Love how humble and grounded Denzel’s character is. Every bad guy he meets he gives them a chance then they make the wrong decision and f’s them up in the worst way they could imagine.
Well... the guy who wrote the script also didn't watch the first movies I guess... because what happened here is so completely unlike the McCall from the first two movies... very public, putting lots of innocent people at risk... and why would those gangsters walk away? They could've shot him on the spot. Doesn't make sense. Movie was good, so was Denzel... but the script was lacking so so much.
Really like that about Denzel's character Robert in these films. Doesn't go looking for trouble, always calm and collected and tries to actually give the bad dude's a choice and chance to do the right thing. A fairly humble man too and grounded. Then the bad dude's don't take that chance and it's the last thing they ever do and it's awesome just how easily he takes them down too and entirely justified too.
Robert in all 3 movies not once went to go look for trouble. He was trying to put his past behind him and just live a normal life like everyone else. He was also a really cool dude to all his friends and coworkers. But once the bad guys messed with the people he cared about, he unleashed the beast. And like you said he gave them chances too and they chose not to listen.

It’s a great scene. Denzel just kills it in this role. Let’s face it, he always kills it in any role that he plays. Dude is the 🐐! Equalizer 3 was a respectable ending to the the trilogy. The first one is still the best though.
My favorite part is around 4:30 after the bad guy walks away in his feelings, McCall is so poised he goes right back to his obsessive compulsive ritual of setting the table. Bad guy hasn’t left the room yet and he’s already took his eyes off and super focused on folding the napkin 3 times while staring intently 😂😂😂 It’s the little things Denzel does with this character that are genius

All 3 movies were so wonderful at adding such small "touches" to scenes. One of several in this one to show how little the young "kid" knew. Any professional would have realized the fact that Denzel didn't seem nervous or scared even though he should have been would have been a red flag that he was not just some average joe or tough guy want to be. Compare this to the scene of Denzel and the main bad guy from the first movie in the restaurant. You can tell the bad guy is not afraid of him BUT obviously realizes he is a professional and respects him and knows to take him seriously. The writing in all three movies is so well thought out.
