John and Cassian little conversation is pure genius... no need to say too much but still understand each other and the professional they shown
How n why did he shoot him at first?
Kashif Reza After John confirmed to Cassian that he was working, Cassian knew that he had been sent to kill that high priestess lady. Unsure as to whether or not John had accomplished this yet, he asked "Good night?" as to ask if he had completed his task yet. John, knowing this, answers back approiately. "Afraid so." because he didnt even want to do it.
@@kashifreza1993 John was tasked with killing the woman who Cassian was tasked with protecting.

Well they both know each other, and john do not want to kill another old friend, just after he just killed the other, and he may be do not want to fight someone of cassian lvl then
I wonder if that's what many people do when they see their ex in public.
@@quannguyenle9775 i think it's already obvious that John has done something
@John lol and you expect him (a close John's mate with almost the same abilities as him) to believe It? Think a bit he is a trained Assassin that literally Lost everything, do you imagine him going to a party? Lmao with these comments
Yeah, i think it's about survival. You avoid fighting ennemies that reach your skill level because these kind of fights destroy you physically.
He could avoid the whole situation:
"John are you working?"
"No"
"Ahh ok then enjoy the concert"
Well, in the sense, lying would just made it worse. As the bodyguard of a VIP, seeing the most well known assassin in the world, just being in the vicinity. The conversation is just icing on the cake. But I think is a just a comment joke so yeah. Take it as you may.
@@Zury1ogen well not entirely a joke. John is very well known but he might as well just be there with a friend or something. These guys have social lives too. So if he lied he couldn't prevent the whole situation but it would give him more time so he wouldn't start shooting right away
Good point. But the social life, I don't think so. Both of them known each other through their line of work, which of course ended up someone dead. But they also have a sense of respect with each other, hence the conversation and killing each other, they did this as work. So basically seeing someone you know in your line of "work", even if he has someone else to distract Cassian, would made it obvious. IMO, Cassian already knew what happen the moment Baba Yaga, being in the concert, the conversation was the sign of respect before they had to do what is necessary, thats my opinion. Honor among Assassins.
Tony Montana dont know if you saw the prequel but very highly doubt that, John was working for people who were being elected to the high table in this movie and everyone (who were not as powerful people) knew and feared John, they knew he wasn’t just the typical assassin and why would he be there by himself dressed in a tactical suit after losing his wife, dog and just came back into work again
Shortly *after* this, he does go in to check, and finds his boss' body. If he suspected something had happened, he might do that anyway and there we are again.
Good idea, though.

What I find impressive is that none of the crowd were accidentally shot. 100% accuracy by John Wick.
Not a single person who isn't affiliated with that world is killed by John or any of the hitman in the entire franchise. Wick doesn't miss and doesn't kill Innocents, it's a code of that world I think.
@John Bear I hear ya bro. I'm sure in real life it's impossible to know a bullets trajectory after it's made impact with something. But who knows, maybe wick takes that into account and shoots people at different angles in an effort to minimize collateral damage. I think it's cool how they don't kill or hurt anyone not affiliated.
In the Red Circle scene in the first film when he's moving through the club crowd he deliberately shoots every goon with his gun at a steep down angle to avoid collateral damage. Interestingly, he doesn't do that here.
That focus is uncanny
They all watched amazed
Still the best scene in all 3 movies. This scene describes Wick perfectly: His speed, focus, agility, determination and forced to do what he does best.

Okay thanks for explaining this. I was wondering why Cassian didn’t take the shot at John after their stand off and just let him escape.

Small detail I just noticed: at 2:50. if you listen carefully to the music, its roughly playing at the same point when John starts jumping through the stage. subtle cue to show the events are happening concurrently.
Nice one I didn't notice that before
he also notices cassian just before he is shown in the frame. you can see johns eyes notice him and immediately the music begins to drown out because john is now soley focused on the threat and not the music or the party.

Lowkey one of the best things about the world building of John Wick is how the assassins and hit men respect one another. I thought that was pretty cool.
This is one of the few action franchises out there that builds up the protagonist as this legendary figure, and then, when the times comes to see him in action, he full-on meets the expectations set by all the buildup.
2:52 "Man, I am so fired" look

The fact that John Wick was able to defend himself within a crowd of people with a loaded gun and not hit any bystanders, as well as kill multiple attackers shows how beyond skilled he is.

This is action movie perfection. The audio mixing, pacing, attention to detail, cinematography all in harmony.

0:57 lol John pulled his weapon much faster, but he was so nice to put it away so that cassian had a chance 😂
Considering both didn't aim for headshots, they both never intended to kill each other at the time
If you look Cassie made the first move, John reacted to him pulling out the gun so John started later
I think Cassian beat him... just that the editing makes it look the other way.
Like John pulls his jacket forward with his left hand to make a clear way for his right hand to grab the gun.

2:08 was such a sick part of this scene. The patience after the reload is so heat!
What makes these scenes so amazing is how Reeves knows how to shoot, has excellent form throughout. Even when you see him take cover from gunfire, when he peaks out to return fire, the way he goes around that corner, he only pokes his head and gun out, minimizing his target profile as much as possible. Most guys who can even make it look good don’t have the awareness level to do that, always stick their entire body out of cover to shoot back.
Im taking note's
From 2:10 - 2:36 is just amazing. These movies may have simple plots but the stunt work is incredible. They really should have just left him and his dog alone.

Jr The Scout it's not movie logic. The explanation is in the material. If the material doesn't break then there is zero penetration of the suit and therefore the body. It still hurts because it is hitting essentially flesh. It's just not penetrating.
