Kevin Hamilton on twitter asks, “The big one is who killed his mom…Barry not even being curious is a bit weird.” Now you did answer your own question in the tweet…it was probvabl;y professor zoom, like it is in the comics and the flash tv show. Zoom is a scientist from the future who hero worshiped Flash so much he gave himself speedster powers, and long story short he becomes a villain and goes back in to kill Barry's mother.
If they ever do revisit this franchise,I’m sure he will be the villain in the sequel. And Bat Bunny has a great follow up: “Barry’s dad being home doesn’t automatically mean Nora would’ve survived. If the thief/intruder snuck in he probably would’ve just killed them both.”
Yeah, so Barry reasons that the intruder would;it would have come in if he knew the house was occupied. His mom was listening to music really loud, but whatever. I’m betting that this is the lie Barry told himself, that his mother would have been safe if only his dad would have been there to protect her. Or, more precisely, his dad would not have been blamed for the murder.
Iut is super weird though that Barry concots this whole idea to move tomatoes up to another shelf, instead of just going back to the moment of his mom’s murder to see who the killer was..then years later he could catch the killer. It’s pretty clear he never did this so the movie could set up Zoom being the villain in a sequel that will never come. But more on that a little later.
Jim asks, “How did flash get his powers back from Clara in the sky? Just because chemicals hit him before?” Yes, that’s it. On the surface, it’s silly comic book logic that they could replicate the exact amount of chemicals that randomly hit Barry when he got his powers-but the same thing does happen in the flashpoint comic. I’ll chalk this up to what Barry says in the movie-that some events are just fated to happen.
Isra Z has a great question that we talked about in our easter egg video: “Why his Lightning changes from white (in JL) to yellow? Is it because of his new suit?” Actually, I think his lightning is blue in justice league and suicide squad, because its the color of the speed force. And his lighting is still blue in this movie, when he makes the cushion fort. So yes, it's because of the suit. The new suit allows him to dissipate the energy he charges up, so that same process must turn the lighting yellow. While other Barry doesn’t have this suit, so his lighting is still the color of the speed force.
Crap bag asks, “Why young Barry didn't stop the shovel from falling and making noise?” Because he is an idiot.
Baitha na on youtube asks, “Why would they think that one kryptonian that just got their powers could defeat another kryptonian that had at least a day more exposure to the sun and militarily training?” Yeah, you’re right. They should have just given up and never tried.
Nah but seriously, they had to do something. And kara had been on earth for a while, so that explains how she could adapt so fast. She did…really get the hang of her powers quick though.
Brude Lau says, “Why did they have to find KAL-EL after restoring Barry’s speed ? Cause imagine that That don’t make NO SENSE.”
Doug: Yeah, that don;t make any sense.
Niegher does the question. Obviously you know why they had to find kal-el…maybe you’re asking why they waited till after finding him to restore bary’s powers. Barry was trying to make events go the way they did in his world, where Superman defeated Zod. and Remember, Barry was useless at the battle of metropolis. I think he only tries to get his power back after because they’re ot even sure if Kara is going to help them.
Andrew Dickens says, “Even if the dad was at the store he was still there very close like not even 20 seconds to when she was stabbed so it still could be him. He was at the store when it was pinned on him and he was at the store when he came and found her having just been stabbed - it proved nothing.”

I don't know how the flash brothers thought that the zod kryptonians were unbeatable. Even newb Barry stumbled and bumbled his way into accidentally stabbing faora ul to death. Like you said, original Barry phased his hand into another kryptonian guy's chest, cw reverse flash style. Also, the flashes weren't fighting a super OP kal El from ZSJL. They were fighting a bunch of kryptonian purists that didn't like to leave their own home planet and refused to take advantage of the powers that the yellow sun gave them.
Also, with some batman prep time, Barry could have told Keaton about green kryptonite and red sun rays weakening kryptonians and canceling their abilities. But it looks as if, in this movie's set rules, kryptonian physiology is affected by any sort of kryptonian weapons and metals originating from krypton, much in the same vein that earthly humans are affected by earth guns and steel metal blades.
As long as the flashes have the element of surprise, they could have phased their hands or kryptonian metals into zod's team and turned their brains and hearts into so much mashed potatoes and omelets.
Since the usa army were in the desert and getting slaughtered by the dozens, you would think Martian manhunter would break cover and start protecting the humans, but I guess earth was destined to lose, for the sake of the script. Thus, proving Martian manhunter is a chicken shit in every alternate universe. SMH. 🙄

On the other hand, Keaton not only had complete knowledge of how time travel _actually_ worked, he seemed to have distain for anyone who believed it worked like it does in Back to the Future when he's explaining fulcrums and why Barry changed the distant past.

OK, but the issue in regards to Barry’s dad and the store still doesn’t make sense. His dad was about to walk in the front door… You could see him on the front lawn outside of the window walking towards the house when the mom suddenly screams and he runs inside to find that she’s been stabbed. So regardless of whether he went to the store or not, he was still at the house at the time of the stabbing.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Exactly what I've been saying. Tomatoes high or low does not matter. Dad's face on video does not clear him. Dad arrives home at the same time in both timelines. All the police see in both timelines is that Dad is home with his hand on the knife. Tomatoes change nothing. A store receipt or eyewitness from the store who saw Dad or a still-warm car engine does not matter to the police.

Ideally James Gunn would have just come in and do a hard reset and just said they are starting from scratch. Movies like Flash and Aquaman 2 being delayed due to Covid and other factors made it a bit messy to go from one universe to another. I was hoping Flash would give us a better explanation for a reset like the comics but they didn't see to have a way to do that with what was already filmed.

I interpret barry not learning his lesson and saving his father in the end as being a reflection of human behaviour. We always repeat the same mistakes in one way or another which eventually leads to the same outcome. Barry here tried to change the lesser of the two evils he had( saving his mom and his dad in the process or not being able to save his mom and lose both of them) , so he chose to atleast be able to not lose his dad. I personally didnt have a gripe with it as showing these heroes as not perfect really makes them more relatable than making superheroes seem like ppl who can never do anything wrong and will never repeat mistakes.

Ok so, I think many people including Ryan are confused about the ending.... Barry accepted his fate! he accepted that his mother had to die and returned the canned tomatoes at it's original place. Look at his hands, they're pointing downwards, 4th shelf I think. he looked up because he knew there was a camera but he can't help his dad. he did not knew that his dad was going to be free... he just came back. Now what I think happened is, think of the chronobowl fulcrum as a ship navigating the ocean, 1 degree of slight turn and the whole course changes. Similarly when barry was going back in time for the first time to save his mom, dark flash pushed him out of the chronobowl, thereby changing his course. Also, if you remember, there was a baby in the shopping cart when barry first visited his mom, that baby was Crying. but when he went back in the end, that baby was Smiling, which kinda indicates that this is yet another timeline he's running back into

if someone came to our time, and shot, lets say, elon musk in the face, this wouldnt change our past. it wouldnt make bill gates the owner of apple, or make hitler black.

5:09 except Barry literaly does that to one kryptonian. they were also able to murder multiples of them. including faora, with ease.

Its amazing how industrial accidents usually leave people injured or die. Super power by chemicals and electricity is so far fetched.

This movie has some good surprises like young Barry making our Barry more likeable, credit to Ezra for playing opposite himself and really pulling it off. I thought it was awesome that they turned him into reverse flash. Other than that they executed these ideas half-assed-ly, and chose weird cgi and cheap marvel copying. Why do we all know that DC has the better ideas as far as what we want to see live action but can't trust anybody to get DC right outside of a Batman solo? I appreciate that Ryan didn't do as much to protect/defend this movie even though he gave them more excuses they deserved.

I had a lot of the same questions as most but realized it's just a Movie. Nothing more nothing less. We're not supposed to think that deeply because we actually have common sense.

18:18 The parents would probably look different as well, each Batman had their own parents, they don't all share the same versions.

I think one thing that’s missing from the fulcrum time travel explanation is why the past would change. In this video, you mention a ripple effect that will go backwards, but that doesn’t quite sit right with me. Instead, the way that I’ve been thinking about it is that in order for the new future to exist based on the change that happen, it drags events from the past in order to line up. Innoway, it’s kind of like how magnets work in an electric motor. If they were permanent magnets in it, if you only make a very small change, then it’ll pop back to where it was, but if you make a large enough change, then it will snap to a new position where everything lines up again.

Yes I'm confused? So if Barry is not stuck in a different timeline and this is instead the same DCEU timeline, but altered. Then how is Ben Affleck supposed to be appearing in Aqua Man 2. I'm assuming Aqua Man isn't going to be fighting alonside Clooney in this movie?

Well it probably is his timeline, but with cracks. Things have changed. He cracked the bowl of reality and he technically fixed it, well fixed his “fixed point of his mom dying” and when put back the bowl now has a crack in it. They explain this in CW flash with Jay Garrick. Every time you go back and fix things a new crack appears in your original reality so it’s not the same

I still don't believe that Barry 2's timeline is the Batman '89 universe. How does Zod factor in? So in like EVERY universe, Zod attacks Metropolis in 2013? I personally think that the Barry 2 universe is some amalgam, battleworld scenario. Keaton is playing A Batman, but not THE Batman from the Burtonverse
