Yes! I went into labor in 1990, (I was 30 yrs old) while watching Cheers and still watch it almost nightly. I don't know why but it gives me a secure feeling. No other show does that for me. I never tire of it!
@@gregquinn7817 strongly disagree. It's too sleepy of a show. I'd say that Cheers is more of a show about nothing than Seinfeld. If you ask someone who's watched a lot of episodes of both shows, I'm confident they will more vividly recall many episodes, scenes and lines from Seinfeld and have trouble remembering anything specific about Cheers. Cheers was more of a vibe that left general impressions of the characters: the dumb one, the drawn out romance, Carla's insults, etc. Probably the only specific thing they will remember is the theme song and "Norm!" Cheers was one of my favorite shows at the time because it had an ongoing "soap opera" storyline and the actors were mostly excellent, but today it feels too chill and rather drab. In any case Cheers is much more rewatchable than Friends, a truly insipid show that is remembered for the theme song alone.
This was my Father's favorite TV show. We used to eat dinner in the living room, watching Cheers. I wanted to thank the cast for all those years of laughs with my Father. He's not longer with us and seeing this show reminds me of him.

Back when everyone could talk about a show, because they all watched it. That era is gone for good, and so are guitar solos it appears. Things just change, and I'm beginning to understand the sadness of my grandparents' own sighs.
What made Cheers good was that the actors could actually act and every episode was always filmed in 1 take. George Wendt (Norm) made up all his one-liners whenever he entered the bar and the producers realized after season 1 that John Ratzenberger (Cliff) was so good at making stuff up that they stopped even writing lines for him and told him to just make stuff up whenever he wanted to, so almost everything he does in every single episode was completely ad-libbed.
My parents binge-watched "Cheers" when it came on Netflix. I began watching some episodes with them and got hooked completely by the time the third season rolled around. What a fantastic show.
Growing up in the 80s and first half of the 90s, I used to think if bars and pubs are just like Cheers, they must be the greatest places on Earth where you meet friends for life. Then towards the later 90s and 2000s I started to frequent bars and pubs and found out it's nothing like the fantasy of the Cheers TV show. I never saw a group of "white collar after work" regular crowd that showed up. Yes I've gone to a bar after work, but it's hardly like Cheers. It's rare to see anyone walk in dressed in a suit and tie, especially after 7pm when the 20 something party crowd shows up. Sometimes a woman has a dress on, but rarely. Usually, people are more dressed in a formal casual way, jeans and dress shirt, or sometimes in recent years just showing up in tracksuit and/or pajamas. I am sure someone will tell me they know a bar similar to Cheers, but all the ones I went to have regular barflies that are toxic people, more scummy folks. Cheers made me think that pubs were frequented by people over 35 on a regular basis, and yes you will find that group every now and then, but it's mostly a young young singles crowd instead of a Cliff Clavin or Norm Peterson. Three's Company's Regal Beagle had a more accurate, true to life bar than Cheers did that's true for the 80s and today, yes Mr. Furley or Mr. Roper could show up, but someone over age 35 or over 40 usually stuck out, and people dressed casually nice instead of walking in with a suit and tie on.
Remember in Toronto they aired the Cheers series finale in the Skydome (Rogers Centre) and it was sold out. That stadium held approx 41, 400 the year Cheers ended. Love that show! 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸
I was outside the Bull And Finch the night of the last episode. Beacon St. was closed off and metal bleachers set up out front on the street. I watched as the cast members showed up separately in limousines, with Woody standing up through the sunroof egging on the gathered crowd. Then as they got more & more drunk the would come to the open upper windows and rile up the thousands down on the street. Crazy night.
I remember watching that final shot in the last episode and then thinking, "What am I going to watch now?" I felt lost. Cheers was a reason to be home watching a great show. Thank goodness that it is still streaming and I can catch episodes late at night before turning off the lights.
And thank goodness for Frasier! I mean, sorry if you're one who doesn't like it.... me, I arguably love it even more than Cheers in some ways...but wish there were some more Cheers character cameos. Still have fingers crossed for some in the Frasier revival since it's set in Boston

Ted Lasso spoiler - Loved the little nod to 'Cheers' in the 'Ted Lasso' finale, when Mae (the bar owner) reaches up and straightens the same picture of Geronimo. Probably most know this, but 'Ted Lasso' star Jason Sudekis is the nephew of George Wendt. There was also an episode of 'Ted Lasso' with a conspicuously placed picture of Wendt (as Norm from 'Cheers') on the wall of a restaurant.
I remember every episode when i was a kid. One of the final episodes, that was pure greatness, was when Rhea Perlman made up one of her strong and famous drinks. Everyone got wasted, passed out at the bar and everyone had a massive hangover the next scene. Cliff called the bar because he didn't know where he was and Sam told him he was in the bar office. 😂 I never saw my Mom and Dad laugh so hard, I was young but I understood it and was laughing as well. It was a great show that will never be reproduced.

Greatest sitcom of all time! Still popular today!
I have GREAT memories watching Cheers with my mom, & we were so heartbroken when it ended! ! My mom & I LOVED Frasier (oh she adored this show) I want thank the WHOLE cast of Cheers & Frasier b/c of these BEST shows on TV, are my FAVORITE bc of the WONDERFUL memories I have w/my mom!! I just LOVED hearing my mom's laugh & she did A LOT of laughing when she watched these two FANTASTIC comedies!! I STILL watch Frasier & Cheers on Pluto bc they NEVER get old!! Oh & I also had a HUGE crush on Woody Harrelson he was absolutely ADORABLE!! ❤️😊❤️BOTH OF THESE SHOWS ARE GEMS!!
Same. Minus the crush.
Interesting that Woody, Kelsey and Rhea are not at the reunion
@@kevinsheldrick917it was probably just an interview rather than a true reunion. The other cast members likely didn’t live near the others - just a guess.
Thank you entertaining us!
I watched this growing up when it aired. I still watch this show on the regular, the writing is so good & smart. Bar Wars episodes are my favorite!
Diane saying, "Your Mama!" to Gary always kills me.
@@lnl3237 Yes! 🤣The Bloody Mary Contest is my favorite..."All part of the plan...Not Part of the Plan" or the Halloween episode where Gary "dies" lol!
Just an amazing show! Kirsty was fearless to replace Shelly after such a run…but she nailed it!
It was always on Friday Night in the Uk ❤️ loved it.
It was a great show that will never be reproduced.
and one episode, cliff and norm got drunk and woke up in the office, cliff said, this is weird, my underwear is really loose, norm said, that's odd, my underwear is really tight! and the hilarity ensues!
Plus they both realize that they have tattoos on their butts....Cliffs said I love Vera and Norm's said God Bless the US Post Office
I just watched that episode
Thank you! This made me smile in some pretty stress-filled times.
Cheers was such a great show and Frasier is one of my all time favorite sitcoms.
It's a shame Rhea, Woody, and some others didn't make it. Cheers and Mash were my go-to's.
Wow. Brilliant to get them all together.
I recently started re-watching this. The first 2 seasons were really hilarious.
The early yrs of most great sitcoms are usually the best. Fresh & funny ideas get hard to come up with. It was a great run,you forget how much we missed something.
Just a wonderful show, thank you to all the Cheers cast and crew.
