed to be master of overstatted curve. Where are my Magnigoth Sentries?). Even by itself green has some great uncommons. Apologies once again for the length of this, and of course, absolutely incredible to watch the Cheon master at work.
Why not play Gnarlid Colony at @23:59? Because it could be played next turn as a 4/4? But at the expense of not playing Rallier and Elves. Edit: wow, you answered me live @24:35. You're incredible.
What do you think of Banishing light and when they sac to remove it use the pup to get it back and play it again? With 9 mana we can do it all in one turn, although we are screwed if they do it at end step i suppose
undervaluing juggernaut forced to trigger Morbid at worst, 4 power matters, etc. Has been really good in my green decks 4 drop decent filler and gruul ended up being open
I have splashed the Animist in a mono-black deck, and it won me a bunch of games, I dont think that card should be passed if one is in either of its colors.
Wow what a draft, green white archetype apparently is combat math. I don't know why you didn't do the math on claws out being lethal, with colony you could give many things trample. Or alternative gain enough life so ghalta alone doesn't kill you. Other comments already said about why rallier math was wrong.
The wolf thing was awesome!

Admittedly I just wanted to try and draft something "different" this time around which could also have led to me making different picks than usual.
Math isn't for blockers, math is for squad ralliers
I think the reason the math was off was because you look at four cards but only put 4 in the bottom of your library if you whiff, and 3 if you hit. (and iirc you hit all times you looked with the rallier). Sorry if youre getting inundated by explanations =)
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Bad math 😔
Yep great callout. Was a big mistake on my part and I needed to pay better attention to that.
yep!
I was excited about the overrun!! I love the foundation green so thank you for the best video ever!
BTW I studied limited with your videos and competed in a limited tournament in Japan!
I lost in the process, but it was fun!
Thanks to you from Japan!!!
Welcome from the USA!
As always, Snarespinner putting in so much work when more then half of the decks you will see are just a bunch of flyers.
Hey paul, I just want to say thanks for these daily videos. As a new father struggling to stay awake during long nights, these videos are a life saver
Thanks for watching!
The discipline you had to not take the greatwurm and the herald in P3 was insane
Discipline or absolute madness? Wurm is an insane bomb and felidar probably wheels. BUT maybe I'm just bias for the wurmy boy
@@massqueraider Felidar should in no way wheel. White is one of the best colors and very frequently drafted and Felidar is a top common.
The reason i love watching you draft paul is always; i scream at your picks, then watch you play those picks and go, "damn thats a good idea! Maybe i can win more games doing that type of stuff!"
hah!
Dogs, cats and gnarlids living together! Mass hysteria!
hi Paul, crashjonaw here!!! huge fannn of your channel :) thoroughly enjoyed my game with you; halfway through, i notice im playing against HAUMPH and I'm like omggggg! Cheers mate (: see you in pioneer masters drafts ^^
Cheers!
bluffing attack with the 4/4 into the 5/5 serra angel, removing the commando that way to enable banishing light, master class! :)
I wasn’t yelling cause I had zero clue 😂😂

Scrolled down to see if the first comment was about the wolf.... not disappointed :D
2 claws out is a lot but I think the decision point where you picked felidar savior over quilled great worm was the signal to go for it. Small and wide cats YOLO!
What I've learned from watching Paul is to play UB, BW, and GW. Jokes aside, I love your content!
Glad you enjoy!
36:33 I feel like they put Ambush wolf in this format just so people can make this play
I would have conceded
Dear Paul,

The pup actually seemed fairly decent in this deck! Still not great, but the most playable I've seen
Rec Sage says “you may” so you don’t have to destroy your own stuff if there’s no target on the other side of the board.
Awesome ambush wolf play
TY!
1:01:40 insane board state

45:10 even if they whiff and you draw overrun it's 1 off 🥴
Have you been taking those art classes? Because it looked like you were drawing significantly better
hah!
GG
BEST content creator. Except when U beat me...
undervaluing juggernaut forced to trigger Morbid at worst, 4 power matters, etc. Has been really good in my green decks 4 drop decent filler and gruul ended up being open
juggernaut is extremely bad imo. will almost never take or play it. so many better options
I have splashed the Animist in a mono-black deck, and it won me a bunch of games, I dont think that card should be passed if one is in either of its colors.
i think the card is good but not worth going 3 colors in a more streamlined deck
Wow what a draft, green white archetype apparently is combat math.

It's funny how LR is about eating your veggies and here you are, eating your 🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦 =D (/jk)
Regrower pup loop new meta?
Are you planning to run some more Pioneer masters draft?
yes!
Where is pioneer masters ):
very soon! got one tomorrow!
Yeah I’d rather play foundations too lol. Pioneer Masters is great for bringing new cards for Arena, not so great for limited.
It's not monogreen
No consideration of inspiring call?
A little too situational for my taste
