    As long as banks lend money to dumb customers, dealers will keep giving you the middle finger

    • @michelle-lz8tg
      @michelle-lz8tg 26 дней назад +3

      eventually the number of customers will slump...8 year loans that go underwater almost immediately means they aren't going to be able to get back into the market to trade it for new vehicle in 3 years or so.

      thats why drivers shouldn't trade in thier vehicle every 3 years. not having a car payment for 10 years after a car is paid off is great

    • @michelle-lz8tg
      @michelle-lz8tg 22 дня назад

      @@JS-kh5ls is it wise to keep a new vehicle for more than three years now?...especially if you get close to, or out of, the warranty millage....eg...my washing machine has a 10 year warranty..but it only covers the parts that won't fail...the pump and motor are only 1 year...seems like automobiles are heading this way as well...out of warranty means out of pocket...replacing the taillights on some of these cars is thousands now....with all the electronic controls, minor little things you could ignore in the past won't allow full operation of the vehicle unless fixed...of course this will need to be done at the dealer.

    Please keep your old truck. Don't sell it. You upgrade everything every 5 years it seems. No reason to get new and go in debt unless the truck is rusted out and not worth fixing. For once don't buy a new vehicle.

    • @kebsis
      @kebsis 25 дней назад +2

      Yeah I'm in that situation, my truck is 13 years old and it's finally getting to the point where it's not really worth fixing anymore. Sucks. I went to look at leasing a Chrysler Pacifica and those lunatics wanted nearly $900 a month. Now I'm considering used but I've been burned bad by used cars before and I really need something super reliable that I won't be working on all the time.
      Maybe I'll just get the cheapest lease on a little car and hope the market is less fubar in three years

      @@markholubetz Thanks for your reply. That is odd indeed. I’m seeing the first signs of concern down here in America. Low interest rates and some discounting of prices. However the discount is still small, 10-15% off MSRP. I’m expecting the discount to rise as retail sales slow, and fleet sales dry up. People are getting fed up with the gouging by dealers and manufacturers. I’m still waiting for those $8.000 new pickups that I keep hearing about. Yep, when swine learn to fly!

    It's really just marketing. Millions of men (and some women of course) have been convinced by slick marketing campaigns that trucks are the only way to go. It fits their image of being rugged, macho, tough, etc. Plus, they feel in command as they look down on others around them in "lesser' vehicles. The truth is, though, that the vast majority can't actually afford these trucks. But, that doesn't stop them for one second. Their whole life is based on monthly payments and the truck is just one more payment on the list. They only stop spending when their finances go negative on them, and then they'll cut back for a few months until the next new shiny thing pops up that "must" be bought.

    All these plutocrats buying these high-priced vehicles are spoiling the market for the common man and woman. There is a vast unserved market for the non-one percenters.

    Who’s buying this stuff? Ifs sad, yesterday I read a headline that a significant percentage of people over 50 don’t have any retirement savings and want government help. I bet those same people are buying trucks, a boat to tow around and vacation every year but they want the tax payer to help them retire. it’s frustrating because it’s those same people who are pushing the price up on everything due to their insatiable demand but now want help with retirement savings and government healthcare. Those of us who are responsible are getting so squeezed.

    I’m sorry. I don’t believe people are still buying these trucks in droves… for the fact that every lot is busting at the seams with trucks always… products that are hot and selling don’t stay on the shelves.

    Societal beat down men have to get their poser truck to feel manly. You can't put a price on that. Especially when they put lifts and giant tires on them to take the kids to soccer games.

    yeah for as much as people whine about gas prices, they don't mind buying overpriced trucks for their daily driver grocery getting kid hauler that never hauls anything in the bed or on a trailer.

    I'm not buying and I would love to also say others aren't buying, but I see brand new trucks on the streets every single day. Apparently people are still buying these overpriced vehicles. I wish I knew how others can afford these. I guess I'm doing life wrong.
