Flash 1's continuous attempt to go back and stop Kara getting killed, is taken from Stephen Chow's "A chinese odyssey", when he kept using the magic box to go back and find out how Spider demon, his gf, died. When Flash 1 tried to get his power back, it's also from another Stephen Chow movie, Forbidden City Cop.
I think I caught an Easter egg that you didn’t see. Kara was found in Russia and this could be a reference to the graphic novel Red Son which shows an alternate timeline when Superman crashed in Russia instead of Kansas.
Keaton’s Batman was supposed to take over. The cancelled Batgirl movie is a follow up to that version of Batman but since Warner Bros merged with Discovery & James Gunn is now head of DC, those plans have changed
So stupid they should have kept the original ending and just released the Batgirl movie straight to streaming or something. Gunn rebooting the entire thing is such a waste because he's not going to make a movie better then this for DC.
At 7:28 when you talk about the objects going blue it's not because of the speed force but after a real phenomenon that happens when particles or objects in this case surpass the speed of light in a certain medium resulting in a flash of blue light known as Cherenkov Radiation which signifies that the objects barry moves around are moving at FTL speeds, however this also means that the objects are not protected by his speed force aura but at the same time the fact that the objects are not getting obliterated instantly and the fact that no baby got any radiation burns due to the intensity of the Cherenkov radiation (which is ionising) suggests that these objects might be going in and out of his speed force aura both being protected by it and at the same time feeling the effects of the real world.
The suit that BatKeaton gives to Barry for protection is an all black suit, no yellow simbol, I tought at the moment that the movie was stealthy making fun of the Kilmer/Clooney suit (no nipples thankfully) but now I'm think it was maaaaaaaaybe a bit of foreshadowing of the ending? maybe?
With the Batfleck scene in the beginning, wouldn't it have been a much better idea if the Fiash went after the guys trying to get away with the deadly virus? He could have done what Batman did in a matter of seconds and then saved the babies before they started raining down
he was too busy saving people... remember, the babies weren't the only people he saved, he was busy before that too. Plus if they escaped Batman, Flash would still be able to catch them with ease... but saving lives takes priority. If he had went after the bad guys he might not have made it back in time to save the babies themselves (he is still late all the time after all and most of them would've been crushed or burned or stabbed before even hitting the street)
Ok so, I don't think it was Thawne that killed Flash's mom in this because Barry putting the can of tomatoes back wouldn't have fixed things if it was Thawne because he could kill her anytime so it must have just been a robber or something.
One of the original test versions of the film have cameo from reverse flash as the killer of his mom. That's when the film was supposed to lead into crises. They never show who the actor is.

Finally when DC was starting to make sense and deliver great movies, with Keaton’s Batman and Sasha’s Supergirl entering main DCU and Cavill’s Superman returning, James Gunn nuked the hell out of the The Flash’s ending! I’m speechless seeing such a WTF ending to such a great movie!
22:00 In the film, in the 2013 reality, a monitor in the background at Barry's place is showing "Looney Tunes" misspelled as Looney TOONS - A perfect reference to one of the most infamous Mandela Effects, another clue that they're in an alternate timeline where events have changed.
Did you notice the Raquel Welch Shawshank Poster had the bottom right corner Untaped to the wall. Referencing the question on how it was fully taped in Shawshank which everybody questioned regarding Andy Dufranes escape from prison.
It was definitely supposed to be Michael Keaton originally in the end. He was the Batman in the cancelled Batgirl movie, which still would have had JK Simmons as the DCEU Gordon.
@detroitdeizel7856 the entire batgirl movie was pretty much already filmed; there’s tons of images on set showing Keaton filming. It’s common knowledge, pretty much.
@@PsykotikxPanda it doesn't mean that the failed Batgirl POS and this fantastic film are in the same continuity, dummy! Keaton's Batman was obviously on another version of Earth (hence no Superman there) than the Earth of the Snyderverse. As was Batgirl, which explains what he was doing in that low budget, made-for-TV movie!
Also, I like to think that Gotham in the Keaton Batman timeline is crime free because the villains (Joker and Penguin) end up dead at the end of their stories. I like to think this trend continues
Whiz Comics featured Shazam back in the day. The two distinct color trails that the Flash’s left in the fight with Zoe is reminiscent of the comics, where Superman became 2 separate beings. One made of blue energy, one made of red energy.

Aquaman asks Barry in his end scene, “So you’re saying that I’m the same in every universe?”, which is an Easter egg that Jason Momoa is always Aquaman in every multiverse, including future films. I think.
i enjoyed this film, but with you pointing out references to other films, esp in the action scenes, i'm wondering if there's anything left for superhero movies to do in that regard
Meh. Michael Keaton was underutilized, Supergirl was there for no reason, Batfleck was basically the Whedon Batfleck for the action scenes, no Henry Cavill (not including that rubbery one), the wonder woman cameo for those simps, stupid post credit scenes, shitty CGI. The only good thing was the speed force cameos.
The Film was alright, it was definitely better then most of marvels phase 4 and the recent DC films but is it as good as the hype, definitely not. Story and such where good, but the CGI reminded me of the Scorpion king.
So here are some things you may have missed: Barry's mom is listening to the Spanish version of Mac the knife. The song she sings which he sings at the end is translated: life gives you surprises; surprises gives you life. The mom played Mercedes in Pan Labyrinth.
During that moment where he first pops his head out into the past it woulda been dope to get the justice league batman vs super man Easter egg where Barry warns Bruce that Lois is the key to save super man lol
Saw this movie twice yesterday! AMAZING movie and the homage paid to past heroes in film and tv was very heartfelt and in no way forced. TRUE respect paid!
One of the things in the film that bugged me is how the Flash can basically go to the past, and didn’t bother to see who killed his mom. Granted while watching this video, it seems that he can only see stuff that happened in the past if he was around the general vicinity. However, I just realized that Barry Allen was in the house where his mother was killed and young Barry was nowhere to be seen when adult Barry Allen visited his mom one last time. As such, couldn't the Flash see who killed his mother or did the door being closed in his room prevented adult, time-traveling Flash to see it?
Makes me think reverse flash is still the culprit even if not shown. Would be tough to "catch" the murderer moving as fast as you with a head start.but maybe just the fan boy in me wishing that
1. It had to be reverse flash... because hes basically the joker to batman. 2. It's irrelevant... if you can prevent a crime from happening then it doesn't matter who did it. Whats explained in tv show is that it has to happen and it'll always happen whether in that time or another
@@dub88acc I think you are misinterpreting my post. I never asked who is the culprit. I am asking why didn't Barry Allen see who it is? That way, he can go to the present, get clues to prove his dads innocent without changing the past.
I may be trippin but at the end of the movie, when Bruce calls Barry, his phone is red when he picks it up. After they show the car roll up (to reveal George Clooney Bruce) his phone is blue! I could have sworn I saw this
Two things that I'd like to point out. 1. CCPD in the movie looks verily similar to the CCPD building in the Arrowverse. 2. Eric Stoltz also played Marty McFly in the alternate reality in the series Fringe. This again is a call back to the Arrowverse. In Flash season 2, Cisco works on the machine to give Barry his powers back. Cisco refers to the machine as "The Vacuum." When this is met with confusion Cisco says, "Alright...No Fringe on Earth 2." Also, Dark Flash is the Savitar story line from Arrowverse Season 3.
Thanks for reminding me of all the references to older movies in this new Flash film, unbelievable how some of those references are at least 10 years older and still do it better than this movie that came out in 2023
Young Barry is wearing a yellow shirt, possibly foreshadowing the Reverse-Flash? When Batman jumps out of the Batwing, you see the Batwing behind him making a silhouette on the moon like in the ‘89 movie.
I was really hoping that keaton was playing thomas wayne. That wouldve have explained why he’s an older batman in this universe. This movie is so good. The only thing I wish they would have done is kept the original ending with Keaton and Kara being outside the courthouse that would have been a way better ending. Also, can anybody talk about the biggest plot hole which is who killed Barry's mom then? And there was a clear attraction between Barry and Kara that could have been explored in a sequel had they kept the original ending.
The Clooney thing is bizarre and makes no sense. It's clearly a late decision because they didn't know what to do and had weird edicts from the studio That's not a plot hole. It's just an unanswered question. It doesn't break the story in any way
I'm kind of surprised that they didn't just walk into Keaton's Wayne Manor, go up to him, and whisper in his ear, "Martha", in order to get his help immediately.
The biggest references, the mother is Maribel Verdú, and she is singuing "Pedro Navaja" one of the most famous song of Rubén Blades, the song is about how crasy life is
I really enjoyed this movie. It made me laugh at some scenes, feel the adrenaline and anxiety kick in during others, and even tugged at the heartstrings a bit towards the end. I liked it so much, I'm planning on going back to see it again.

Phasing was also in Snyder cut when the mother box exploded Bary phased to avoid the debris and then he ran back in time.
The new Keaton suit looks very much like an action figure that came out around the time of Returns. The suit was all black, and was removable from the Bruce Wayne figure.
I hope Doug got an extra treat for his excellent portrayal of the Flash 😂
I really enjoyed this movie, but I'd also love to see the original cut because I imagine it was very different.
The people who watched this movie a month ago had a completely different ending
@@BankaiFever it wasn't "completely different", it was the same they just saw the feet of the "new" Bruce Wayne getting out off his car and Barry said "who the F--k is this guy?"
They just added Clooney.
@@andrewshandle true that. There’s a four hour cut of this movie I’d like to see one day, shame that this was it
Would have been cool to see Ben Affleck play the George Reeves Superman, since he played that character before…
That would probably confuse most people as Hollywoodland, while popular with critics, did not have a broad audience. Affleck can get away with playing two characters in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back however because it's satire.
@@barkboingfloomTrue. I think having a CGI George Reeves was better than Ben Affleck as George Reeves as Superman because of that. Most people would not connect the cameo to the old TV show, and instead would connect it as a Zack Snyder B&W universe where Batman is Superman.
It would have been good to see someone other than George Reeves for a few reasons. That role is what killed him and he never consented to having anybody used his likeness in the way they did. It was super disrespectful but fan boys don't give a shit, just like Tarkin.
Keaton throwing a pan at Barry 2 mirrors Affleck and Barry 1 first meeting
I could have sworn when you first hear Batman over the headset it was Kevin Conroy's voice. " Barry I need you"
i thought so too
Michael Keaton, and Sasha calle, and batfleck were the best part of this movie.
This is definitely one of those films that you'll love to watch over and over once it's released on digital lol.
No
Flash 1's continuous attempt to go back and stop Kara getting killed, is taken from Stephen Chow's "A chinese odyssey", when he kept using the magic box to go back and find out how Spider demon, his gf, died. When Flash 1 tried to get his power back, it's also from another Stephen Chow movie, Forbidden City Cop.
Doug is the fastest pup alive
I think I caught an Easter egg that you didn’t see. Kara was found in Russia and this could be a reference to the graphic novel Red Son which shows an alternate timeline when Superman crashed in Russia instead of Kansas.
When Bruce says "our scars are what make us who we are" that foreshadowing to dark flash when he gets slashed across his face.
I thought that the future “dark flash” was like some kind of savitar
I agree, it was Savaitar acting in the role of Reverse Flash from the animated version, sorta.
Keaton’s Batman was supposed to take over. The cancelled Batgirl movie is a follow up to that version of Batman but since Warner Bros merged with Discovery & James Gunn is now head of DC, those plans have changed
I mean he’s in his 70s so it’s probably logical to not go in that direction. James Gunn w
The suit that BatKeaton gives to Barry for protection is an all black suit, no yellow simbol, I tought at the moment that the movie was stealthy making fun of the Kilmer/Clooney suit (no nipples thankfully) but now I'm think it was maaaaaaaaybe a bit of foreshadowing of the ending? maybe?
He was still wearing the Batman suit
@@PlatPodMediaCEOSean Yeah I know, he gave him another suit
Great to see Colton popping up more!

The waterfall was also in the original Micheal Keaton Batman, its the scene when he is saving vickie vale and returning back to the back cave.
I love how young Barry imitates sauron when he has the ring, it's so funny
Patty Spivot from The CW was by far the biggest missed opportunity and booty that just refuses to quit.
BOOTY SPIVOT
It changed the circumstances of providing the right timing to frame his father for it
Ezra Miller killed Barrys mom

Another fantastic breakdown by ScreenCrush. Or if i may be so bold, a FLASHTASTIC breakdown 👍
I loved how Barry 2 breaks the back of one kriptonian in the classic bane style
Yeah, I remember and thought the same.
One of the original test versions of the film have cameo from reverse flash as the killer of his mom. That's when the film was supposed to lead into crises. They never show who the actor is.
LOVED Doug in the flash costume
Barry pulling his sleeve down to look at his watch is another BTTF nod when Doc Brown does that
I watched this movie on May 28th at a early fan screening, & maybe the jay garrick we saw was teddy sears, but they did a cgi jay garrick so it did not look like Teddy at all.
Man just casually dropped the best explanation for the speed force ive ever heard in an almost off hand comment. This is why I watch every video you make. A top tier creator and top tier fan
The Butler picture on the phone is of Jeeves, a pulp character that Alfred was based on.
Bruce's direct dig at MCU's handling of time travel, we might expect Deadpool in DP-3 to give a funny reply addressing this
Finally when DC was starting to make sense and deliver great movies, with Keaton’s Batman and Sasha’s Supergirl entering main DCU and Cavill’s Superman returning, James Gunn nuked the hell out of the The Flash’s ending! I’m speechless seeing such a WTF ending to such a great movie!
Great? 😂
@@atwunzI can understand, for you only films directed by Zack Snyder are great. And that’s totally fine, maybe The Flash isn’t just for you!

Damn you, Ryan! The "your mom" really got me this time.

Originally Keaton was going to take over as batman. I read that years ago
I don’t think it’s Dark Flash, but Future Flash from Out of Time that is the inspiration in the film.
It was definitely supposed to be Michael Keaton originally in the end. He was the Batman in the cancelled Batgirl movie, which still would have had JK Simmons as the DCEU Gordon.
And you know this how?
@detroitdeizel7856 the entire batgirl movie was pretty much already filmed; there’s tons of images on set showing Keaton filming. It’s common knowledge, pretty much.
@@detroitdiezel7856 Have you been living under a rock? This is all public information.
@@aaronpennington943 No, I've been living under your mom!
Im with you Ryan, Flash was best DC film since Aquaman
Also, I like to think that Gotham in the Keaton Batman timeline is crime free because the villains (Joker and Penguin) end up dead at the end of their stories. I like to think this trend continues
Whiz Comics featured Shazam back in the day. The two distinct color trails that the Flash’s left in the fight with Zoe is reminiscent of the comics, where Superman became 2 separate beings. One made of blue energy, one made of red energy.
At 21:48 you missed a major easter egg.. the poster of a Monkey like figure carrying a mountain on his wall is a very revered Hindu God "Lord Hanuman". He is a metaphor to the "Monkey" his mom used to call him plus Lord hanuman has superpowers very close to superman+flash.
I’m pretty sure the tornado and the drop kick are a reference to the injustice games!
What did you think of the movie?
Loved it. Just needed more supergirl. Also, I kind of liked the CGI.
The Film was alright, it was definitely better then most of marvels phase 4 and the recent DC films but is it as good as the hype, definitely not. Story and such where good, but the CGI reminded me of the Scorpion king.
I liked it and all the call backs. I thought it had a lot of emotion especially when Barry got to see his mom one last time.
Who killed his mom should've been shown 😓
So here are some things you may have missed: Barry's mom is listening to the Spanish version of Mac the knife.
😂😂😂😂
Thanks for reminding me of all the references to older movies in this new Flash film, unbelievable how some of those references are at least 10 years older and still do it better than this movie that came out in 2023
James Gunn HAS commented on the possibility George Clooney be the new Batman. A fan asked him in Twitter and he said “Absolutely not.”
That was from February
Young Barry is wearing a yellow shirt, possibly foreshadowing the Reverse-Flash? When Batman jumps out of the Batwing, you see the Batwing behind him making a silhouette on the moon like in the ‘89 movie.
I was really hoping that keaton was playing thomas wayne. That wouldve have explained why he’s an older batman in this universe. Also when he touches the frames family picture i could have sworn he touches martha and little bruce’s head. I would have liked this movie if they went with this flashpoint plot.
It was def Thomas Wayne. when batman says his parents died .....he makes a face which shows he lying. ---- also you are right - he def touched the picture where Bruce is in the middle......also...Batman sews himself up like he's a doctor.......because he is.
@@jimcampbell9566 yeesssss! I remember now when Bruce got paralyzed in the comics: Alfred was saying to Timothy(the new Robin back then)how he had helped Bruce heal, repaired his body countless times but….what Bane had done to him was beyond his expertise.
It's clearly a late decision because they didn't know what to do and had weird edicts from the studio
That's not a plot hole. It's just an unanswered question. It doesn't break the story in any way
how did younger Barry figure out older Barry traveled back in time to prevent their mother's murder before older Barry finally admitted it?
thank you screen crush for always dropping brilliant breakdown videos. always with some heavy point.
The way Barry runs backwards inside the Chronobowl is very reminiscent of how people move in Tenet while going back in time.
