How do u work with doomfire drab color? I bought 70 fanatic paints after seeing your videos. Now im very frustrated becouse. The paints are soo thic that are imposible to paint. When im adding some water they dont cover even on white primer. Im using wet pallet. Im shaking the paint before using. I feel i was lied by army painter.
I'm still a Vallejo/P3 kinda guy, here. I've got some Army Painter colors I use (just the basic colors and the basic Speedpaint 2.0 set) and while the Speedpaints are alright? I'm none too keen on adding more to my collection, and ditto for Pro Acryl. They're the new hotness other than the Army Painter Fanatics set and I have a few of their paints that, while good? I'm none too keen to replace everything I own with them. I'm glad the Fanatic set works for you, mind you, it's just not for me.
Fantastic results as always. In terms of Glazing Mediums, what do you find works best with Fanatic? I see you use the Warpaint Stabilizer, but have you tried any other glaze mediums with these?
Yes! I tried my Cuttlefish magic medium and it worked mighty fine! The only problem with most mediums, unlike the stabilizer, is that they are white. The stabilizer is super clear. Just a minor nuance though. 😊
Nope. The Pure Red, much like most of the Warpaints Fanatic paints, looks more desaturated fresh from the bottle. Warpaints fanatic cures to the exact color as intended though. The problem these days is that we get reviews from people who only used the paints ( whatever brand ) a few times. Very little practice and study of the paints specially after curing. 😉 Reason WHY I almost never watch RUclips reviews. I rather buy small sets and test the paints myself.
Saturation is very good “ once dry and cured “. The paints generally look less saturated when fresh from the bottle. Once they dry on the miniature, they saturate and darken a little bit. Thus the minor difference with other paints. Other paints look so saturated out from the bottle, but note that they darken as they dry. A few colors darken too much. 😊
Knowing the paints well does help with your strokes over the model when it comes to glazing and layering. The Warpaints looks more thinned down like some of the AV Vallejo paints. Thank you for another awesome video Don.

The pure reds is holding me back from purchasing the mega set. I've read on alot of places that it is more pinkish than pure red?
