- I've always wanted to play with Inspiration From Beyond but never found the right shell for it. Well the wait is now over as we brewed up something very special that allowed us to take full advantage out of everything the card can offer. Spells + Inspiration From Beyond + Tolarian Terror = Profit

One specific thing ive picked up from watching your videos is organizing while drafting. Has helped me immensely with vizualising creature/other ratio with arenas clunky interface
glad I could help!
“Ah, you think the control mirror is your ally? You merely adopted the control mirror. I was born in it, molded by it.” -Paul Cheon
Skeleton beeing MVP in that 58:00 moment, love it
I for one really appreciate you sticking with the FDN, Paul. Especially now that most content creators I see have moved to PIO.
Yeah I'm trying to juggle the two and I'm not entirely sure what people want to see!
that first game was BRUTAL lol, you had all the answers ✅
As soon as you picked consuming aberration, I knew it was going on the chopping block for cuts lol
I think it was still the right decision though, for some reason people really overvalue that card.
Paul knew it too.
Paul, your commentary cracks me up!
40:46 very good magic was played here
In no world would I have ever accounted for the luminous rebuke on the mystic you’re insane
Disciplined taking the baked into a pie over solemn pack 2 pick 1. I have problems passing solemn, but you’re the pro and it was most likely the correct choice
I'm shocked you didn't play Aberration. That card is really good imo!
1:01:30 brutal angel play
Oh, that soul read :D
I think you're right to take the Mystic there. I know it's a different color, but because removal is so good in this format, I really like a card where you can set it up such that even if it gets removed, you still get value, plus its upside is definitely higher. It can really take over a game.
I love your content Paul. I won my first draft with your videos.
Nice work!
15 seconds waiting in line: "Wow what a short line that went by real quick"
15 seconds conversation: "That was quick, I wanted to say more"
15 seconds commercial: "Oooooh my gaaawd this is taking for ever!!"
"A pair of Tolarian Terrors"
me: Tolarian Pairers
I trophied with the consuming aberration once, because green and red opponents simply cannot kill a 20/20 creature, but it does annoys me that it increases the chance of your opponent drawing spells in the late game, since it stops after milling a land. Sometimes it just mills a land and stops, which feels horrible, simply helping your opponent to get better draws.
Same chance to draw a spell on average. Sometimes it will mill just a land - other times a bunch of spells first.
@@danielbrooks4831 If you're lucky, it will mill several spells first, mill a land and there will be a giant land pocket after. But a 17 lands deck have 42% lands, which is a very high chance to find a land first and, after this one was milled, increase significantly the chances of finding a spell after. That's one of the reasons why this card have a significantly low win rate regardless of how powerful it can be if you're lucky.
If it this effect was in the early game, cutting your opponent's land drops would be crazy powerful, but in the late game it benefits your opponents.
I think the block at 46:37 cost you that game, the only good play they could have had was an Overrun - I think you were putting way more pressure than them with the two terrors and a hand full of renewal,. on the followup attack you'd have put them to 5, or they had to chump block with their elf - you could have also kept one tolarian up just in case and smack them later for lethal. when I see simic in this format I just insta go either to Simone or Koma :). also paradoxically while using eaten alive for 5 was a good use of mana, eaten alive sac would have allowed you to kill the koma later. man this game sometimes really do comes down to very difficult choices
hey just throwing out a vote for pioneer Masters content over foundations. just can't get very interested in watching any more of this format. just my two cents, thanks as always for the great content either way.
Wtf how dare you tease me with the aberration only to cut it :( especially after the 'I want to have all the fun'. Actually most brutal anime betrayal
Hey haumpf :)
Feels like @1:07:30 there was a bluff attack / fake your own death doable ?
I know working at WOTC was a good decision for you but man I really missed watching your content.
UG being so bad / so few players playing it, it feels like when someone plays UG, they very often have zimone and/or koma ;
Seems doable to play around it, it didnt costed much
(Ild agree with u if UG was a good archetype like WB or UB)
Congrats on your Koma. (Concede)..ugh I hate that card, too
No more pioneer masters?
Back on the menu soon!
I was about to ask same thing. Looking forward to PIO upload. Thx for accommodating! 😊
