The real show didn't start taking it on the road until 1997.

Even the Cheers writers wanted to brag a little, that this would be the “first” time the show went out on location, and that Cliff Clavin auditioned to be a contestant while it came to town.

Alex: "This is the very first time we've taken our program out on location."
In real life, Jeopardy never goes out on location unless it's for a special tournament. If Jeopardy were to travel then the returning champion would have to travel with them and that would be difficult, not to mention unfair for the returning champion. The writers just said that Jeopardy came to Boston so they wouldn't have to include Cliff(and his 2 supporters) going to California for Jeopardy and also so they could have a scene with Alex visiting the Cheers bar later on.

The real show actually did do a week of regular gameplay in Boston once in November 1998 at the Wang Theater.

They came for a week of taping to DC. I was lucky to see Alex Trebek on two separate days here...six episode tapings total.

It's funny the amount of people that really think this is real.

This episode reminds me of how awesome and epic the original Jeopardy theme was.

Cliff: Be that as it may, Alex, those people have never been in my kitchen.
Alex: Well, I’m sure they haven’t, but obviously, that’s not what we were going for, when we wrote up that clue.
    Cliff: Obvious to who?
    The JEOPARDY! writers, Cliff! 😂
But in fairness, that clue, as Alex mentioned to him, was improperly worded, in which provided more than one possible question.
    The more you know.

They should have invited the mother of Howard Walowitz, Debbie, to be on the show..

Every show has a top moment, the best highlight. For the Big Bang Theory it was when Amy ruined Raiders for Sheldon by pointing out the "glaring plot hole". Friends had Chandler banging his head on the cabinet drawer to which he was handcuffed. And for Cheers it was Cliff declaring that those three people had never been in his kitchen. True Story. 😅

I think that Cliff went "All in" on the Daily Doubles hence his humongous $22,000 score going into Final. And haha "$22,000 Big Ones!" (winds up with nothing of course!), should've wagered $1,701

I spoke to Tony Curtis at a celebrity convention back in the early 2000s and actually asked him if he had ever been in Cliff's kitchen and he laughed and replied saying, _"Many times..."_
...so as it turned out, Cliff LIED! 😁

Exactly, but in the end, that entire moment provided a classic and hilarious “wrong” response to a clue that clearly wasn’t worded properly, (especially on how they phrased the Final JEOPARDY! clue, in the first place) and Cliff admitting over and over again, that “those three people have never been in his kitchen.”
