I was adopted at birth and I absolutely love my adopted parents. As a white couple, my husband and I adopted two black children from foster care. We did not pick either of our children. As foster parents, we were called and asked if they could place each of them into our home (temporarily, not permanently). My son came to me as a foster child at 1 as a result of domestic violence and drug abuse. My daughter was abandoned in the hospital following her birth at 23 weeks old. She tested positive for 5 different illegal drugs. Both were medically fragile children. We were NOT fostering to adopt and we chose to adopt them once the courts deemed them unable to return to their home environment. We were the only parents they had ever known. Why and/or how, after pouring years of love into them, could we just hand them over to another family for permanency which would have created unnecessary trauma for both of them. I am homeschooling both of my children because I will not allow the public school system to exposed them to CRT or DEI. We are raising them as human beings based on biblical principles. They are both very active in extra curricular activities such as guitar lessons, baseball, basketball, softball, and cheerleading. They get exposed to a very diverse group of children where they are treated as human beings with very little focus placed on anyones skin color. Do we know we look different? Of course we do. Does it play a major factor in our everyday lives? No it does not. We will love and let love. We may not be the best choice, based on the opinions of others on social media (not that we care) but we are doing our best to love them and make sure they have the exact same opportunities we gave to our biological children (all 3 grown with kids of their own now).

Me too! My husband and I felt compelled to get involved to help two kids whose mother could not care for them, after we raised our 4 bio kids into adulthood. These children could not return to their family of origin for a variety of reasons, so we chose to adopt to give them stability. The looks and comments from the community they came from can be a little taxing at times, but, we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to have more children! And would do it again if the opportunity presents itself, all children need a loving a stable home to have the best chance in life.

Anton I have an acquaintance that’s think’s like you on this topic. He feels speaking on oppression and racism is pointless bcuz he was able to start a company and make himself some money. I was there for his journey to making some money and starting his company. He received No after No when trying to access credit. He was looked at like how did you get here being a young black man at the companies that he worked for. He repeatedly had money stolen from his check by a white man. When he complained about it to the higher ups (white men) in the company, they did nothing about it.
Racism isn’t debatable, it exists. It is carried out systematically through banks and their lending processes, jobs and who they will hire, who they will promote, and how much they will pay when you are black. And racism is also carried out by individuals. Let’s not forget Jim Crow laws as well as Redlining. Do the research on where food desserts are located. Do the research on where planned parenthood’s and liquor stores are located. How did projects even come into existence??? What’s there purpose??? Who runs the music industry??? Who runs the public schools and decides what they teach??? Why are black men and women mistreated at a much higher rate than other races when going to receive medical treatment??? How do white cops treat black ppl when they encounter them??? I can keep going on and on pointing out present day oppression and racism.
Jas is right about the importance of teaching your black child how white america as well as other races will likely treat him in most situations. You should prepare them for the good and the bad and build their confidence, resilience, resources, and work ethic up to position them for success in this society.
I’ll end with this statement. Racism and oppression are very present today, but so are opportunities for success for black folks.

Wrong. Lending practices aren't based on race. It's based on the institution's assessment of your ability to pay it back. Black people have worse credit and less collateral and, therefore, are more unreliable when it comes repayment..

How better to show it and prove it?
Than by using them? Showing themselves to themselves... everyone
They can't claim you putting words in their mouths, can't claim they are being excluded, can't claim they are being misconstrued, etc etc.

@@rgtunderworldrgt7773 I get it but it’s old at this point! These women add ZERO to the conversation and some of the men too. I’m not saying that a person like Jas Noelle needs to agree with everything BUT debate with logic and facts. When I hear the data and stats, I’m going to at least reply by saying, “I’m going to look that up”. These women debate with their feelings and emotions way too much. The thing that really gets me is, Jas Noelle contradicted her own rhetoric by saying “the facts are facts” trying to justify her own narrative of an argument. I like a healthy, fact, stat proven conversation. Once a person starts to respond with a bunch of feeling based talking points, knowing they didn’t do ANY research, the conversation is over. Conversations like these are meant for those who can critically think and can step outside of the box. Jas Noelle simply is not on that level along with a few other guest on the panel.

Do most black people who have this view not even know that sold by black people and to get a slave from Africa they were likely to die from a disease if they traveled farther than the coast to get slaves. So our own people would bring (Black) captives to exchange for raw materials, and also the three biggest slave breeding companies in what we call now America were owned by black people, also to add the cherry on top most of the bottom half of white people were also classed as slaves to be sold the same way it’s almost like slavery was a tribal thing instead of race.
If more people did their own research they would know.
If you really let racism hold you back at this point you just want life handed to you. I advise people to work for what they want instead of crying about something you weren’t alive for

lol raw materials??? See this gotta stop, this bullshit about us selling each other into slavery is exaggerated bullshit I know history you can’t come at me with no ignorance. What raw materials did Europeans have that Africans didn’t lol. They never exchanged guns on a mass scale for slaves that’s bullshit. The Europeans were not giving up the very weapon that were helping them enslave Africans. There is no proof of an slave exchange, Africans would have built wealth during that period but they didn’t.. there were colonized at the same time we were getting sent over here to the Americas. The kingdoms fell during the slave invasion it wasn’t a slave trade it was an invasion of Europeans that colonized Africa. That’s a myth that we sold each other. Go do some research your ignorance is showing.
