I think that would be a mistake on their part to force users to wireless data transfer only. Also would be a major negative hit to wired CarPlay vehicles but maybe they’d sell an official wireless adapter if they did that. That would be kinda nice.
Actually, you CAN remove the charger by only ONE HAND: just hold it, use your index finger to push it from one side to the other, and once it is no longer in the center, it pops off!!
I love how the biggest complaint in this video isn't something inherent in the wireless charging or magsafe design just literally Apple being dumb about something that could have very easily at basically no cost been made better (slightly longer or detachable cable)
One major benefit of Magsafe vs wired charger: wired charging plugs can be finicky because they can get clocked with dust and gunk and then you can't charge your phone at all! Better to have at least the ability to charge your phone via Magsafe. Not saying your complaints aren't valid, but I can still see the value of this item.
@@GreatGrandmasterWang I did. I had to wiggle the cord and hold it in a particular position to work. I tried a different Apple cable - same problem. I tried an electronic parts spray cleaner - nope. So, I just bought a MagSafe charger and the problem is solved.
@@greeneyesms Would i rather be able to use my phone freely and like normal whilst charging with a wired charger, or switch to Magsafe because of a debris blockage that will take ages to happen anyway (and i could just buy a cleaning kit). I choose wired chargers!
The wireless benefit is setting it down with ease, not picking it up since taking off a wire doesn’t require looking for a port or a wire. I don’t think that’s a big that you need two hands to unplug. Instead, it’s a feature because you can use your phone while it charges unlike a regular wireless charger.
Simple solution: just put double sided tape on it and stick it to your desk. That's what I did. Works great in my home office. I prefer the magsafe charger over other wireless chargers because it's faster and, as you said, the magnets ensure that it's always alligned correctly. That being said, I agree that it's a bit annoying that it sticks to your phone (if you don't use my solution). If you want a charger to bring around with you and don't mind the cable getting in the way then I would probably just get a regular wired charger..
I saw the MagSafe charger as a direct replacement to the lightning cable, *not* wireless charging pads. People haven't ever gone on and on about why lighting cables are too short or require two hands, so I'm confused as to why this accessory is being held to a different standard?
@@JerrySchulze The same way we justified AirPods from EarPods. Maybe one day Apple says no more lightening port. Things change over time especially on the tech side, and it’s not like people paying extra for products from a premium brand like Apple is a secret.
1)It’s easy to disconnect with 1 hand and definitely easier doing it 1 handed vs the lightning connector. 2) you can also glue it or use 2 sided tape to stick it to a stand for one handed connection and removal. 3) The short cord is not an issue if you use it as solely as an overnight charger by your bedside. 4) lightning connectors burn out if you try to use the phone while charging. I haven’t had that issue with wireless charging. It seems like you’re being a bit over the top with your tear down of the charger. A chair table and plant….
Here is another hack: a mobile phone is called like that because you can take it with you , let’s say on vacation ... the charger would be a good idea to have it with you too... but hey, it’s “glued” to the table .... too bad
3 years later and my MagSafe charger has NEVER unplugged from anything, It is so intuitive to remove the charger with a single finger while holding it in one hand I dont even notice I’m doing anything, and the cord has no outward damage, I have had a couple wire chargers tho, all that have broken within 6-12 months.
One option: embed it in a table. That way, it’ll clip on and off your phone fairly easily. Of course, designing a piece of furniture to use a specific puck that might not work with the next gadget Apple decide you need is rather insane.
Let's not forget, not everyone owns a router to route the pocket needed to put the puck into the table...I mean I guess you could do it with a knife if you were really that desperate? I mean, everyone has a knife right ?
The benefit is you don’t wear your lightning port. I pull it off really fast in a hurry. You can’t really pull a lighting cord quickly without wondering if you’re going to harm your phone or cable. I also like how I can charge my phone and listen to wired headphones at the same time
Sometimes u have to improvise! Get an extension cord. The charger allows you to orient the cord where you want it. The magnets’ keep charger attached to phone securely while moving phone. All in all a good setup for hands on during charging.
Honestly the only reason why I’d invest in MagSafe at this point is for the Belkin charging stand. It would consolidate the two power bricks I plug into my outlet, and make a nice nightstand piece. I probably would seldom use the MagSafe puck on its own. Honestly a 30W brick and a decent Anker cable is the way to go!
Fair points, but you can also use an extension cord for your power adapter. Also, if you use a multiport charger that connects to the outlet with a cord, it also solves the problem with having to be really close to an outlet. Good points about having to use both hands to remove it…magsafe seems to be better suited for stationary docks.
@@leandrolucato true true but Its up to the Ppl to buy it I bought one cuz My family all wanted to use my charger so i got the magsafe one And honestly they haven’t asked for it since lol
@@MasterPiece-rg7ed you can align the lead end into the phone. not really wireless its still connecting onto something and you have to use hands to unclip it off.lol.
My truck has a 120v outlet just under the display screen. I keep the anker cube and magsafe plugged in all the time. It’s pretty convenient as well. Connect my phone, lay it on my console while I drive, done. The three foot cord is actually perfect for vehicle applications. The 120v outlet doesn’t stay powered up when the truck is off like the regular car charging port does so I don’t worry about battery draining issues. When I’m not using it, I just slide the puck In between the middle console seat to keep it out of the sun. I have one for the house but I rarely use it since the 12 pro max holds a charge for a good while.
1. Third party longer cables are available at very competitive prices. 2. It’s not true that third party power bricks only charge at 10W. Anker’s Nano 20W charging brick actually has a throughput of 16W, which is faster and cheaper than Apple’s own equivalent one. As long as the brick supports Power Delivery 3.0 it will provide power at the advertised speed. 3. No wireless chargers are designed to be hand held, so taking a dig at Apple for that leads me to believe that you created this video with the intention to discredit the product, instead of presenting an accurate and unbiased review. 4. This product claims to wirelessly charge MagSafe compatible iPhones at 15W, and it does what it says on the box. So I say you should 100% buy it if you need it. Hope you found my honest review useful. Enjoy! 😆
i agree with him. a wireless charger only make sense if you don’t need 2 hands to use it. otherwise it’s just a wire …. cable.. this item is .. a cable nothing else. the whole purpose of going wireless is … not having a cable to connect to the phone a magsafe charging dock make much better sense than this cable. you can still use it with one hand
Haha well gaming or RUclips the phone gets too hot and the charge will sit at 84%. Also holding the metal puck with the phone is heavier than a wire. Im pretty sure I’m returning the MagSafe ha
I have not had an issue with charging and gaming at all some have mentioned. As long as your using an official apple 20w charger charging while gaming. An this was with CODM, pubg, N GENSHIN IMPACT ON HIGHEST SETTINGS.. IN OTHER WORDs apple chargers only.
Coming from android since the 1st galaxy, you guys are complaining about nothing. It’s honestly not that bad. Wire being short is probably all I’ll agree with.
No matter what the charger, I’ve always thought the 3” cord length is a lame way to save a few cents. For all the money we spend on smartphones (again, iOS or other) anything under a 10” cord is an insulting slap in the face. I now buy my charging cords from my usual 3rd party but since Apple decided to stop sending the chargers with the device I’d like the option to have them keep their lame crappy 3” cord as well. Since they seem to think the wall wart is with $40 then give us the option to get just the device and drop $60 off the price. I could then use that money to buy my 10” cord and wall wart while still pocketing the remaining $20. Fair is fair .
indeed ah why did they even bothered to put the short cable in the box. to be honest i left it there as indeed i use longer cables or wired or magsafe charging stations. I keep it there in the box as spare. and that magsafe cable? jesus what a slap in the face as well. totally useless. they indeed would rather drop the price from the d’évidé itself
I think ima buy this lol my port got mest up so I guess this would only benefit a person like me that Dosent wanna waste 200$ at Apple to fix their iPhone lol
The biggest benefits of wireless chargers are not tripping on cord and the no more in and the phone port constantly which eventually becomes loose or bent then phone doesn’t charge at all or has to be at weird angle and not be bumped.
In a world where fast wired charging is reaching 100W or more, wireless charging doesn't even come half as close. Not only does it waste your time, but it also wastes electricity
I’m a year late and then few, but I really wanted to say thank you for including captions! A lot of tech reviewers don’t include captions, which is so weird and frustrating. I can hear just fine, but really feel that having captions make it easier for me to look out (literally) for the details I’m interested in. Thank you!
I love the MagSafe charger I purchased with my iPhone 12. I especially like not putting wear on the lightning port. When I am streaming music to my audio system from my phone I just leave the phone on the charger. I use the Apple charger. I expect to use this stuff for years so it’s fine on cost. A gamer? Get a USB-C extension cord.
I’d rather have to use two hands to disconnect the charger, than have to awkwardly hold a regular wireless charger on the back of my phone if I want to use it
This guy seriously needs to use two hands to remove the charger, like a cave man. Just use your thumb. You don't need two hands. These complaints are stupid.
I see the main advantages of the MagSafe charger are that it saves having to line up the port and plug and it saves wear and tear on the port on the ‘phone through repeated connections and disconnections. Extension USB cables are available quite cheaply. To complain that you have to use both hands to disconnect sounds ridiculous to me
1 i never destroyed an iphone port in 12 years of usage and only a few model change 2 the purpose of going wireless is … not having to handle a cable 3 magsafe stations are the way to go imho
@@farodopi5170 I just hate micro usb with a passion. Who thought it was a good charging format should have been casterated due to how fast you got to replace those, but iphone ports seem well designed.
I am looking at buying this, there seems to be a lot of similar products as well, you have to buy the MagSafe cable separately but it makes it simple to remove. Also, 3-feet is the standard size for 2-reasons, it’s used for I/O to a computer, that’s what an iPhone is. 2nd, it’s for performance, longer cables are for things like printers that usually use batch processing. Also, the new Pro Max provides 28-hours of video playback, so I doubt many will need to game and charge at the same time.
Planning on getting one of these to use as a car charger so that I can keep my aux cord plugged in. Kind of pricey but when you compare it to the price of traditional wireless car chargers that mount to vents or the dash, it evens out. I have had numerous issues with traditional wireless car chargers.
Went to Ross to look for the cheap counter item products, found a car phone mount. It even chargers your phone and works really well all for 12 bucks. Something cheap and simple would suit you better.
look i agree with some of your complaints, but it does help the battery life stay at a high capacity and that’s what i’m aiming for keeping my iphone healthy
some of these complaints are the most nitpickiest I've ever seen. The most reasonable complaints you had were the price and the fact that it doesn't come with a charging brick.
To me the benefit is not having to use usb cord 3 of my iPhones charging port have gotten lose and stopped working. Also I have used wireless chargers before and it’s super annoying when you place it overnight and because it wasn’t in specific spot it didn’t charge.
So far with my experience, the lightning charging cable usually stops working. Which was why I purchased the mag safe charger. I primarily came to see if the heat from the mag safe charger was an issue. But, because it wasn’t one of the 45,000 complaints that was mentioned. I think it was worth the purchase.
These items listed here are my very sentiments exactly regarding the MagSafe charger --- along with the fact that the charger does not work if you use certain cases on your device. I have the 12 Pro Max, and purchased a protective case with a 'pull-out ring' in the back that allows you to easily hold the phone etc. But my MagSafe does not work while that case is on the phone. Yes, I know there are some cases out there that are MagSafe compatible. However, in spite of these issues, I think the MagSafe does have potential, since you can use either an extension cord and solve the short-cord issue; and 3rd Party manufacturers may soon release 6-foot and 10-foot cord MagSafe chargers anyway, so I don't see that aspect as being a huge deal since it is easily solvable. Anyway, I'm not a fan of MagSafe for many of the reasons you listed....but I know the potential of the technology since it could also be applied to data transfer as well. I think it's a technology that simply isn't being used to its full potential just as yet. But if the MagSafe was able to work regardless of whatever protective-case is being used on the phone, it would be closer to phenomenal.
Despite being more costly, I actually like using magsafe charger on my iphone. It saves the normal wear and tear on the lightning port that comes from plugging and unplugging the lightning cable on a daily basis, and I wouldn't be surprised if Apple one day decides to eliminate the lightning port on future iphones. Complaining about having to use two hands to disconnect the magsafe charger from your phone is really just petty nitpicky complaint. Not to mention the fact that you can always get a longer cable if the 3ft cable is too short.
it only comes in 1m version so you can eventually buy an extension cord for your adapter but that’s it. a dock station. is a wary better option to me. this si just a cable. no difference with a lightning cable for me. i never wore any of my iphone port. While the magsafe does really wear the cases if you are not careful. I am a happy owner of a 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe 15W you can detach with one hand by simply twisting a bit your phone when you take it. charges your airpod at the same time. cable is long enough and included. you can charge horizontally or vertically for video watching or video calls. that’s for me a good usage of the magsafe feature of the iphone. together with the walled and magsafe battery pack. but most of all it’s super clean and fancy on your desk. your iphone is literally floating in air with this charger and it’s super reachablke. so nice
@@aigoated I believe that the magnets only work on the iPhone 12 and 13 models. You can use the magsafe charger as a wireless charger for other phones that use the Qi wireless standard. Although, I tried it with my iPhone 11 before I got my 13 and it didn’t work that well. I hope this helps! :)
@@nicholasrobinson6353 thank you! I also figured out that you can buy a magnetic adhesive that attaches to any phone to make it work. However the only problem is heat if you have a wireless charger that heats up easily.
Mount it into your desk. It's very easy. Just a holesaw, drill and some cable mounts. It doesn't move when you pick up the phone. Plus I have a power outlet (powerboard) mounted into my desk so the cable length is a nonissue. There are heaps of videos on YT on how to do this.
My point is that the magnetic connection of this specific charger is not a benefit over lightning or Qi, simply for charging. I think stands with MagSafe will be a benefit.
I use the MagSafe charger and quickly developed the skill of removing it one handed. I can leave the charging puck on my desk and not fiddle with grabbing a cable, brick, and crawling under my desk.
@@JerrySchulze But the magsafe is a benefit over lightning. There's no way you can tell me that if you had to plug and unplug both of those 20 times in a row that they would both have seemed equally easy to do. Trying to line up the lightning cable into that tiny tiny port is definitely more tedious, especially in low lighting.
Claiming MagSafe is easier because you don't need to mess with plugging/unplugging is a stretch, too. That's his point. It's canceled out by the fact that it handles exactly the same as a Lightning cable when you're done using it.
@@LL-fi4rr Hardly. Handles the same “when you’re done using it.” Right, but hooks up when you start to use it way easier than lightning. The biggest appeal to me is that I use a regular wireless charger now and if I get the phone off center by just a bit, I don’t charge overnight. MagSafe eliminates that worry. I haven’t purchased it yet myself, but I most likely will soon. To me, the pros outweigh the cons. YMMV.
That’s the issue with me though. I already have a lovely wireless stand that charges both my iPhone and watch. What is the point of getting a MagSafe one? Because it is a virtual stand my iPhone has never slid off while charging so I didn’t both changing it.
I think the magnet is pretty neat yes you have to put in a little more work to take it off the phone but you can be on your phone laying down without worrying about it falling off so I like it. And you don’t have to worry about the problem of getting shortages due to bending from having it on your chest or table while charging and scrolling through your phone. To me it’s saving money from constantly buying chargers every 3 months.
Surely if you’re buying new chargers (portable battery packs?) every few months then you’re buying the worst performing brands/models?I’ve had my ankers for at least 4 years and still going strong
you think too far. you can easily slide it off with one hand. and just buy an extension cord for your couch, table etc. (thats what most people with deep desks do)
Using a smartphone whilst it is wirelessly charging. Yeah, if you want to help kill your phone. Wireless charging is heating your phone enough as it is without you pumping more processor and gpu heat into it 🙈
Hiii! As a first time iphone user and having the iphone 13 pro, I'm so happy I came across your video!! I was actually planning to buy this (together with the power adapter brick and wire thingy for the earphones) cause I thought it would be convenient and whatnot, now I realize I dont even need it! Plus it would really save me more money! So THANK YOU!!! 🥰
I thought the whole point was that this wirelessly charges your phone while you can also use it. That would defeat the point if you didn't have to remove it with 2 hands. The length of the cord is the reason I have a problem with it.
yeah it’s definitely redundant but the reason they are doing it is to help people transition. I believe when the technology is there (fully charge an iphone in minutes so you don’t have to wait) they will ditch the cords and ports.
1. You adjust very quickly to be able to remove the puck with one finger on one hand grab. 2. If you need you can extend the usb cable, you buy wall mounts that hold the puck and its even easier to grab it and pull it away without the puck going with it. These complaints are 3. Price, is always expensive with apple, will always be a complaint. Buy it on sale for $17 like I did. 4. I use a magsafe mount in the car, I never have to plug it in.
If I had one of these, I’d stick it to a counter/nightstand etc with some good double sided mounting tape. Wouldn’t have to worry about pulling the charger off the phone each time. Would essentially function like a regular Qi charging base
the battery is screwed in a few hours using the magsafe, I noticed that the battery goes down twice as fast as charging it by cable. Be careful because you can screw up the battery in hours and if in an emergency you use wireless charging, use a low-wattage charger so that it doesn't get hot and you don't have problems damaging it.
The magsafe charger also leaves circle burn marks around the magnets or where the apple logo is. It also leaves burn marks on the apple leather case and silicone
5:26 I got this from apple support for charging iPhone 15 and earlier 15W “Higher wattage adapters at or above 9V/2.56A will also deliver a maximum of up to 15W peak power to your iPhone” Page name “How to use your MagSafe Charger with iPhone” and a subtitle “Compatible power adapters for up to 15W faster wireless charging”
My application is that I want to connect it to a stand and use it for work at my desk. It easier to just pull it than to unplug constantly. My situation is unique though and I think its worth it for people using it at a desk or attached to a charging station where it doesn't require 2 hands to pull apart.
I agree. I don’t think there are actual benefits to this “wireless” charging pad over wired fast chargers if you need 2 hands to unplug it. But I’m really looking forward for the Belkin 3-in-1 Magsafe charger since I use AirPods and the Apple Watch. BTW great video
@@DepressedMusicEnjoyer You are right. But I usually don’t use my device when it’s charging so for me it’s not a big deal and I don’t plan on diving with my phone anytime soon.
Wired fast charging degrades and damages batteries minimally twice as fast as wireless charging does. When you have a phone that easily lasts a full day as most iPhones do it’s pretty pointless.
The benefit I see is cable orientation for wired charging. I tend to set my phone upright on a table or my chest when I lay down, I can’t do that plugged into the lightning port.
Why not adhere it to a nightstand or wherever you charge your phone. This dudes complaining to much. You don’t need two hands to remove it. You can slide it extremely easy with just one hand.
@@fire010g disability is complicated and everyone has unique circumstances, but for people with c4/c5 spinal cord injuries and similar, they have hand movement but no finger dexterity, meaning they can drag the charger off the top of the phone, but have no ability at all to plug in a cord. It is impossible for somebody with no finger movement to plug in a charger, but easy with arms and wrists.
@@J38x729 In that case, I think the non-magnet wireless charger might be the better choice, because they can grab the phone with both hands, instead of one hand on the charger another hand on the phone.
@@fire010g appreciate the suggestion, however I have firsthand experience with a person with the condition above and know the regular wireless pad is not as good. while the magnetic wireless charger would require 2 hands, the issue is more lining it up. its easier to hold the phone over the magnetic pad than over a regular QI pad which is finicky. A solution we came up with to solve this is to attach the magsafe charger to the table so he can pick the device off or knock it off the charger than grab the phone.
You actually told the truth about how you feel about this! How refreshing. Nice to watch an honest video w/o being interrupted with a sponsorship info of stuff that's completely unrelated. The hallway fiasco was pretty funny! Love that you took a side instead of hmming and hawwing. Thanks! Thumbs upp'ed.
I've gotten a method down for removing my phone off the MagSafe charger with one hand: As you go to pick up your phone you slide one-two fingers underneath the phone and simple shift the charger out of alignment with the magnets in the phone, this will cause the charger to let go of the phone and boom done.
Most people don’t understand the actual benefit from magsafe charger / battery pack too. These are meant to protect your battery from getting too hot to the point that it might put your charge on hold in worst case scenarios. Unlike corded chargers they communicate with your phone and deliver the optimal charge while using it, otherwise in normal conditions they would max out the charging capabilities. Hence protecting your phone from your own usage.
I’d buy it just for the gimmick of attaching the MagSafe charger to the wall and having the phone charging, on the wall, above my bed when I’m sleeping. Yes, there are no practical benefits in terms of everything you mentioned, but I can see the creative uses.
I was thinking of getting a MagSafe charger for my room when I’m laying down it should be good there but this guy made excellent points it would suck if it’s your every day charger that u have in your bag to take every where in case your iPhone dies And buying multiple of these for your house or office would kind of suck if u always have to pull it off a regular wireless charger would be better then
There is one benefit. When there is a storm the qi does not fry your phone. Just the qi mag safe charger. The lightning wire will fry the phone. The jolt will travel through the cord into the phone.
I purchase one even after watching this video and yes there are valid points however the reason I got one was to ensure my phone charged over night. After owning it for a week, the advantage of having a charged phone every night outweighs the negatives.
Just ordered it yesterday, now I’m a little bummed. But then, I’ve never used “wireless” (or should I say portless) charging before so it’s just a gimmick I want to try. Also it opens the door for a variety of stands you can buy for your phone...? Maybe future MagSafe accessories that will come out will also be built around the assumption that you already have a MagSafe charger? Idk
I bought the MagSafe puck and Apple's 20watt charger and though most of this videos complaints are not relevant to me....I agree that the charger is not exactly worth the price. I have found that while using this charging combination with my iphone 12 Pro Max...the phone and charger really generate a LOT of heat! This combination may also be causing an additional problem with the tempered glass screen protector that I use. I have noticed that after charging my phone overnight...the heat may be causing the screen protector to lift around the notch. (Just food for thought) I have recently stopped charging my phone overnight...and now I am just charging it for about 2hrs each night. This has seemed to address the screen protector lifting problem while still allowing my battery to get a 100% charge.
And by the way your table analogy would be the same for any charger or wireless charger, I love the MagSafe charger it’s so small and convenient. You are so dumb you need 2 hand to take the charger off, just flick it to the side with your finger and it comes off easily. MagSafe is great to use in a car as well as you can use it as a mount. Love MagSafe! Buy it! It makes life just that little but easier and is a great gadget to play with
If you guys do not mind there is also a similar magsafe by anker which can charge at 7.5W but is 5 feet long and is able to work with any usb c adapter. It is also cheaper than apple and you can use anker nano which is a 20W adapter but with less price than apple.
Lol. Standard Lightning cables are short too. A simple usb c extension cable solves this. And I can take it off with one hang easy. If you’re going to benefit from fast charging youll have a 20 watt adapter regardless, so your claim of this costing $60 is not accurate. All in all, poor review. Is the MagSafe charger necessary? No. Is it a cool $30 product to use with your iPhone 12 that frees up the lightning port? Definitely.
Yes. That is a dumb thing to complain about... the point of wireless chargers are to help save the USB charge port from being damaged over the entire lifespan of being plugged in and unplugged.
I thought that the magsafe charger would be the charger of my dreams, but now that I think about it in a less apple sheepy way and more of a consumer value way.......the magsafe charger isnt worth it.
I think a better approach to someone instructing me on what I should or should not buy based on their preferences is to show what are the characteristics of a device and let me decide if the device is worth it to me. Pointing out defects or limitations that are not obvious before you buy something is great. But one person's problem might be a non-issue for me. One thing not mentioned about the possible benefits of a magnetic charger is that you don't have to plug into and pull out of the lightning connector in the iPhone over and over and over again, which can wear out the terminals of any connector that is repeatedly plugged in and out. Cables are easily replaced, but the iPhone’s connector is not.
The thing that I like about it is that over the years I have had to clean out the lightning port in order to get my phone to charge and like having the charging option that isn’t dependent on whether or not my lightning port is clean But both charging options are great at the end of the day
I use a magnetically connecting charge lead. A small plug fits into the lightening socket (keeping it clean) and the small magnetic end of the lead snaps to it- just wave it close. No loss of efficiency, you can pull it free, the end is small (not a big disc). Better in almost every way.
@@afonsosalbrecht It does not collect the dust in the room, but in your pocket. You may like removing dust from inside your pockets, but most people do not. Especially when there is an easy fix. 20W charging without the losses, smaller, cheaper, what is not to like? Apple should have built in magnetic contacts from the start. I designed a personal gas detector 20 years ago, that used two contacts that both charged the instrument and communicated with it for settings and data logging dump. Simples.
I do clean the lightning port somewhat regularly and I do have this problem some time where depending where the phone is and how the connector is positioned in the port it might or might not charge , but will resolve after a cleaning

You need wireless to reduce port connector damage. My roommate literally snaps connectors by falling asleep on her phone
The wireless benefit is setting it down with ease, not picking it up since taking off a wire doesn’t require looking for a port or a wire. I don’t think that’s a big that you need two hands to unplug. Instead, it’s a feature because you can use your phone while it charges unlike a regular wireless charger.

Same. I guess it’s not „waterproof“ after all.

1)It’s easy to disconnect with 1 hand and definitely easier doing it 1 handed vs the lightning connector.

3) The short cord is not an issue if you use it as solely as an overnight charger by your bedside.

Agree with all of that.
You can definitely slide the puck off w/ one hand🤦🏾♂️
Fair points, but you can also use an extension cord for your power adapter. Also, if you use a multiport charger that connects to the outlet with a cord, it also solves the problem with having to be really close to an outlet.
Nice! I have been trying to find a way to rig it up in my 2020 Ram. Tried a few things but nothing stable yet.

The biggest benefits of wireless chargers are not tripping on cord and the no more in and the phone port constantly which eventually becomes loose or bent then phone doesn’t charge at all or has to be at weird angle and not be bumped.
I bought one recently and it’s the slowest of the slow. It never reaches the advertised watts
In a world where fast wired charging is reaching 100W or more, wireless charging doesn't even come half as close. Not only does it waste your time, but it also wastes electricity

Planning on getting one of these to use as a car charger so that I can keep my aux cord plugged in. some of these complaints are the most nitpickiest I've ever seen.
Which was why I purchased the mag safe charger.

its a magnet, you can just use your index finger to push it sideways off your phone to disconnect the charger
I’m getting it to avoid breaking lightning cables from being bent at the connection to the phone
@@max-_-6352 I found myself removing it by the cord. I think others will too and cause the cord to break.
If you're using it in a fixed location (nightstand, desk) just use double sided tape to stick it in place, so you can easily remove it with one hand.
You can't replace the cable.
it only comes in 1m version so you can eventually buy an extension cord for your adapter but that’s it.

You are right, that’s a dumb complaint! 🤦🏻♂️
Complaining about needing two hands to remove the charger sounds like quite a stretch. Hardly a dealbreaker.
YMMV.
Why not use an extension cord?
If you get a MagSafe STAND, then it's magic. The stand is the key. Same with Qi actually, having an upright stand means you can't misalign it.
“I need 2 hands to remove it” the point of the design is for it to stay on is so you can use your phone while charging wirelessly.

the battery is screwed in a few hours using the magsafe, I noticed that the battery goes down twice as fast as charging it by cable. Be careful because you can screw up the battery in hours and if in an emergency you use wireless charging, use a low-wattage charger so that it doesn't get hot and you don't have problems damaging it.

MagSafe is good for accessibility, many disabled people with spinal cord injuries can’t plug in their devices, and wireless charging is hard too.

wait a minute, if disabled people can't plug to their device, how do they separate MagSafe from their device?

I've gotten a method down for removing my phone off the MagSafe charger with one hand:

I was thinking of getting a MagSafe charger for my room when I’m laying down it should be good there but this guy made excellent points it would suck if it’s your every day charger that u have in your bag to take every where in case your iPhone dies
And buying multiple of these for your house or office would kind of suck if u always have to pull it off a regular wireless charger would be better then
Good points. Thanks for the comment.
(Just food for thought)
I have recently stopped charging my phone overnight...and now I am just charging it for about 2hrs each night. This has seemed to address the screen protector lifting problem while still allowing my battery to get a 100% charge.
“You still have to reach with 2 hands” 🤦♂️ this guy lazy
true
I dont think you get it. It is so easy. When I go to bed I just place my phone on my bedside table and it automatically aligns and charges well.
It’s also really comfortable to use in bed whilst watching something as then the cable can come out any side
Definitely.
Nice. Never thought of those issues you mentioned. Seems the benefits don’t outweigh the inconveniences.
Doesn’t look like it for me.
I don't think so.
Sounds like a personal issue you’re having rather then a device issue🙄
Just thinking about possible usage issues and had a little fun with it.
I will buy it
@@ChaitanyaOnTech what is the biggest benefit that you see?
@Televisjon that’s an idea.
I think it’s just ‘cool’
The thing that I like about it is that over the years I have had to clean out the lightning port in order to get my phone to charge and like having the charging option that isn’t dependent on whether or not my lightning port is clean
But both charging options are great at the end of the day
I use a magnetically connecting charge lead. A small plug fits into the lightening socket (keeping it clean) and the small magnetic end of the lead snaps to it- just wave it close. No loss of efficiency, you can pull it free, the end is small (not a big disc). Better in almost every way.
i had iphone for years and never had this problem. Maybe cleaning the room you are in is a better option at this point.
