Those GM V-6s sound so surprisingly good. I thought BMW straight 6s sounded good, but this Caddy takes the win in the exhaust note for me. Really, the Caddy takes the overall win for me, especially if you spec it with the Recaros and the 6 MT.
I purchased a 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing on 10/31/22, electric blue, 6MT, cool gray interior, fuly loaded except for the carbon fiber aero and AT, love it.
@@Nastymurderscene nothing at all, has more HP and torque then my previous 2016 Chevy SS although less then the ZO6, very approachable to use, love this car, it's absolutely perfect for where I am in life. Looking forward to attending the V Performance academy in Nevada, possible track days locally in Sonoma county. Feel very blessed that I was able to pick it up. Daytime running lights recall, otherwise rock steady.
My experience with LF3 cars and BMW (confirms expert reviews as well), Cadillac takes the win on chassis dynamics, magneride and steering feedback, BMW has the better auto trans (DCT). It's a no brainer when considering the 6 MT, Cadillac all the way!
Cadillac CT4 Blackwing for me! More exclusive and looks better! By the way, you can spec the Cadillac a lot nicer with carbon fibre packages and nicer seats!
Owned CTS Vsport 8 years and the dealership experience has been well below standard/generally terrible. The magnetic shocks and other parts wear out very quickly (50k miles or less) and expensive.
I own a 23 CT4-V BW in the same raven black with the Tremec TR6060 manual. The rev match, no lift shift and launch control are awesome. This car is a true sleeper.
So hard to choose between the two. I'd love to have both I must say how nice it is that cadillac has an answer to the m3. Id probably give the cadillac a chance over the m3 for the sake of being different. Its a great car and glad that it's an option.
Yeah it's great the CT4 V is a true competitor. After spending a week with the CT4V and M4, I did like the M4 better. Had that extra performance touch. Cost a lot more too. But it had that extra. Cadi was so nice tho and well worth the lower price for more luxury vibes

Matt Farah, Chris Harris, Dude in Blue, Motoman TV etc. All of them had an incredible time in the CT4 V Blackwing. Best 6 speed manual in a car, and again they picked it over the M3.

Kinda hard to compare the seats when you have the Blackwing with the standard seats and the BMW with the upgraded seats. My Blackwing has the upgraded seats and they are phenomenal
Well these are the only two models that I have reviewed so had to make them work. I'm sure the blackwing has some nice seats, but I don't think they are buckets like the BMW!

Shame that’s a base black wing where as the M3 looks to be loaded. The M3 has more aftermarket support compared to the caddy, but the black wing is a much rarer model compared to the M3. I think the M3 will have better resell down the road as well. I would still go black wing since it’s more unique and reliable!!!
This is the only Cadillac I had to use for this video, but you can get some carbon fiber goodies on the Cadillac like I mentioned! Not many people modding the Cadillac compared to the BMW! I love the seats in the BMW more, but both are honestly a blast to drive! More rarity with the Cadillac, but both will be reliable! BMW from 2020 and newer are pretty reliable!

The CT4 V Blackwing needs the Canards/Dive Planes It's looks so much more aggressive! Also, a lighter color would show off the vents even more. I wish the CT5 Blackwing had some fender vents and Canards/Dive Planes as well
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I worked at Cadillac of South San Francisco and I've never seen Canards on a CT5 V Blackwing. I've sold a couple CT4 V Blackwings with them before. At that time it was rare to even get carbon fiber on any of the the Blackwings due to yellowing. I think GM has solved the problem now.
I really like nearly all bmws. My friend has one. It' is not an M car but very very nice indeed. And, The kidney grill is starting to grow on me. Not sure I could ever own one though. However, i love my weekend driver 2016 ats v white coupe (with ss295 rears and zzp after market valved exhaust)..... Wholly samolly! It has 37k miles. What a car/build! It has been reviewed over and over through the years. It constantly seems to be the clear winner against many models of like cars. The technology in the car is a marvel... imo. I did almost trade my atsv in for the ct4bw. Then thought wait a minute what am I actually getting on this trade. I opted out. Anyway ..I like what i see in the the Ms..but I absolutely love the Vs.

You didn't put much information on the steering and the transmission of both vehicles. I had the old e92 m3 and I love it. The current bmw products offer accurate but numb and super light steerings which I'm not a fan of.
Yeah the manual has a bit of a rubber feeling. But it's still pretty nice. I think the Cadi has more notch of a shifter. Steering is great in both cars. No complaints there

@@RawApeFromAlbion That’s all I had to use, I said in the video these cars were not being compared with the trim level I had. Just using what I had to make the video. That’s why I went over all the options available. Very hard to find two identical trims to actually use. The color and options is a personal choice and preference, just because you don’t like black and want bucket seats, doesn’t mean someone won’t enjoy this black without those seats.
I only had the cars that I filmed to chose from. However my brother is going to make a comparison of the M3 and CT4 and use the loaded up Blackwing he filmed. Regardless, the power and performance is the same of any of the V Blackwings

Yeah I see that. However all the Cadillacs have the same interior too. We had a CT5 V and an XT5, all the same inside. Either of the CT4 or M3 would be so fun. Just depends what you like better

I’ve driven both lol, but never owned them. Both manuals are very nice! We had a manual CT5V BW and it was so much fun! Really just comes down to which one you like better! They are very identical!
Cadillac CT4-V blackwing has a better gearbox having a 10 speed automatic transmission which shifts faster than a PDK transmission. The Cadillac has a better looking design imo. I'm not into AWD because it requires no skill like RWD.
I wouldn't say it doesn't require skill, provides more grip for sure! I'm just glad both are offered with a manual! The auto's are great, but the manuals are more fun in my opinion!
Where in the world did you find this Blackwing?? Doesn't have carbon fiber, no front canards, doesn't have the sporty steering wheel, etc... Really looks and feels more like the down market CT4-V instead of the Blackwing except for the engine note. I like both Blackwing models but don't think I'd buy this spec and understand you're limited to what you can get for a press car but hopefully you can get into a more typical 6-speed iteration in the future for a better comparison.

Was excited to see a review of the two cars side by side.. but scratched my head throughout on why you would produce this review with two cars that were optioned so far apart from each other. The BW was pretty much stock while the M3 had all kinds of performance upgrades and was MANUAL. Sorry, this review was a disservice to your viewers. I think you mentioned at one point while dis'ing the BW that it didn't offer carbon?? wait what? And that it doesn't have a many performance configuration options... did you explore the vehicle at all? There are the modes and a bunch of PTM modes as well. I agree with you that of the two cars reviewed, the M3 was the sportier car.. Close the ~19k price gap between the two though and get the performance seats & steering wheel along with the 5 speed and that statement would no longer be true. And the BW would still be more than 10k less than the M3..
These are the only two models that I had at the time to make a comparison with. But I mentioned the differences in price between these and that you can spec them similarly! So I wasn’t necessarily comparing the two actual models in the video, but using them to show the car and talk about what could be added or not. Aside from that, the driving of each car will be the same even if the interiors and cosmetics are different.

This price point is far from what an average family would ever spend on a sedan and trades a good bit of practicality for performance. Hey, I love all the cars in this category, but know the pricing will mean few will be sold. I have an Alfa Giulia and would have loved to buy the Quadrifoglio model, but that extra $30k difference was a problem, not to mention maintenance and insurance. If you have the funds, however, go for it!
@@rlsedition That’s a fair statement! Just depends on what you want and can afford! Alfa is a great car too! More expensive doesn’t always mean more expensive to insure or maintenance either, lots of factors go into those!
Not a fan if the newest m3 design. The side profile of the rear end makes it look like it has a thanos chin, and the front end is just gross. Ct4 Blackwing looks way better all around.
Caddy gets a nod for handling but then the ATS-V was already an accomplished performer. However I'll pass on the recycled ATS-V with updated wonky styling. Plus it's undersized compared to the M3's interior volume and space. Additional 8hp, and an uninspiring interior are minimal updates.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah my black wing has the bucket seats with the bolstered sides hip as well with the violated seats which is a good touch cause. I live in Florida so it's really hot but I have no problems with my black wing. I wish I could've got the 5 but God-bless me with the 4. I am very happy though
Comparing these two was not really ideal. 1 autotragic vs 1 manual. One with the racing seats, one without. And so one. This made the BMW completely win the interior design category as a result. If the cars were similarly equipped it would have been a little harder to judge, but BMW would still win out on interior design.
I mentioned in the video these were the only two I had to use. Very hard to find exact identical cars especially since I don’t own either. I went over all the options and what’s available for each to compare what they can have.. I also mentioned I wasn’t comparing the exact trims in the video..

M3 are not daily driven vehicles way too expensive and the wear and tear. The 2024 CT4 V Blackwing they need to calm down on the price saw one for $90k
Over before it starts. The US gave up making decent cars way back when the government gave them import restrictions to stop foreign imports. Since the foreign imports moved here, the US auto makers pretty much stopped making cars, now it's all pickem up trucks. Cadillac was never very good, just had some decent innovations along the way.
That is true they make a lot more trucks and even SUV's! The CT4 and CT5 are great options though! Very sporty and handle extremely well! Cadillac did well with those along with the other V models!

If you listened to the video, you would have heard me say I wasn’t comparing trim levels. At the time, these were the only two I had filmed, so that’s what I worked with. I was comparing an M3 to a CT4, not the specific trim levels in the video. Even went over pricing depending on the trim level you want..

The color and options is a personal choice and preference, just because you don’t like black and want bucket seats, doesn’t mean someone won’t enjoy this black without those seats.

THE Cadilac has several other options, you picked a Base Vrs Loaded M3
I only had the cars that I filmed to chose from. However my brother is going to make a comparison of the M3 and CT4 and use the loaded up Blackwing he filmed. Regardless, the power and performance is the same of any of the V Blackwings

Yeah I see that. However all the Cadillacs have the same interior too. We had a CT5 V and an XT5, all the same inside. Either of the CT4 or M3 would be so fun. Just depends what you like better

I’ve driven both lol, but never owned them. Both manuals are very nice! We had a manual CT5V BW and it was so much fun! Really just comes down to which one you like better! They are very identical!
Cadillac CT4-V blackwing has a better gearbox having a 10 speed automatic transmission which shifts faster than a PDK transmission. The Cadillac has a better looking design imo. I'm not into AWD because it requires no skill like RWD.
I wouldn't say it doesn't require skill, provides more grip for sure! I'm just glad both are offered with a manual! The auto's are great, but the manuals are more fun in my opinion!
Where in the world did you find this Blackwing?? Doesn't have carbon fiber, no front canards, doesn't have the sporty steering wheel, etc... Really looks and feels more like the down market CT4-V instead of the Blackwing except for the engine note. I like both Blackwing models but don't think I'd buy this spec and understand you're limited to what you can get for a press car but hopefully you can get into a more typical 6-speed iteration in the future for a better comparison.

Was excited to see a review of the two cars side by side.. but scratched my head throughout on why you would produce this review with two cars that were optioned so far apart from each other. The BW was pretty much stock while the M3 had all kinds of performance upgrades and was MANUAL. Sorry, this review was a disservice to your viewers. I think you mentioned at one point while dis'ing the BW that it didn't offer carbon?? wait what? And that it doesn't have a many performance configuration options... did you explore the vehicle at all? There are the modes and a bunch of PTM modes as well. I agree with you that of the two cars reviewed, the M3 was the sportier car.. Close the ~19k price gap between the two though and get the performance seats & steering wheel along with the 5 speed and that statement would no longer be true. And the BW would still be more than 10k less than the M3..
These are the only two models that I had at the time to make a comparison with. But I mentioned the differences in price between these and that you can spec them similarly! So I wasn’t necessarily comparing the two actual models in the video, but using them to show the car and talk about what could be added or not. Aside from that, the driving of each car will be the same even if the interiors and cosmetics are different.
Base model Blackwing, makes it an unfair comparison.
like I mentioned I wasn’t comparing these two trim levels, just the car. I only had access to these cars so that’s what I had to work with.

This price point is far from what an average family would ever spend on a sedan and trades a good bit of practicality for performance. Hey, I love all the cars in this category, but know the pricing will mean few will be sold. I have an Alfa Giulia and would have loved to buy the Quadrifoglio model, but that extra $30k difference was a problem, not to mention maintenance and insurance. If you have the funds, however, go for it!

Not a fan if the newest m3 design. The side profile of the rear end makes it look like it has a thanos chin, and the front end is just gross. Ct4 Blackwing looks way better all around.
Looks are a personal preference, id rather have the m3!

Caddy gets a nod for handling but then the ATS-V was already an accomplished performer. However I'll pass on the recycled ATS-V with updated wonky styling. Plus it's undersized compared to the M3's interior volume and space. Additional 8hp, and an uninspiring interior are minimal updates.
Honestly they both have a lot to offer. I like the extra performance feeling with the M3. But the Cadi feels very refined and luxurious.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah my black wing has the bucket seats with the bolstered sides hip as well with the violated seats which is a good touch cause. I live in Florida so it's really hot but I have no problems with my black wing. I wish I could've got the 5 but God-bless me with the 4. I am very happy though

Comparing these two was not really ideal. 1 autotragic vs 1 manual. One with the racing seats, one without. And so one. This made the BMW completely win the interior design category as a result. If the cars were similarly equipped it would have been a little harder to judge, but BMW would still win out on interior design.
I mentioned in the video these were the only two I had to use. Very hard to find exact identical cars especially since I don’t own either. I went over all the options and what’s available for each to compare what they can have.. I also mentioned I wasn’t comparing the exact trims in the video..

They are not close in price, M3 easily gets to 90k. With that said it puts down 520 hp on a dyno
You can spec these cars at the same price point and then have nearly the same power.

M3 are not daily driven vehicles way too expensive and the wear and tear. The 2024 CT4 V Blackwing they need to calm down on the price saw one for $90k
They are daily driven. I would daily mine. But they are expensive to purchase.
Over before it starts. The US gave up making decent cars way back when the government gave them import restrictions to stop foreign imports. Since the foreign imports moved here, the US auto makers pretty much stopped making cars, now it's all pickem up trucks. Cadillac was never very good, just had some decent innovations along the way.
That is true they make a lot more trucks and even SUV's! The CT4 and CT5 are great options though! Very sporty and handle extremely well! Cadillac did well with those along with the other V models!
The BMW M3 isn’t real competition to the CADILLAC CT-4 V Blackwing!! And stepping up to the CT-5 V and CT-6 V Blackwings! The performance and luxury of the Cadillac over the BMW becomes even more of a non-competitive comparison with the Cadillac V Blackwing series being the far and away more attractive option‼️

If you listened to the video, you would have heard me say I wasn’t comparing trim levels. At the time, these were the only two I had filmed, so that’s what I worked with. I was comparing an M3 to a CT4, not the specific trim levels in the video. Even went over pricing depending on the trim level you want..
