Excellent choice of accessories and well-presented (concise). You forgot to mention that grey cards are also meant for setting exposure. Just take a picture of the card only, and a spike should appear in the center of the histogram. If not, adjust the exposure until the spike is in the center. Then lock the exposure.
I have the ZV-E10 mark 1 with a Sony 15mm f1.4 lens…It’s a beast! I wish this video was out a year ago! I had to research all over RUclips to figure out a good lens for lowlight. Take care!
Wow, it’s been a while, Think Media! You guys have 3M subs now, plus a new presenter here :) Congrats, and thanks for the non-stop educational content!
The UV filter does affect your image, when there's a lot of UV light, i.e. high altitudes, snow, bright sky.. it prevents that light from turning the shot blue.
Please do more indepth ovverheatimng tests like this please. do other channel on youtube breaks down overheating stats with and without dummy battery, with and without fan. Thank you.
Hey! The ZVE10 has a slightly different body design so it will not work with the orginal cage. There should be cages for the mark ii on the market within a few weeks
Congrats and thanks for the video, man! It's going to help me a lot when I buy the ZV in a few days. The only issue I didn't see was transferring photos to the phone. I know that was something they complained about in the previous version and they fixed it for this one? How is it done?
I bought a lexar 1667x uhs-ii v60 128gb card for my sony zv e10m2 and it keep stop recording in just 10seconds(sometimes it goes up to 3 min.). What should I do?
@@ThinkMediaTV when recording at 1080p 8bit it went up to 10 minutes then I stopped recording manually. Then I tried 1080 10bit and it stopped recording automatically (I forgot the recording time). Then I tried 4k 8bit and 4k 10bit and it stopped automatically in both situations.
HI Guys, any recommendations for a cheaper version of Sony XLR-K3M ? I usually record podcast with my zv-10 on riverside and use a scarlet driver to connect my XLR ATR 2100 but the audio on my side is never in sync. I bought a Saramonic SmartRig + to work like the K3M but it never works great and I cant reply on it.
Do you think zv e10 mark 1 will be a good choice for my first camera? And if you think yes then can you suggest me a lens in my tight budget for versatility(daily vlogs/random)?
Great question! I'm actually working on a comparison between the Sony ZV-E10 and the Mark II right now. In short, the original ZV-E10 is an excellent choice for a first camera, especially if you're into vlogging. For a versatile, budget-friendly lens, you can look at the Sigma 10-18mm, which is a nice wide angle, but allows you to zoom in a bit. Hope this helps!
@@ThinkMediaTV Someone suggested me to buy a sigma 30 mm lens. Now I am confused about what I should do. Because for me it will be tough to invest more money into it
@@atikulislam733516mm is the sweet spot for head shot vlogging but the stock lens is fine for beginners, you can get a lot out of it with the right settings just look up youtube videos that tell you the facts, also depends what you want it for
Sony is very particular. The small rig battery will work….but not without complications. You’re better off buying Sony batteries. I used off brand batteries with my cameras before and I called Sony and told them the issues I was having and it was a result of the batteries.
Hi Joseph! You’re right, some off brand batteries will give you a warning on your Sony camera, but will work. The smallrig battery does both have this issue!
Hey there! We surely miss the old team, but also excited to see their growth with their businesses! Nate and Kraig are eager to help others improve their content!
I personally think the ZV-E10 ii is the better camera for video, it has better image quality and more video features. The A7c mark I is the better camera for photography or if you know you won’t be color grading your footage as much. Hope this helps!
Hi there! What issue are you referring to? Sounds possibly like rolling shutter? It is apparent in this camera, which is unfortunate, however it shouldn’t be a big issue for RUclips videos.
def don't recommend sigma 16mm for a newbie UNLESS you plan to use your dslr as a webcam. 16mm (24mm full frame) is a very wide look, it is hard to isolate your subject, it is totally unusable for portraits (unless your models love being inside memes). At the same time 35mm will be somewhat too tight for indoors (but doable), 50mm will be very tight (but great for outdoor portraits) I'd say get a zoom lens first to find our what types of photos you wan to to take and then add primes accordingly
Or, there's a no-cost way to find out what focal length lens you prefer for your situation. Find out the focal length of your smartphone. Set it up at the same distance your camera will be, and zoom to the most pleasing look. Then just do the math. For example, a 24mm smartphone camera at 2X zoom = 48mm, so that's your target length. The ZV-10 II has a 1.5x crop sensor, so you'd divide 48 by 1.5 and look for a lens around 32mm.

Amazing video Nate!! So helpful 🎥
Appreciate it Kraig! Thanks for bringing the heat your favorite accessories!🔥
Simple tip: Sony made their camera body caps grey for a reason :) you can use that to get white balance, no need to carry around a grey card.
Your videos are so good and helpful!

Does the fan work with the ZV E10 mark i?😊
It should! It fits via a spring against the camera body where the flip out screen is. Super neat!
Will all these be c compatible with the Sony A6700?
Yep!
There was a buz sound when you were showing the microphones. about the 20 min mark.. was that an issue with the mics, or the sound editing?

this will not work in some cases, at least I seriously doubt that. You will never have a _look_ of a 85mm FF on a smartphone wide angel camera
