Personally I don't count that as a death as it's required. If it's a solo and you "die" but it doesnt say duty failed, it's required. Duty failed is a true death imo
FINALLY! No one noticed they got rid of the "glib" line, I was so crestfallen when I noticed. It makes more sense than when it was included, but RIP glib
aw man, I'm sorry if people have been negative, thats definitely undeserved. content like yours & rath games (creator currently doing solo only) are some of my favourite ffxiv content! creative and fun ideas with entertaining people narrating. thank you!
Grats on beating ARR. I actually never saw the reworked Lahabread fight before so I had no clue that what happened would actually happen. That's definitely a lot more epic than the old version used to be!!
Oh my god so THAT'S why I've been getting out of cutscenes faster than other people, I've been playing on japanese so I've sometimes been a full minute faster out of the cutscenes. I can't believe I've only figured it out now.
I've also accidentally found out that if you lose connection to the server during an unskippable cutscene and then come back in you don't have to watch it. this lead to me sitting watching actually nothing during prae with no way of knowing when everyone's cutscene would be done
hey, i was the tank in castrum meridianum! if id realized who was in the party sooner i would have paid more attention lol, would hate to be responsible for your first death. looking forward to the rest of the series!
I TOO, WAS UNHAPPY WITH THE LOSS OF OUR GLIB. I did it the other day in roulettes and was upset. Grat's on ARR btw, from one scot FFXIV player to another.
I knew there was a scripted "game over" during Lahabread's new fight, but I didn't know it actually counted in terms of game mechanics! That's actually pretty cool. Congrats on making it this far.
I enjoyed this set of fights a lot. I didn’t expect the spoiler event to be real and prompt a tutorial. I figured there was something else happening behind the scenes. It’s an interesting fun fact though
I cant belive that you make me wanna give ff14 a try again with those videos, but i cant help it. watching it really brings me back into the mood. als because i wanna experience all those changed dungeons aswell.
I knew about the plot death but I didn't actually think it counted as a real death, with damaging effects and all that. I thought it was just for show. I actually started playing for the first time december last year, so I never knew about how the old content used to work.
I didn't know about the SPOILER but I really like the change Squeenix made! Nicely done and honestly I've had wipes on MSQ roulette recently. I think people are surprised that you actually have to pay some attention now!
Congrats on making it through ARR! I knew about the lahabread but I also assumed you did, so it just made it funnier that you didnt. I am sorry people are being negative about this series, but I love it! so yeah. As for the Unglibbening, it upset me too, I liked it even when we didnt get to choose a comment that he would consider us Glib.
Oh so thats how the new lahabrea trial looks like, i gotta say that the reworks to lahabrea fight and cape westwind have been awesome to see from this perspective
im not sure if youve gone over it, but i believe you can change your cameras perspective with CTRL arrow keys, to make it higher or lower. if you fantasia to a lalafell and want it to still be eye level, lower it. or maybe you arent that intense about how first person is first person, youre the player here, fiddle with it if you want.
Is there something up with the audio balancing in my game? The version of Ultima that plays in your video sounds WAY different than what I'm used to! It's wild to see how many things you normally don't notice in the background of dungeons, like the far off buildings in Praetorium. Been loving the series, can't wait to see how far you push this character exclusively in first person.
People thought you were trying to use XP as an excuse to show off? Bruh that's an honest mistake, enemies used to give XP in dungeons so I wouldn't be surprised at all if people sometimes forget that.
I hate new Castrum and new Prae, because they ruin the entire vibe of the huge hurdle and challenge that's going on in the story. Them being "refined" into 4-man encounters is the biggest let-down that Square could have done. It's so bad, the new ones are just boring, barring the final encounters since those are the ones that received the most changes. Would much rather do the old versions with 8 full people taking down these two very critical points of interest to the Garlemald Empire.
Oh yeah, it was so much better when people just ran past all the enemies while one person was left behind hoping he could interact with the interactable stuff so he could move on to the next screen. If he was too slow though he was stuck there with the hordes of enemies everyone ignored.
@@ruily276 Sure, that's what people did for Prae, but you could also have just.... done it like normal. I've been in quite a good amount of groups that did it like normal, and I think my first time was done normally too. Prae of eld was just better realized, the checkpoints and teleporters should have been locked down priot to killing all the enemies. But to actually explore, infiltrate and annhiliate the entire facility is way better than being teleported to a few spots for literally no reason at all. Praetorium was a massive deal for Garlemald, even without the Ultima weapon. It was their biggest opperation on the entire Eorzean contintent, barring maybe Gyr Abania. What it is now? A joke of an instance.
@@ArcadiaP Cool that it worked out for you but my first time doing prae was completely ruined by the fact that people speedran the whole thing and got me stuck several times. I literally missed 50% of the whole dungeon and had to teleport to every boss. It was a miserable experience for every new player. Even more so before they introduced unskippable cutscenes.
@@ArcadiaP 4 man forces you to only have lb2 until you reach ultima which makes the scene where you get lb3 through hydaelyn for the very first time even more impactful.

how very glib :c
Lots of people noticed it was missing come-6.3
It was by design?!
I'd heard about it but I'm one of those ones who started the fight early cause I'm playing in Japanese, lul.
What music played during that?

I'm so mad at you for playing flow for that section, great vid!
Actually I've not gone back to beat Lahabrea since they've changed it... (Or Cape Westwind.) So I had no clue that there is a required death. 😆
I love how important my husband (nero) is to teaching players now
Wait, you could respond to Gaius? That's why we have awkard silence, makes so much sense

Eeeeh, I don't think that bit counts. It was a cutscene.
Great music editing. Made it nice and epic.

i always just put on bloodbath on the outside and eat the aoes in prae

I concur with everyone on the scripted death not counting.
I wouldn't count that as a death in my opinion, since that's scripted. I mean you can if you want but I say that's a free pass
