She-Hulk episode 4 shows us the repercussions that magic has on the every day lives of people in the MCU. Wong insists on creating a kind of magic law...which is actually his job to enforce, as sorcerer supreme. The episode lays the groundwork for more supernaturral heroes to come into the MCU, such as the Midnight Sons and Johnny Blaze himself...GHOST RIDER.

Wong is back, She-Hulk is dating, and we may have met a relative of Ghost Rider?
The episode begins with a magic show featuring struggling magician, Donny Blaze. “Clip, Wong saying “Donny Blaze” using air quotes.]
Donny’s audience seems very uninterested in his magic act. Reason being that they live in a fantastical world with real magic. [clip, magicians offended by She-Hulk saying “real magic.”]
In a world with sorcerers, space gods, aliens, hulks, mad titans, time travel-I could go on. Fantastical events have become just another Monday for the citizens of the MCU.
So your run-of-the-mill, sleight of hand magician just doesn’t interest anyone anymore. Well unless you’re Jimmy Woo. [clip, impressed by Lang’s card trick.]
When we hear Donny reference [“The Great Billy Shakes”] he is actually referring to Willaim Shakespeare.
When Donny becomes desperate to wow his audicince, we see him pull out a sling ring. The same type of ring that Doctor Strange and Wong use to open portals to other locations and even different dimensions. [clip, Madisynn falling into Wong’s room and saying she was sent to a “dif demench”]
We see that Wong is watching the Sopranos Season 5 Episode 12 Long Term Parking. And he is 40 minutes and 32 seconds into the episode. Spoilers for a 12 year old episode that this show already spoiled. This is the final scene between Christopher and Adriana. [clip, Madisynn “this is the one where they kill Adrianna, it was so sad.” Wong “you just ruined it.”] It is easily the harshest breakup episode of TV of all time-which is approrptiate in an episode all about dating.
And going back real quick to before Madisynn with two N’s dropped into Wong’s room. We get a location title reading “Kathmandu, Nepal” which is where the Karma-Taj is located-and it’s also half the name of the worst bib seg ar song.
I think this means Wong is spending most of his time now as Sorcerer Supreme at the Karma Taj. Instead of at the Sanctum Sanctorum back in New York City with Doctor Strange. Assuming Doctor Strange is even there. [clip, Strange leaving with Clea.]
When we see Jen for the first time this episode, it’s almost as if we snuck up on her. [clip, “mmm, you look happy, I guess you saw Wong is back, it’s like giving the show Twitter armor for a week.]
That Twitter line being a reference to the relentless trolls who hate this show because they’re scared of women. Just like the haters we saw in the last episode who hate She-Hulk because she’s a woman. [clip, social media post scene from last week.]
On Jen’s to-do list we see tasks such as,
“Finalize Blonsky’s Injunction” - “Prepare guidance language for Blonsky inhibitor” -
“Call Emil’s parole officer”
All of these of course are in reference to last week’s episode where Jen successfully secured Emil Blonksy’s release on the condition he wear an inhibitor preventing him from turning into the Abomination. [clip]
Other tasks include, “order purple and green highlighters.” Purple and green being Hulk and She-Hulk’s signature colors.
“Finish Runa paperwork with Pug.” Runa being the shapeshifting light elf from last week’s episode. The paperwork is likely referring to either Runa owing Dennis Buwkowski monetary damages following the court ruling.
Or it could be referring to the post-credit scene that showed She-Hulk signing Megan the Stallion on as a new client. We theorized last week that Megan is probably suing Runa for impersonating her.
Next we have “buy and read ‘How to Make Friends and Influence People.” This is likely a reference to the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. - Кино

Stop the stupid speaking dog gimmick, it sucks
Omg I can feel Oklahoma getting through my phone all in my room ...yippee Kay yay corn huskers
Is no one gonna question who's heart was it in madisynn's hand
Does any notice Wong keep saying human stuff.. is he a skrull!!!!!! Human tricks lol 😂
Somehow... Sock puppet returned...
I have this weird feeling that the guy she goes on the date with, the actor from the Baywatch movie, the one that was wondering if her skin was impenetrable even with Vibranium - that he’s possibly working for the same person (probably Kingpin) that sent the Wrecking Crew to attempt to harvest her blood…
Not a weird feeling, thats clearly what it was
I agree. And I think all of the dates were an attempt and that the Dr. Is actually evil and took her blood after she reverted back to Jen.
Kingpin or The Leader…(still holding out hope for THAT callback…especially if World War Hulk is coming)
I was thinking it was the same person who tried to inject her with the syringe.
GR has discussed this becaue of his description in the cast--"Hulk Todd." She thinks he--not The Leader, as some think--might have hired the Wrecking Crew.
I like how when "business" is over, Wong just generally likes to hang out with people, not really expecting anything from them and gladly putting up with their foibles. Likes to go get sandwiches and ice cream (Infinity War), feels comfortable in crowded diners (Multiverse of Madness), happy to hang out with Abomination and then go to karaoke bars (Shang-Chi), hanging with Madisynn. Possibly because as Sorcerer Supreme he feels like he has to maintain distance from his students.
Everyone missed it. In the tag scene, Madisynn put her hand on his knee.
Wong needs his own sitcom.
Wongers could’ve got him some Madisynn easily lol
He seems pretty incompetent and irresponsible
@@scotthewitt258 na i peeped Wong Definitely smashed 😂
the contrast between Madisynn and Wong is hilarious and i love how they were just casually hanging out. i honestly wouldn’t mind seeing more of these two
I love the iasip reference to “browning” out. She’s honestly my favorite character
The copyright filing by Titania had a deeper meaning and was another easter egg of course: Marvel created She Hulk back in the day to keep other companies from simply making female spin offs of their own characters. Happened with the Six Million Dollar Man TV series.
This happened with a lot female superheros. Spider-woman, Supergirl, Ms. Marvel, Superwoman, and more where all created so that the competition couldn't have these characters. If D.C. where as diligent with their woman heroes then Marvel wouldn't have Wonder Man.
What if johnny blaze sued Donny blaze for his trademark name since Johnny's a famous daredevil stuntman?? Hope this is the case
@@AlonzoCRichardson dam dats krazy im jus noticin dat🤣🤣🤣🤣dc got wonder woman n marvel got wonder man🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣
Also, it's a thing in the comics for villains to take the copyrights of superheroes. I remember in the Ultimate comics Kingpin registered the copyright for Spider-man and started selling merch with his likeness, which Peter couldn't fight since his identity was a secret.
This episode had me thinking about how many wizards died in the Endgame battle against Thanos and if any of the sling rings ended up on the black market like the Chitari weapons after the first Avengers film.
I like that theory!🤔🤜🏼🤛🏼😎
Others could be wizards like Ned and not know ... This is a great Theory 💯
I mean, the battle was at a privately owned compound, so most likely they were recovered, but without classification, anything is possible
It's a possibility, but the Sling Rings aren't common knowledge to the wider world as they don't know exactly how sorcerors portal, they just know they can. And on top of that, you can't use one unless you have A)potential for sorcery, B)training, or C) a combo of the 2 as Ned had no training, but his family have some deep magical secret that hasn't been revealed yet and that's why he could use one the first time he ever picked it up. So unlike Chitauri weapons, the Sling Rings aren't inherently valuable or exploitable.
@@Juggtacula i mean, how secret is everything related to endgame and it's protagonists nowadays? We know ant man has a podcast and a loose mouth, he practically made a narration minute by minute on the battle. He only needed to say how the rings work and a bunch of people would try that on their home. Maybe this worked for that blaze guy
The bald, aggressive date is played by David Otunga, former WWE wrestler and body builder. He was also a lawyer. Few similarities there!
I knew that was him he looked so familiar!
^ couldn’t put my finger on it but I knew he looked familiar !!
I knew it was soon as I seen him. It's been probably 12 years. But I recognized him immediately. I thought they were about to do a love interest thing. Since they have things in common.
And at one time was married to another Jennifer …
Actor / Singer
Jennifer Hudson
He was also on the reality show I Love New York. His “nickname” was Punk (if memory serves me right)
Madisynn is my new favorite MCU character. She's just so not impressed with all the outrageous shenanigans. I feel like we could all learn from her example.
She is a Guggenhiem (sp) irl.
But yeah, she was great
She's ok as a one note character i suppose
She is a representation of how commonplace super powers and extraordinary events have become these days.
is it Snooki, The Kardashians, Giudices, Shah's Mercedes MJ Javid or any hot mess that ruled the 2010's? LMAO
Hell nah
when Wong was closing the portal to the dimension the monsters were coming out of, he turned it into a chain/whip type of weapon and they clearly focused on Donny and his amazed reaction to it... if there was an easter egg for Johnny Blaze, that was it
...i'm surprised Ryan didn't catch that. i don't remember seeing the edges o' a portal used in that fashion before and Blaze's response was obvious once you go down the Ghost Rider theory...
The way this episode starts with Jen saying "Previously on..." reminded me of Wandavision. Also another show that was talking directly to the audience and breaking the force wall.
Fourth* wall
@@subhavnogia My bad, Thank you.
Force Wall does sound kinda cool though.

The dark side is a path to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Madisynn was actually pretty cool and wholesome in this episode, I hope she shows up in future eps.
If I'm correct, it's not only possible, but it's all in the plan. That's why the actress had so many lines and was able to steal the show as she did. I actually believe she's the Superhero Gin Genie who drinks gin to gain superpowers and the more she drinks the stronger she is...and yes she can supposedly beat the Hulk if she drinks enough...and Marvel made it a point for Wong to introduce her to Gin.....ta dah - Gin Genie. Marvel has no throwaway characters.
Drunk chicks are not fun
@@seansullivan7650 I was today years old when I found out theres a hero named gin genie, also that can actually work, we did know madisynn made a deal with a demon but what if that same demon gave her powers???
@@seansullivan7650 Nahhhhh... She can't beat the Hulk. The Hulk would smeshhhh her like no tomorrow😂😂😏😏
Screen crush was right that mordo is indeed right 😂
What was that whole thing about Madisynn carrying a (live) heart in her palm and that demon about whom she said she had a blood deal with? She also mentioned that the demon portaled her back to Kamartaj, hmmmm.
Also her name is madi-synn as in sin I’m guessing she might turn into a fun villain if not that’s a missed opportunity
Thank you. The heart bit seems too out there to just be a throwaway joke.
MEPHISTO?
@@Peavey311 Exactly. Also, the said 'demon' opened a mystic arts portal, something which we have seen only the sorcerers do till now.
@@Peavey311 Might even be her own heart. She just made a deal with a demon in someone fiery hell, who said he’d take her soul if she talked. Maybe she’s already dead, and she’s been sent back to carry out her end of the deal.
I think the "fun tag" was improvised. The actors talk over each other a couple of times. The wedding comment was probably just off the top of his head. It gave me Peacemaker post credit vibes.
Improvised or not, I love how Madisynn and Wong have some fun friendship chemistry.
Patty Guggenheim (Madisynn) said the tag was improvised.
I hope there are a thousand hours of outtakes from their improvisation and we get to see more of it in the inevitable making of show.
Jon Bass’s character could be working for the same boss The wrecking crew is. They failed to penetrate her skin with a normal needle, seeing if she knows vibranium will work. He couldn’t stop laughing when she asked if he had any. kinda indicating he does.
^^^^
He's probably rich too, thus being able to get access to vibranum faster than poorer villains
He literally called her a specimen.
Didn’t catch that lol
Sure maybe it's the leader or the kingpin, but has everyone forgotten about the power broker and whoever she works with/for? In F&TWS, Sharon as the power broker and her mystery partner were very clearly trying to recreate super soldiers for profit, so this could tie into that plotline.
These episodes need to be longer. They really should be 45min to an hour.
I found a big easter egg for you. Madysonn maybe not just be comic relief for this episode. She actually may be the superhero Gin Genie. Where you spoke about Gin's so much in this video it becomes a fit. Gin Genie is a character who gains superpowers from drinking alcohol (specifically Gin) and the more she drinks, the stronger she becomes. And in this episode, Wong makes it a point to talk up Gin to her.....She's most likely Gin Genie!
I just hope she doesn't have the same fate as the character in the comics...
The y is not where you think
Any maybe the contract that she signed and cannot talk about has something to do with she and Wonger being the besties.
I absolutely love how Wongers keeps bringing up Vishanti anytime Jen bring up any book.
The Last Skywalker burn was everything 😂 also thanks so much for these vids each week, I always look forward to them as someone still learning about the Marvel universe outside of the MCU
Madisynn saying diff dimensh did make me laugh, just so passive on the whole thing like it's a casual thing to do now in the MCU 😅
Dog:”why doesn’t wong just take the sling ring away?”
Ryan from pitch meeting: “so the episode can happen”
"Listen, I'm gonna need you to get aallll the way of my back about taking away the sling ring."
Wong should of fortify his mind from spoilers!!
“I didn’t come here to make friends” Is my new default clap back
I think when Wong gives his business card to She-Hulk mentioning about human card tricks, I guess he was referring about Jimmy Woo's card trick from Wanda Vision!
I think we will see a lot more of Titania - Jameela Jamil got second billing in the credits despite only appearing on TV in this episode.
Enjoyed this as always: CORRECTION: They're watching more of NBC's "This Is Us" at the "fun tag."
Love the channel! I wanted to point out one that you might of missed. Wong mentions the Mystic Castle on Los Angeles. This is a reference/ dig at the real life Magic Castle in Hollywood. A well known hang out for magicians that been around since 1909 and where a lot of names got their start. Also, great job of teaching the young guys what not to do on a date!
Yeah its famous for people who know about it and has been referred to before in other shows
I mean, it is pretty obvious what to do and what not to, just don't be a dick. Or creepy.
Actually, the Magic Castle was established in 1963 by Milt and Bill Larson; the Mansion itself was 1909 and renovated by Milt
I LOVED Gabriel Luna’s Robbie Reyes. Also so far Agents of SHIELD is still in the is/isn’t canon limbo.
Agents of shield is one of the best shows I’ve watched. Let the canon debate be and appreciate a damn good standalone show
I like to think of Agents of Shield as a branch in the MCU timeline that the TVA didn't get to.
I loved him also. He's been my favorite Ghost Rider of all of them.
He really was amazing in that Role....the MCU should have made an actual Robbie Reyes ghost rider movie
@@joelcheng813 Hey people just want that show to connect to the greater MCU because it was so good. Plus if it ever is cannon, perhaps we can have some cameos of our favorite characters in other shows or spin-offs etc
Doug is as savage as Hulk and She-Hulk in this breakdown
In the post credit scene, I think Wong and Madisynn are watching “This is Us.”
Just for the sake of being over analytical: based on many role playing games as a sorceress, perhaps even a sorcerer supreme may keep a batch of drink for later.
Either to try to recreate the mix or just because it's good, even if they can't make the same thing because they don't know that particular spell.
I believe some of these creeps were looking for Jen's weakness. I mean, is soooo telling your date asks you if Vibrabium could penetrate your skin AFTER getting attacked by someone with a needle.
I'm so glad you added a clip of Nic Cage ghost rider after the "not the bees"
Would've been wrong not to
Mephisto was in Wandavision.
Mephisto is in She-Hulk. He was Cornelius.
When Mephisto is finally revealed, it’ll be an “I was always there” montage of everybody he’s posed as.
For what it is, this show has been fun and entertaining. I like that it's different from the other shows. Thanks for the rundown Ryan. This is by far my favorite breakdown youtube channel. Sorry Paul aka Brother from another mother who happens to be your sister.
Damn that crazy this was my favorite episodes out of 4 I felt actually entertained the whole time surprised that this is ranked the worst of them I'm excited to see what's next.
It seems like the She-Hulk CGI is better when she embrace her She-Hulk persona-fighting Titania in ep 1, going on dates as She-Hulk etc. It’s like she’s unintentionally breaking the 4th wall
My guess is the wedding is referring to the actual wedding of Meng'er Zhang to the fight choreographer from "Shang-Chi". They met on set and the production team planned their wedding. Since She-Hulk acknowledges she's on a show, and Wong, being Sorcerer Supreme, can travel across dimensions, including into ours, he probably went to the wedding.
I have to say that I enjoyed this episode of She-Hulk especially the Maddisynn- 'Wongers' dynamic..so credit where credits due...it WAS funny after all,get a sense of humour!
Madisynn, or Maddie (Pryor) S'ym? Is this another X-Men cameo? Mephisto confirmed?! Bees! I mean, she made a deal with a devil.
THAT SLIPPED PAST EVERYONE. Thoroughly impressed, Crag!
I thought he would have talked about the girl making a deal with a demon. Another wink at Ghost Rider and Supernatural for that fact.
2:31 best transition to an ad from a youtube video ever
Why is it every time that we cover Wong in these videos, it seems like odd sorcerer behavior? Are we certain that he did not get replaced by a skrull? Cause Wong seems to have done 180° lately as far as his behavior, and I get the feeling that... like skrull Fury, he is not acting like someone who belongs in his role. Relying on other supers to fill in the gaps.
Idk man it’s like they really want to use him but can’t come up with good reasons why
I agree, he has said some things that either don't really make sense, or that kind of contradicts things he has said before .. also it's either the writers are trying to drop little Easter egg, cannon bombs,. Or it's a skrull that is trying to prove he's actually Wong. I'm going with skrull just because I don't want to believe the writers are doing that just to be "funny" or whatever
@@robinsonsuarez6334 He's a familiar character who can show up anywhere, anytime and can always use the excuse of "protecting the realm" to justify his appearance. I think it's smart move to have him as sort of a Nick Fury-esque presence
Think of it this way: he learned that the Ancient One was actually drawing power from the same being as Kaecilius; and Strange has come to the point of almost breaking the uni/multiverse with little consequence. He's seeing for himself just how much power sorcerers wield on a day-to-day basis.
He also lost his partner. That tends to mess with people.

i think the dimension the demons come from in this episode is limbo associated with illyana (magik) from the new mutants comic run , limbo has a demon called j'im so it stands to reason that there is demon there called jake as well
Who would've thought we really needed more madisynn, and Wong friendship in The MCU that was really a side of Wong we never saw before.

Being a completely different person in the morning, makes She-Hulk the "too good to be true" date. She introduced herself to him, as She-Hulk. Maybe talk to him about "Jen," before springing it on him. I felt lied to, for the hot doctor.
Jen basically cat-fished him with She-Hulk.
Her duel identity is the first thing mentioned whenever she is on tv. The reporters say it, she says it; if he didn’t know, which there is no reason to believe that. It’s on him. The chick let’s him score with she hulk and makes him breakfast and he dips? Yeah he’s the victim lol.

Surprised you didn't connect Wong's mention of Blaze being a "charlatan" to Doctor Strange Vol. 2 #65. One of my favorite Strange stories. I appreciated making the idea humorous for the show, but I do wish they would've left a little of the pathos of that issue here.
even though I gave up on this show, I still love watching your breakdowns!

I just love this channel and the energy you bring. Every youtuber and every film analist will only talk about how "mcu is going downhill" "mcu shows get worse and worse" etc. etc.
This channel actually celebrates the shows, knowing they have flaws, but just focussing on the positive and the idea of the shows and the movies, that the mcu is bringing out after endgame.
It just seems like I am very much alone in still loving the mcu, but this channel and all of your content just makes me feel less lonely and more sane, for enjoying it all! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!
I think it's fair to criticize the MCU, but it is funny that people don't realize the MCU has always varied in quality. When there is this many stories/characters in one single universe you are bound to get a mix of duds, so so entries, and great stories.
This show isn't my favorite so far, but it has some great moments and I'm still coming back every week. But yeah you're not alone. The MCU is still putting out great stories and I don't imagine that will end any time soon.

Thank you for adding in info from Agents of SHIELD!
Quick note here, adamantium is a vibranium alloy that is slightly weaker than the vibranium alloy used to make captain America's shield so vibranium has always been a core component of Wolverine's metal skeleton.
Adamantium was always stronger, that's the point of it, it's several times stronger and practically indestructible, vibraniums whole thing is that it is strong and can hold any vibration and let it out, and vibranium can bond with life
@@youraveragehotdog6836 adamantium was created in an attempt to recreate the alloy that captain America's shield is made of. Cap's shield is the strongest vibranium alloy.

Vibranium and adamantium have always been very different metals in the comics.
Vibranium is the freakiest and adamantium is the strongest.
I hope it stays that way, now that Marvel has the rights to adamantium.
Adamantium is not the strongest. Uru metal is the strongest, the one that was used to make Stormbreaker. That's why Stormbreaker can easily withstand the full power energy beam of the Infinity Stones.
@@mavvynne444 I'd call Uru the most mystical metal. And I don't recall Thor's hammer ever breaking Wolverine's claws.

I'm surprised the Canadian Easter eggs weren't mentioned in this. Especially after the episode 2 Wolverine easter egg. That terrible date with the guy from Winnipeg, Canada. While hockey (couldn't see the teams) and a Toronto Argos (Canadian football) was on in the background. Maybe it's not as noticeable if you aren't from here but it was pretty heavy on Canadian themes which immediately hinted at Weapon X or Department K. Doug is just so chill widdit
Nicely done, Ryan.
I think the reason that Wong doesn't just take the sling ring is exactly the reason he states: he wants to set legal precedent.
I'm curious about this inhibitor I've heard a few mentions of. Could this tie into xmen like the precursor to Nimrod, Master Mold or the Sentinels?! I feel like we're on the verge if Magneto with all the worry about the other side of saving earth in a daily basis. The financial and property damages are insane. We had the Sokavia Accords to try and get superhero registration a thing, a law firm representing superheros and now the mention of an inhibitor. I just feel like we're on the verge of forced compliance in the superhero community and with that a weapon that can compete with any and all threats. I know this is a shot in the dark but who knows!
Coming up on 50 years of Ghost Rider. Hope to see more of him in the MCU. Johnny Blaze and or Danny Ketch with Robbie Reyes.
I couldn't help but think of Arrested Development when Donny Blaze referred to his next trick (at a bombing magic gig, mind you) as an "illusion".
@®️Telegram @ScreenCrush That sounds ominous.
It always stuck with me that Strange was told in his first movie that the sling ring can open portals across the multiverse.
I believe this is the first example we've seen of it on-screen.
It's pointed out that dreamwalking will cause an incursion, but people can interact with other universes if they get there by other means. Afterall, the big green bull Rintah can train in 616 without issue.
Wanda removes Stranges sling ring before he falls into the multiverse in Doc Strange 2.
Question 1: If the sling ring can do what Wanda needed, why didn't Wanda just steal one (she did) and use it?
Question 2: why haven't we seen sling ringers from other multiverses? Are we to believe all practitioners of the mystic arts know not to do it?
Question 3: Why did the demon cgi look better than most of the she-hulk (patent pending...) scenes??
I can see why people don't like this show but I get what they're going for. It's new content at the end of the day and I didn't have hihh expectations for Angry McBeal (patent pending)
I was more disappointed with Falcon and Winter Solider tbh
I feel like that comes from the confusing language they use for “dimensions” and “universes” , the sling ring seems to work on hoping to different dimensions within a universe, but not different universes. So e.g. it can access the 9 realms, mirror dimension, and literal hell within the given universal timeline but not outside of that. This is also why people aren’t slinging into the MCU 616 universes.
As for the CGI, it’s the lighting. It’s always been the lighting lol
@@SSBNUMBER4 Thanks for your response. That makes sense and must be the explanation but they definitely say multiverse in Doc Strange 1. I'll chalk it up to a behind the scenes retcon.
regarding question 3, i think the reason why the demons look better is because they don't resemble humans. making a cgi human like she-hulk would really result in uncanny valley. another reason is because maybe the cgi staff worked on the sequence earlier because it's one of the hardest to create, and they had more time to polish it. the "easier" cgi where she-hulk just walks around could've been started later.
The ring doesn't open portals through multiverses, if it could Strange would do that instead of trying to help Chavez get her power undercontrol or ask 838 Sorcerer Supreme for help. Sling rings only makes portals within a universe which is made of up of different dimensions.
The only way multiversal travel is possible in the MCU that we know of so far is:
Spells like No Way Home.
Gates/Portals like Shang Chi.
Star Portals that America Chavez creates.
Dreamwalking like Scarlet Witch and Strange
TVA Timedoors
@@Pwn3dbyth3n00b Agreed for the most part but the shang chi portals and the TVA portals are still within 616
It always stuck with me that the Ancient One says in Strange 1 that the rings are used to open portals to the multverse.
It's probably just a case of them expanding on the definitions over time to fit the stories they want to tell.
*don't even start me on Asguard being called a planet when it looks like a hanging basket!! Lol
I have to say this episode is the most enjoyable so far, But i think the way the man are written in the show is very one dimensional almost all of them feel like caricatures. I think the show could have benefited from some more subtitly in how the man treat Jen, I'm not here to say the show is bad or pushing a agenda or stuff like that. other than that this was a fun episode i hope we get more like this.
i also noticed how one dimensional the men are in this show. but i think we gotta give it a break since older shows/movies gave nothing for female side characters too lmao
So her Dad, Boss, Pug, Wong, Blonsky are all like that?!
@@AllInTheGame01 this comment. The dating ones, yes but so far not all are bad
@@martineliecermitrethomas9833 Thanks. I am not saying all of the men are bad written im saying the ones they are trying to portray as "bad" could have been written in a more subtle way.
@@AllInTheGame01 i never said all of them are bad.
Yo, I've seen your videos for a long time and I just realized those were dvds behind you this entire time, not comics. This whole time I never thought to confirm it seeing it from my peripheral because of the context of the video being about marvel. I immediately associated it subconsciously. That's wild.
Hey Ryan, and Doug I really love your videos and I wish you could also make DC videos about the ongoing season 3 of Stargirl
This was a fun episode! Good to see Wong is fun and likes to party!
11:28 you can see the Demon Jake in the Art Credits Scene. which is a goat as Madisynn mentioned
Madisynn and Wongers forever!💗
Donnie Blaze was an homage to every knock off hero we've gotten thus far on Disney +
Its like the tite receding before the Uncanny music plays again and brings us back to shore
I'd like to think the wedding was between Shang-Chi and Katy, there was a hint of that possibility in their movie. Also that frozen place the demons were being sent to didn't look like the one from Avengers, the scenery was all jagged and broken looking, not like the mountains from Avengers.
Looked more like Wendigore from Dr. Strange: MoM
I really hope they don't force a romance between Shang-Chi and Katy, it was refreshing to see a platonic male/female friendship for a change.
"I didn't come here to make friends" - Doug. My new favorite saying now.
I want to point out that in the court room scene, after Madisynn spells her name Donnys lawyer is shown scratching out something on his paper and rolling his eyes indicating hes scratching out her name cuz he spelled it wrong cuz the y wasnt where he thought it was.
This show has me conflicted. I understand that is a lawyer show but like why would people with powers bend the knee to a government system. Like you said Wong CAN and SHOULD just take it ring from him. They have never cared about a court of law to solved there problems, why now?
They should stick to her defending people like Blanski or super powered people who accident broke things or hurt people. Not somethings as easily handled as taking a ring away from a bad magician
Uhmmm, perhaps because being a “lawful good” hero is a decent way to live a life with loved ones & a community of non-über mensch, yet valid humans?
Power-fantasy anarchy is easily found, if that’s your vibe.
I’m really enjoying this, as are many others. Why not enjoy the fun?
@@ruthbennett7563 I'm not saying the show is bad, I'm just saying the things they choose to take to court seem beyond the understanding of any normal government. Wong should either have a magical court rule on weather he can continue to use the ring or take it away from him himself.
Captian America: Civil War, is a good example of something that can be taken to court. Whether or not the accords were legal. But this dude using magic that could destroy the universe (as Wong put it) shouldn't be left up to some random city judge that doesn't understand the ramifications of him using the ring improperly
@@user-nr3iv1vu4y good points all.
I appreciate that you question things & have a strong affinity for the ethical/philosophical aspects of comic mythos.
This show doesn’t seem to be diving that deep. Though it might go there yet (if only to grab up something nice & shiny from the metaphorical depths).
@@user-nr3iv1vu4y I’m pretty sure Wong is just “in character” out of touch with “mundane” life. He don’t understand *exactly* what a court of law is for. He just know that “non mystic” people listen to it, so he want to use it to pass his message.
Wong have also been shown often as a sorcerer that don’t like over using magic, in contrast to Dr Strange that use it nilly willy for anything, like swapping tea for bear.
Such a GREAT SHOW
*Making friends and influencing people* is also the name of a Agents of Shield ep, specifically related to recruiting superpowered individuals
Thanks Ryan!
I think the show, particularly the non legal side of it, has been quite fun. But I find it pretty bad whenever it becomes a legal procedural
Definitely, the legal scenes are such a drag
It’s literally a law show
@@korruptgamer5608 its how it is written, its way too boring, and feels disconnected to main storyline.
Same. I hate legal stories and lawyers.
@@korruptgamer5608 I'm not saying it's bad because it's a legal show, I'm saying the legal side of the show is badly done. The legal procedural nature of She-Hulk is what I was most excited about, but I've been finding it extremely childish and boring. But it makes sense since the head writer did say that "One thing that we all realized very slowly was nonce of us are that adept at writing, you know, rousing trail scenes".
She-Hulk is proving very effectively that there is a thin line between "comedy" and "stupid writing" with every new episode. In a good comedy, the protagonist would be the butt of the joke sometimes or at least face actual hardships or challenges. They hand her everything on a silver plate, without setbacks or actual problems - how is that supposed to make Jenn relatable? Just look at Malcom in the Middle, there, the 4th wall breaks were actually giving us insights in Malcolm's struggles. In She-Hulk, Jenn is superior from the beginning, especially when male characters are involved. Who, for some reason, are just dumb in this show, A few examples:
Wong, who told us and Dr. Strange in "Multiverse of Madness" that the "Book of Vishanti" is not a myth (as its common knowledge), but that it exists. This knowledge is reserved for only a few, like the Sorcerer Supreme. So... when he assumes that Jennifer Walters, a human lawyer refers to the book of Vishanti, that's just degrading - as if the writers wanted to say "Hey, he's talking about the book of the last big movie - isn't that funny?! HAVE YOU SEEN IT?! FANSERVICE!"
Then the other guy at 13:15. He talks about "an incredible battle in the courtroom with Titania". So, in a world full of superheroes and superhumans, being jumped by someone and knocking them out with one punch is considered an "incredible battle"?
Not to mention her misogynist colleague. His only character trait is that he thinks of himself as god's gift to all women. That's his whole character concept. This can work to a degree (like Todd in Scrubs or Barney in HIMYM), but here, they crank it up to 200%, until the "suspension of disbelief" doesn't work anymore and interrupts the immersion on a level, that you just don't buy him as a character anymore.
The real God's gift to all women is Thor, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Loki...
17:10
YES !!!!
That was my guess too !!!!
No, the book of VI-Shanti was in Dr strange m.o.m, in she hulk they mention the book of A-Shanti. Just like the sands that kept strangers cuffs working, it's a different "-Shanti" book.
I keep watching She-Hulk hoping it gets better...I am starting to lose hope. One of the issues that I have is that I feel the storytelling is rushed. Episodes should be at least 45 minutes.
I can’t even lie to you, I’m watching the sopranos too and I’m on Season 5 Episode 12 Long Term Parking. I freaked out
Jimmy Woo and Scott Lang card tricks were actually set up for Wong and the West Coast Avengers. You folks cover this stuff for years and don’t notice the writing techniques and accents that set up the future .
It’s a refreshingly funny show. No big grand world ending event.
