    This showed up in my feed today. This is what I have started using and it works like a dream on the kyllinga and chamberbitter that showed up this year in centipede this year after we had a hard freeze that damaged several spots. It takes about a week to start seeing the results and a few weeks to really know out the kyllinga but things like dandylions are gone in about 2 weeks. Yes, it's expensive but so is my time and this combo works without the lawn showing any signs of stress. I've used other products and the lawn yellows from it and it doesn't give as good of results on the broad spectrum. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work providing folks like me with information to help keep our lawns looking awesome.

    These companies need to hire you for advertising purposes. This video is EXCELLENT, even for a lawn goober like me. I have a huge problem!! The previous owners NEVER EVER EVER treated the lawn, and I have every weed that nature could grow. I need something that kills them all, especially "wiregrass", Bermuda, crabgrass, dallisgrass, and lots of broadleaf. What's the best combo product to use this fall to get a better start in the spring? I saw your video on creeping charlie, so I'm doing that now, but the rest of it will need a one for all after the summer heat.

From scratch you can use this product to eliminate all weeds and grass in your lawn. golfcourselawn.store/products/roundup-quikpro-weed-killer-5-x-1-5-oz-packs Dallisgrass is very difficult to control so you’re best bet is physically removing it.

    This is the best tutorial video on RUclips using Celsius. Love the comment about the box store brands end up costing you more over the long haul. I found that out the hard way. Also found out the expensive way I seriously need to use a blue or green dye because I get concerned if I hit a spot and end up spraying more than I should. The way you demonstrated how to apply this is exactly how I do it but I didn’t figure out the error in my way for a decade. Simple. Easy. Mix it up, spray, move on to other things. No reason to complicate killing common weeds in a warm weather yard.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  2 года назад +4

      They often recommend and offer guidance on doing so. I’m cases where you’re mixing product combinations that aren’t labeled, it’s recommended that you do a jar test. A jar test is where you mix a small amount of the products you’re combining to give any odd interactions to manifest.

      @@RonHenry Staring at my yard yesterday. It's basically perfect zoysia palisades. This is it's best time of year with new growth and reasonable warm temps and moisture. Except that I have nutsedge all over the place, and it seems recent. I figured out what I had done wrong. I have been mowing the weedy part of my lot AFTER my main yard, then parking the mower on the driveway and blowing it off before I put it away, and it's then covered in grass clippings (and seeds). I missed my second application of pre-emergent this year, and presto.... Nutsedge. And some other weeds too. I've got some Certainty and Celsius ordered and I think I need to do a broadcast application, as this stuff seems pretty scattered all over the lawn. Dont' have the experience to determine if the zoysia will choke these out, but I think nutsedge is pretty tough and chemicals are a good call here. Hopefully I can get this done before it gets much hotter, and the wife has a big party scheduled in a few weeks that I'll have to do this after in case the yard gets burned a little bit... sorry to ramble. maybe others can learn from my mistake just how important the pre-emergent is that I got lazy with.....

    Good advice, especially READ THE LABEL! I'm a professional applicator, and combos like this are my standard weed control fare
    TWO thoughts: 1) Identify the problem weeds and study labels online to see what weeds each herbicide actually control.
    2) BE AWARE OF COST! The professional-grade herbicides aren't cheap; they cost around $100 _each_ per container.

    • @RonHenry

      Hi Turbo TylerIX. Short of pulling it, you'll have a difficult time getting rid of the common out of your Tifway. There's not really a herbicide that will target only common Bermuda and not damage your Tifway as well. If it' really looks bad, you could try having them replace the sod. My base lawn is Tifway 419 and had a bit of common in it as well. I just ignore it for the most part. When it's all mowed short, you can't easily see it unless you're up really close. As always great video. This is a great combo I've been using in a dedicated 1 gal pump tank for spot treatments. I use such a small amount of product when mixing, both bottles will last for years. I recently mixed both at the high rate, took care of some nutsedge, crabgrass, and kyllinga. I accidentally over applied and a little by my mailbox. My Zenith Zoysia had some very slight yellowing and slower growth, but after a 3-5 days it was back to normal. The nutsedge in that area quickly turned black within a week.

    Curious how safe this mix is when the lawn is used by pets. My dogs romp on the lawn every day, and I am wary of letting them do that after applying this . How long should I keep them off the lawn after an application? They sniff everything and often lick dew off the grass in the morning, so I am very concerned about their health if I use such an approach.

    I just purchased my first home at the end of 2020 and the previous owner didn’t do ANY lawn care. Bare spots, every weed you can think of and multiple different types of grass. I’ve been hand pulling a lot of the easy stuff but after 2 years I’m down to rugged weeds that need spraying. I live in central FL and I’m trying to focus on the bits of zoysia to help them spread. I recently tried Tenacity. I saw on the bottle it says zoysia is sensitive to it so I used a patch as a test area. I’m 2 days in so we’ll see how it holds up. I may try your combo here next if it scorches my zoysia patch

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  2 года назад +1

      Hi Michael. It's not a good idea to spray Zoysia or any warm season grass with Tenacity. It's designed for cool season grass like Rye and KBG, not Bermuda and Zoysia. Celsius and Certainty are MUCH less likely the damage your Zoysia than Tenacity. If you haven't sprayed the Tenacity yet, I wouldn't do so. Hope this helps.

    DALLISGRASS!
    Hey Ron, just subscribed and enjoying your informative vids. I'm also a Georgia resident and have gotten familiar with the plethora of weeds down here; I'm finding your lawn care series very helpful. Thanks so much!
    One recent invader I've come up against is a beast called Dallisgrass; nothing seems to kill it save for spot treating it with Roundup. Rather than use a spray on it, I "paint" the leaves with Roundup using a small sponge brush (lotsa fun). The leaf-painting technique seems to limit collateral damage to my Zoysia and results in a relatively small dead spot. I looked up Celsius ...did a little online research ...and it seems Celsius does work against Dallisgrass. I haven't had personal experience, yet, with using Celsius against Dallisgrass, but I intend to shortly. You might consider adding controlling Dallisgrass ...maybe make a video on the subject ...because if you get this stuff in your lawn? It can literally take over your grass. The stuff is easily confused with crabgrass; as a DIY/Homeowner you're powerless to do anything about Dallisgrass with any of the consumer-grade herbicides ...save for a shot of Roundup on the plant. What I've read thus far seems to indicate a dedicated effort using both pre and post emergent treatments.
    One minor sugestion: you might consider letting folks know that "commercial grade" herbicides are expensive; the offset is how little you need and how long those bottles of Celsius and Certainty are going to last. Cheers!

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  2 года назад +1

      Appreciate the feedback Mike. Certainty will injure Dallisgrass. Celsius won’t do too much to it. There’s not really a residential herbicide that will eliminate it. Your best bet is to physically remove it. Otherwise it will keep
      coming back.

      @Mikado463 2 года назад
