Easily one of my favorite plugins ever. It's made making drums a pleasure. One thing that blows me away is how it can give me results that sound like a loop off a record, but they're all oneshots. You did a great job of representing it well here.
To the person reading this, we don’t know each other and our paths may never cross again, but I wish the best in life for you. Remember to love yourself and never stop loving yourself, you’re a beautiful human being and the world wouldn’t be the same without you in it, you mean so much to so many people, including me. Enjoy your journey and keep your head up, from a small RUclipsr you may never find again
Everything you recommend has increased the quality of my music. Had my eye on XO for a bit, now I’m looking forward to giving it a try! Thanks for another great vid!
I think you’ve just sold this better than anyone has on RUclips. 😆 I’ve had an opportunity to buy it discounted for a long time but, I never saw a purpose for using it until now. Thanks, dude ✌️
Been using XLN for a few years already. Also easy to send each drum part to its own channel, manipulate etc... Use also the midi to make some changes...
Here's my review of XO: Good plugin, but by no means a musth-have. I've always enjoyed making drum loops, so XO seemed to tick all the boxes: AI tagged sound selection + capable step sequencer + save & load both kits & grooves. What's not to like? In practice, the XO window is not resizable. The tiny interface on my 13" screen kills it pretty much right away, it's a never ending squint-fest. Apart from that, for some reason, I don't enjoy the plugin's UI/UX a lot. Ngl, XO has a lot of neat stuff built into it. The transient options, built-in send tracks for drum FX, simple A/B patterning, groove options (swing settings + the great "accentuator")... I really wanted to like the plugin. But in the end, I felt underwhelmed. The cloud feature for sound selection seems super helpful in a video... yet in my experience using it, I'm not blown away by it. Even now, having used XO plenty, I don't mind trying out sounds right there in my DAW's browser instead. I can sift through them super fast with my arrow keys. It doesn't like that big of a deal tbh. Plus, "the good old way" can also be just as good to discover that special unconventional sound that fits right into your project. Maybe sometimes you have to make up a problem in order to solve a problem and get paid? In terms of the generative features... I guess it depends whether or not you usually enjoy programming drums? For me, clicking through random presets to find sth cool takes some of the joy of making music and actually being creative away. I prefer to do it myself. Maybe it all comes down to personal preference? Or, maybe it's yet another example of us trying to throw money at our music in order to make it sound better? I mean, what would be a cost-free alternative to XO that could yield similar results, at least in principle? Like, idk, going through all those gigabytes of drum samples we've amassed in our rampant collector's fallacy over time? Deleting all those that are definitely crap and unlikely to ever see use? Sorting/tagging the rest in a way that's immediately helpful from our DAW's browser? Meticulously crafting a couple go-to kits for our main genres, and remembering to save some midi patterns from work we've already done? Like all of that wouldn't make us create (and sound better) faster, the only cost being some good old fashioned ppp (proper planning & preparation)?
It looks like XLN isn't putting much time into this anymore, which is a shame. I switched to Atlas 2, which is pretty similar, but is still being improved by the developer.
жаль в нем нент автоматизации эффектов нет автоматизации питча. это ограничивает. Это странно что уже все это есть и сложно в одном продукте реализовать то что уже реализованно сто лет!
Shit is corny. They turning plug ins into video games and the quality of music is suffering. It’s getting more and more generic by the day… key word GENERIC
XO is a shitty drums vst weak dynamic range the instruments are not recorded in the norms in the first place just compare it with the quality of STYLUS RMX you'll understand my point XO is a plugin to avoid if you care about your craft
That combined with Knock = drum heaven
This man always provides the sauce. My songs have been sounding so amazing because of all his advice. Absolute legend!

i was sleeping on this plugin for a long time but it's becoming one of my favorite plugins of all time ... along with adsr sample manger ...

Is the sound similarity algorithm as good as in xo ? Can t believe it is a 2 bars vst….
@@slowdivisionmusic In Atlas, this is still a very new feature. No idea if it is as good. For me, it does the job.
I have Atlas similar to XO

Claim you’re here before an hour ticket here
kinda prefer the Atlas 2 user interface. lowkey looks like they copied his plugin lol
