    A lot of the biomes are a lot more interesting when you realize you can use the hazards against the bugs. (Magma, goo, eletric, vents, spikes)

    You know, I always considered Glacial Strata to be one of the least Gunner-friendly biomes. I play a lot of Gunner and the problem with using ziplines in Strata is that some of the worst rooms you'll encounter in that biome are both very tall and very tight. Like, you're sitting in a damn pit and the angles at which you'd want to deploy your zipline to get out are just too steep.
    Scout can get out of pits very easily, and Driller can build a path almost straight up if he wants. Engineer has to use a whole bunch of platforms to go straight up, building a spiral staircase, but it's an option. Gunner really struggles with layouts like that.
    Driller also negates the biome's annoying ambient hazard, which is cold, by being able to warm himself up. And Scout can move quickly to reach thermal vents. So both of them do well in that regard.

      One of the reasons I started using the ammo mod on the zip line 😅

      it's not that biome is bad in this sense (glacial strata sucks for other reasons, namely, uneven terrain filled with icicles) it's just gunner's ziplines are god awful and need a complete rework, but devs don't give a damn about the game anymore. It takes a few mouse clicks in the code to fix the ziplines for gunner, but they can't be arsed to do so.

      @@warriorfire8103 if it wasn't for the modders in the gaming community, DRG would be long dead.

    i mostly agree with you (+ or minus 1 tier for some). But i am 110% with you for REZ. This biome is perfect!

    Really like your approach to the mobility tools.

    Dense Biozone is terrible in an annoying kinda "devs didn't intend for it to be" way. I know that fungus and bough are intended to be dangerous, but this one it seems like it isn't intentional. It creates a lot more vertical caves that are harder to traverse. The way the walls jut out in shelf-like formations make it much harder to get around, even as an engineer, becuase you can't make a simple staircase that you would on a flat wall. This also makes it harder to find objectives like mule legs and find minerals, because you need to check every "level" instead of just glancing at the wall from any angle. The color of the grass makes it hard to see nitra. The color of the ground makes it hard to see morkite and dystrum. The big coral chuncks can help you sometimes, but most of the time take up an obnoxious amount of space that limits your movement and hides objectives/minerals. Also, shockers. They suck. Also also, the little pokey plants that you can barely see are really annoying.

      I think them being massive vertical leads to them being unique compared to other biomes lead to unique missions which are fun but it dose take longer than a normal mission and need to be played differently that the majority of caves also getting a mission type long on this map as a mineing mission is purgatory

      Kek I can count more than five times when some shit spawed in these closed off small air pockets in dense biozone (if you know you know) like the lost helmet or a crate battery, one time the fucking extraction drop pod decided to land in one of those and I had no driller. Even though magma core annoyingly has minerals spawn on the roof, at least it doesnt feel like a bug.

    A fellow Bog/Swamp biome aficionado! I like Bio mass. I also dislike the Freezing winds and Sand blindness like the Rockpox.

      Should of seen when those only effected the dwarves and not the bugs.

    Also, Azure wield is “you cant make me go back i won’t do it>:(“ IF you’re doing a mining expedition 😤 freakin morkite blends into the environment and you cant spot the shimmers that you’d normally see in darkness. I end up being in there solo for over an hour just wildly doing a damn laser dance just to see the little pings and prey that it’s morkite.

    Maybe due to perspective but when the devs adjusted the storms (sand, blizzard, quake) to effect bugs too, I didn't have a problem with any particular level

    • @warriorfire8103
      @warriorfire8103 3 месяца назад +1

      @SimonWoodburyForget that helps. Especially since it effects the bugs so the storms become a bit of a buff movement wise

      Its a cool atmospheric effect when you see it first few times, but gets more annoying the more you play.

      @@Makskori maybe. It's just nothing compared to bugs coming at you unimpeded while you can barely move

    Pretty good list. My list would be different. But cool to see someone’s perspective.
    I love the open areas and I really don’t like the rain/wind screen effects from some biomes. Cheers

    glad to see another hollow bough fan lol, it’s my favorite biome almost purely for the aesthetic and i find the hazards to be so unique and fun! everyone seems to hate it though and i always felt alone in that opinion, seems to me the community hates it

    Azure Weald is my favorite with Glacial Strata my least favorite, Azure Weald is usually quite open, very beautiful, always fun to explore and a lot of neat biome exclusive stuff like the Cave Angels or the pillars. I sure love to move slower, can't see anything, and even not being able to move if I'm too cold when a snowstorm happens, especially during a swarm! I love it!!!

    Im playing solo 95% of the time so Hollow Bough is something I wait for map refresh, if I have missions there. Maybe it's just bad luck, but most of my death's in the game from this biome. I cant find any nitra most of the time, so I dying while fight hordes with pickaxe. Only possible way to play this biome for me is Scout, thanks for flares.

    I hate dense bio zone just because it's hard to find Bismor even when it's supposed to be the Bismor Biome

    Cool video.
    Personally I much prefer tier list videos where the entire video shows gameplay or in this case the biomes. I forgot the biomes so I don’t even remember just from the little icons. Looking at the static tier list page is boring, the commentary is interesting, but again I would need to be an avid player to listen to this commentary. It is the main audience but with active visuals you could entice new players or old players who haven’t touched it, if you get my meaning

    Hey just wanted to ask
    Is it just me or there is an insane amount of croppa compared to other resources ?

    • @shadowfirehq
      @shadowfirehq  3 месяца назад

      You're definitely not the only person experiencing that. Game loves its croppa! It's probably because croppa spawns in "veins" whereas the other resources spawn in weird stalagmite formations or (like enor pearls) as large objects.- Zach
