- The owner of this beautiful X2 called us hoping that we had a solution to remote start his BMW. Lucky for him, we have a solution that works PERFECTLY for his BMW. The T12 remote gives him up to 3 miles of range, while the Drone Mobile app gives him UNLIMITED range!

Cool stuff may I ask which brain you used for BMW X2?
can you still remote start the vehicle with the factory key fob
Yes we can, however, you are limited to the poor range of your factory key fob. We would recommend spending just a bit more to get the ability to start off your phone or a fob with extended range.
Hello, thanks for the video! Have you ever installed bmw comfort access for x2, 2018? Wondering if it is possible to add that to mine, after browsing online does not look like x2 is compatible.
@dianapetrova6799 if you are located near Fargo, ND please give us a call at 701-353-7266 and we can talk about pricing and options. Thank you.
I like my current factory remote start, it heats my seats and does auto hvac.... Will i loose these features by getting a T12 system?
Every vehicle is a bit different. I would reach out to a professional near you to have them look into your particular vehicle. Thanks for watching!
@theaudiogarage7461 They tell me that I will lose everything. But what I don't understand is why the compustar brain cannot simply call the factory remote start to engage instead of re-inventing the wheel.
But should the cars new auto start system be connected to internet for you to start the car from the other side of globe?
A lot of German vehicles do not come with remote starts on them from the factory. The Drone Mobile system we installed does allow this slient to start it from anywhere in the world though. Thanks for watching!
Can you please let me know what the remote start takeover procedure is on a non PTS vehicle with a T12 (and possibly the newer CMX brain module)?
If you unlock/disarm the vehicle and open the door, do you press the brake before turning the key on? Or turn the key on THEN press the brake?
Takeover is going to depend on the vehicle. For instance, the vehicle in this video does not have takeover. Thanks for watching!!
@The Audio Garage Thanks, yeah I am looking at installing a cmx/t12 in a older vehicle that is also getting the VAIS SEER Pts system. So thinking of how I might integrate the two systems and still get a seamless remote start takeover procedure.
In this install you did, did you use the PIC inputs configured as arm and Disarm inputs to allow the factory system to arm / Disarm the compustar?
I was planning to do this to let the rfid kit arm/Disarm the compustar. It is cool that the remote will give feedback when controlled from external system!
@@HAMMER_2.2 rather than doing the T12 and the SEER in your vehicle, I would recommend having a professional install a Compustar Pro T13 instead. This will give you the same range, a better remote, better warranty, plus proximity lock and unlock, all built into the same remote.
This company selling same stuff since 5 years may i ask what is the year of manufacture of ghis alarm
I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question. The remote start was manufactured just months before we installed it. They are custom built specifically for the vehicle.
does it cost monthly for the phone start?
@mr3stacks532 yes. There is a small subscription charge for Drone Mobile. Follow this link for more information on subscriptions www.dronemobile.com/subscriptions
I just got mine you get a month free then $10 a month after that
Would the T12 work on my 1990 miata if I have an aftermarket central locking system?
@aluhn3759 yes, the T12 should work just fine with your aftermarket locking system. There will be additional hookup and relays to get it working, but it will work.
Drone is awful it loses service and it never refreshes and is just a nightmare in my personal experience with it so I think it's just best to get the 3 mile remote and have that instead. That being said on my 4 runner I bought a CSX4905S-KIT off a buddy that didn't want to install it on his vehicle and was gonna put it on my 4 runner but I was just wondering it has a 1,200ft remote but on my other vehicle I have the 3 mi T12 remote and I love it so I'm just wondering if you couldn't just upgrade the remote to T12 with this CSX4905S-KIT? I mean I'm sure you might have to get a different antenna right or is that possible to upgrade to that t12 remote with this kit already.
Sorry to hear you are having issues with Drone Mobile. I would recommend calling them at 1-888-820-3690 then choose option 1. There is a good chance you either have an out of date module running off 3G instead of 4G, or you may not have good AT&T service where you park and it may need to be swapped out for a Verizon module. We have installed thousands of Drone Mobile modules and our clients absolutely LOVE them. As far as your second question, you would need to purchase a whole new antenna and remote kit. The brain in that kit will work, but you need a different antenna and the T12 remote itself.
@@theaudiogarage7461 gotcha thanks for the reply.. Is it pretty hard to program that T12 remote to the brain box I got once I get the other antenna installed and have the t12 remote? On the other hand I did call up the drone customer service and they had me go threw all the reset stuff and it will come back sometimes with the soft reset with key and other times not and you have to disconnect the negative battery terminal and call them to send signal to get it to come back online. Then he looked at mine on his end and was saying it was the Verizon one but not sure if it's a 3g or 4g. I do like the drone when it's working it's great I just figured with that 3mi remote like my other car I can start it where I want to and then don't have to pay the monthly on the drone. Only reason I was not to concerned with my drone on Camry was because I have that 3 mi remote on that one there and I bought with the T12 remote so it was already set up that way.
I've been looking online for a diagram everywhere. The x2 2018 is not compatible. I found out that you have to pull out the integrated system and do some welding on it to bypass. I am interested on how you did it? Please let me know. I am stuck with my bmw x2 2018, and I really want to put a remote start compustar with drone on it. Please reply thank you
Hello Simon, the 2018 BMW X2 is compatible with a remote start. This is not the type of vehicle that I would recommend a DIYer attempt. Please reach out to a professional shop in your area and they should be able to install a remote start for you. Thank you for watching.
@@theaudiogarage7461 I'm from NY, I went to a couple of stores around my neighborhood, they are afraid to do it because of some welding they need to do to bypass it. If you guys were in NY, I gladly come over. Is there any instructions you could share ? Thank you for replying back.
Hello Simon, I don't know what "welding" they are talking about. We can't share any instructions unfortunately. I would expand your search to other places. It is very possible to install a remote start in this vehicle if you know what you are doing. Thank you.
@@theaudiogarage7461 Thank you, I guess I will continue the google search. Thank you for letting me know it is possible. He told me that the compustar dealership only show the diagram for 2016 bmw x2 idrive, not the 2018 series.
U need a plug and play device from Canada if I’m not mistaken to make it compatible to compustar
Will
This work in a 2018 x5 m sport?
Yes it will! If you live in the Fargo/Moorhead area, please feel free to give us a call and we can get your set up with an appointment. Thank you.
It's better to not let the factory fob control the compustar system.
We've installed quite a few remote starts on BMWs and the way that this system integrates, the factory fob works perfectly with our system.
I want to install this on my dodge Durango 2017 , so I can remote start the car and then once I use my keyless entry the cars going to turn off and then I need to get in the vehicle and turn it on again??? I have push to start. If that’s true, is there any way around it. Usually I start the car from my remote, touch the door, it unlocks, I get in and touch the button and take off. I’m trying to stay that way
A professional will have no problem installing this remote start in your Durango. Reach out to a Compustar dealer in your area and they should be able to help you out no problem. Thank you for watching!
@@theaudiogarage7461 you must have not read what I was asking..
@@texaslopez5846 we did read what you were asking. I would ask that question to the professional that you have install the remote start for you. We can tell you that if we were to install this remote start in your Durango, the vehicle would not shut off when the door is opened. Depending on who you have install it and what harness and method they use, your results may vary. Thanks again.
