Shame on you, RUclips creators, for perpetuating discrimination against other black people for likes and money. Instead of spreading misinformation, take a trip to Jamaica and ask the locals about their thoughts on Americans. Remember, Jamaica's motto is 'Out of Many One People' - a powerful symbol of unity and diversity. It's time to debunk the myth that Jamaicans think Black Americans lack culture. In reality, Jamaicans love and welcome Black Americans, which is why so many visit their shores. Don't sacrifice the unity of black people worldwide for fleeting fame and fortune. We're stronger together, and our differences are far outweighed by our commonalities. Let's stand united, respecting and uplifting each other as one people.

Ok, lets solve the problem, theres an African American Reperations Fund on GOFUNDME, lets shut this shit down right now, if we wont work together on this I dont know what to tell yall, $1 x 1m people = $1m. Now imagine doing that 50 times. $50 from ever black person in America could change our entire community, but lets see what the real problem is. I dont understand why we are still waiting on them people to change something for us, wtf are we 12? Do we need our hand held? WHY ARE WE WAITING??? The lady from Tulsa is a prime example, shes still alive and they still threw the case out for her Reperations, I cant sit here and watch us become sitting ducks for another 4 years, time and time again they have shown us they do not give a Fuc
About us, they gave the immigrants free housing and debit cards before they gave it to their own veterans who actually sacrificed for us to be here. They will do everything in their power to keep us in the working class WAKE UP and stop relying on somebody else to do the job for us, we have the resources. $1 from at least half of us every other week is enough to OFFICIALLY build Black Wallstreet just like Chinatown in every major city in America. 1 street with all those scattered black businesses moved there, Doctors, lawyers, financial advisors, restuarants, boutiqes, dentist, temp angencies ect. All on 1 street and all from $1. Were making it more complicated than it has to be. All the money goes into furthering any POC's financial stability and ideas as long as they support, if those people dont support they do not deserve to reap the benefits. Lets build Black Wallstreet please, yall making my head hurt, its not that hard

Unfortunately the ignorance about Africa is not surprising at all.
Countries have very little to do with cultures in Africa. The different cultures are more associated with the tribes/ethnic groups that have existed long before America was a thing (before slavery even). These tribes have there own languages, different food, different religion, traditional rulers and festivals. These tribes are even genetically different.

African American culture has been marketed and distributed around globally. That's one reason why it's so popular. We all have culture. What differentiates us of African descent is our traditions, rituals, and customs. In certain African villages and towns, they celebrate specific culture festivals dedicated to an event or persons. I'm from New Orleans, and our culture is unlike anywhere else in the continental USA. We have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly Afro Creole cultural activities that define our lives. There's traditions we uphold. There's rituals we perform. There's customs we pass on to the youth. It's in our foods, speech, spirituality, music, and dance. Jazz Funerals and Secondlines are good examples. This African amalgamation of ethnicities became who we are today. It's in our DNA. Start where you stand. For all these reasons, Congo Square is our African foundation for roots and culture.

Liberation of the African people was started by Black Americans and Black Caribbeans who went to Africa to Liberia 🇱🇷 and Sierra Leon after the end of slavery in USA and Jamaica 1890. One of them was a black American freedom fighter called DuToit from New York. Africans must thank Black Americans and Jamaicans for Liberation and independence of the African Continent because it was started by the black diaspora from America and the Caribbean with the help of Marcus Garvey. The problem is that black people don't learn and study their history period.

Africans are grateful for that and will always be, because the initiative was good Africa. But let me inform you:
The history of Liberia, particularly during the 19th and early 20th centuries, is marked by complex interactions and conflicts between the Americo-Liberians (freed African Americans who emigrated to Liberia) and the indigenous African populations. Here are some of the key issues and events that illustrate the conflicts and injustices:
      1. **Social Hierarchy and Discrimination**: Americo-Liberians, who established Liberia, created a social and political system that marginalized the indigenous African population. They often viewed themselves as superior and imposed their own culture, language, and governance structures on the indigenous people.
      2. **Land and Resource Control**: The Americo-Liberian settlers often took control of the most fertile lands and resources, displacing indigenous communities. This led to significant economic disparities and resentment among the indigenous population.
      3. **Forced Labor and Taxation**: There were instances where indigenous Liberians were subjected to forced labor and unfair taxation. The Americo-Liberian government implemented policies that required indigenous people to pay taxes in cash or kind, which was often burdensome and exploitative.
      4. **Political Exclusion**: The political system established by the Americo-Liberians excluded indigenous Africans from meaningful participation. The True Whig Party, dominated by Americo-Liberians, maintained power for over a century, creating a de facto oligarchy that marginalized the majority indigenous population.
      5. **Violence and Repression**: There were instances of violence and military repression used against indigenous groups who resisted Americo-Liberian rule. These conflicts often resulted in loss of life and further entrenched divisions between the settlers and the indigenous people.
      6. **Cultural Suppression**: Americo-Liberians often attempted to suppress indigenous cultures and traditions, promoting Western values and norms instead. This cultural imposition created additional tensions and resentment.
The legacy of these actions has had a lasting impact on Liberia's social and political landscape, contributing to longstanding divisions and conflicts within the country.

One thing I hear from foreign black people is that African Americans treat the like they’re stupid cuz their english isn’t good or they act like they’re better then them. I’ve also seen it happen myself. Most foreigners tell me that black people are the one who treat them the worst and since I’ve seen it happen myself I can understand why some foreigners don’t like black people. But I’ve also seen how black people embrace others as well. Honestly I think people just need to stop grouping whole groups and saying it’s all when really it’s a few individuals.

    1.. in tribes.
Africa has so many tribes in culture like the masai of kenya..the yoruba people in Nigeria... the fulani in mali and Guinea ..etc.
In Dressing.. they wear their African cultural attire.. gowns.. fenti clothes in Ghana.. The agbada clthes in Nigeria.. etc
In music.. Have these American guys ever had about the African soukous.. or the Congolese rumba in Ningala that dominated Africa on the 60s..70s .. 80s and 90s.. not to talk about the Nigerian power stars.. Prince Niko ..
In food.. Africa has foo foo.. gari.. ugali. cassava leaves... so many more cultural foods that can not be listed..
So please remember that Africa has 54 countries with a well diverse culture.. Africa invented their own music.. built their own drum and banjo sticks.. and so on..
So for this guy to come out here and say that Africa doesn't have a culture is a joke..

Yoruba as a language predates the modern English language by over 5 centuries. Black Americans are just funny people, the reason why people "dress like you" is because of Hollywood. Hollywood created the "cool black kid" character in almost every sitcom in the 70s and 80s. Hollywood has always had an insane reach, so the more kids consumed that content, the more they wanted to dress like those characters. It's like how everyone including black people wanted to learn martial arts due to the volume of those kind of movies Hollywood made back then. Same thing is happening with japanese and Korean culture, thanks to manga and kdrama. There is nothing special about black American "culture", baseball hats were made for "baseball", Nike shoes were made for basketball. The fact that some of those companies made you guys mascots and had Hollywood sell that image doesn't mean it was made for you. It doesn't originate with you. Our culture originates with us, our languages, our cuisine all originates with us. Frying originated in Africa, consumption of chicken originated in Israel, water melon is indigenous to west Africa, your mothers wear big hats to church because there is a festival of hats in Nigeria, the braids you harass people for originated in Namibia etc. Give me something original about you guys

Dude just forgot to mention that there are more 2000 ethnicities in Africa which have their languages, Cuisine, Art, Folclore and Music, and before there were the modern Countries of Africa, there were the Kingdoms and Empires that Arabs and Europeans destroyed, but not all trends created in America are absorbed or incorporated in Africa, needless to say many things created by Black Americans were also inspired by African Culture or had a African Contribution, from Blues, to Jazz, to Soul, to Rock, to Hip-Hop & Rap.
For example, the Peanut Butter that is very popular in USA it’s know to be introduced by a Black Man, and why I say introduced and not invented, because it’s an Ingredient in many African Traditional Cuisines, especially in West and Southern Africa, where most of the Slaves brought to USA came from.
What must be comprehended is that Black Americans are losing their Culture because of the Breakdown and Destruction of Black American Families, because families sticking together and creating Communities is what keep cultures alive.
Today in USA you have Soul, R&B, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Country Music, Hip-Hop & Rap, but not all of these genres were incorporated in African Music nor are commonly listened, because we have are own, the only USA music genre incorporated in African Mainstream Music is Rap, and even with the African Population being mostly Young (under 20 Years Old), Rap is not most listened Genre among them, because we stick to our Culture first.
As I said before, the criticism of today Black American Culture by Africans and Caribbean has everything to do with what Black America has become, mainly the Ghetto Culture that the Media Mainstreams, because if You a Caribbean or an African were Rap, Rock, Funk, Soul, Jazz, R&B come from, they will explain, but They put always their music genres first, because of culture.

He knows nothing about Africa, but I'll say this; Slavery lasted longer in Africa than most people know, and the movie “La Amistad” is a proof. The “Freed slaves” he's talking about weren't sent back for any good reasons. They were sent back to continue colonial rule and maintain colonial establishments. They were also sent back because after the abolition of slavery there were so many unemployed ex- slaves roaming the streets of Europe, and so one option was to send people back like the English P.M is doing now. Read about what the French did to countries who asked for their freedoms and said they wanted nothing to do with them ex. Guinea, Conakry. The change in African culture happened because of reasons, like: 1. Survival: Africans were forced to change their old ways because things like land tax, system of governance was implemented (Hut tax war, Sierra Leone). 2. Education: The colonizers brought education that was supposed to be paid for with money that never existed. 3. European dress standard became a norm for people to be able to have access to places like, schools and jobs.

The hispanic men are the worst when it comes to racism. Now I live around other races of people who don't like us, including Africans. Many are disappointed to find out that we are on the same playing field as them.

My first few experience of discrimination came from African Americans and FBA. Somewhere in my junior year, I realized it was a lost cause so I went my own way and never looked back. I’ve become very successful in life cos of it.

As a diaspora African decandents from the carebeans of slavery emigrated to the US in my early youth, there is a great contrast with African Americans vs carebeans. Carebeans have been stuck with a mix culture, of the colonizer and a bit of their own. which has little of Africa. Their way of thinking is more undermining towards white people while African Americans went their own way, separated themselves from white people and therefore created their own culture, which is the leading culture and the culture of America. Their culture is in almost everything like their music culture that no one can ignore wherever you go on this planet, which is the leading and basic of all types of music that man could ever imagine on this planet. Our enchesters of the carebeans have experienced slavery that is where it ended, but it did not end with African Americans they still had to endure those terrible lynchings, Jim Crow, medical experiments, police brutality etc.which was all about cleansing the us of the black race but they didn't succeed because African Americans showed solidarity with each other and have endured all these horrible present where other groups had long disappeared in this country like they did with the natives..that's why I don't understand the hate of carebeans towards African Americans?? they are the pride of we black people with their beautiful culture and many inventions on this planet they have continued where we left off with everything this group has had to endure and thanks to them the American dream originated where everything is possible in this country they build

Hmmm… As a Caribbean/American man to parents from both the Caribbean and mainland (what we refer to as America), I have a unique perspective. Since less than a year old, I traveled back and forth every year to spend time with my dad for the summers.
What I think Caribbeans, Africans, Black Brits are trying to say is the following:
    - Despite being born to the respective locations mentioned above, there is a nurturing of history, identity, and greatness as a people. This nurturing is both protected and insulated from whatever external influences are at play, despite their coexistence.
    - In the above mentions locations (example Caribbean), we grow up learning about our regional culture before and side by side American culture.
    - In our communities, we see Blacks in all positions or success, so we see no limitations, due to conflicting ethnic grows trying to suppress (micro aggressions, racism, etc.) our culture/identity. It just isn’t tolerated.
    - In America, American Blacks have had to deal with coexisting cultures from slavery to present. On top of this, their identity has been influenced by those who wish to keep them suppressed or from achieving their greatness as a people without external meddling from other cultures.
    - As for the guest speakers comments about Black Americans being too generous and other Black communities taking what they have created, I challenge him to list any time in American culture where Caribbean culture has influence America and Black Americans significantly. Marcus Garvey, Toussaint Louverture, Malcom X, James Weldon, Bob Marley, etc. anyone?
    - Caribbean culture are the distinct customs, foods, music, vernacular, dances, etc. that each Caribbean island is known for. While many of these things overlap from island to island, each island has their unique twist on customs, speech, food, etc.
What I think Caribbeans, Africans, and Black Brits are trying to say is their identity is instilled by their respective cultures who had made it paramount that they know who they are, their greatness as a people, etc. in a way that is insulated from the potentially harmful actions of those who wish to see them fail.
Lastly, I once argued with an African doctor who was looking down on Black Americans. I simply asked him two question…. Do you think the average Black American growing up was afforded an upbringing that nurtured and supported their identity in a way that there are no limits to their greatness? Do you think that their identity is as solidified as yours which has been forged in a protected culture untampered with by other ethnicities trying to suppress them?
