The sound has some weird robotic noise with it. Other than that great video! Picking a lot of accessories from this video, my wallet can’t take it no more lol
I also picked that up - quite funny for a setup with 2 "backup" mic systems, and then they end up with weird sounding audio 🙂 (hey, what can I say ... at least they GOT audio 😉)
Sounds like we have Nate's audio bleeding into Kraigs Mic, we were a little close and I can see Kraigs mic pointing toward Nate a little - Thanks for the feedback!
If you already have it totally! But to buy the a6700, which is a great photo and video camera just for that is overkill. You can pick up an older Sony model for the purpose of a webcam much cheaper!
What softboxes do you suggest for interviews. It looks like you guys use lanterns and parabolic and not octagon soft boxes. When would you use each type?
From experience, it really depends on your room, how much space you have for the softbox, the distance between you and the softbox, between the softbox and the ceiling, and the lighting you aim for. And, if you want to have 3-point lighting, 2-point, 1-point. The lantern is very nice, but it spills all over the room, takes up a lot of space, and is heavier that a compact octagon. With the lantern, you will not get a "Rembrandt" style unless you have it pointing at you, you're sitting very close to it, and the light is set very low. I have one and use it for Zoom calls. For RUclips talking heads, I prefer the octagon. If I had the space (both vertically and horizontally), I would love to have a large lantern above me with its skirt on a sturdy c-stand, that would be a perfect setup for a group podcast with only one light. If you are doing interviews in-situ and you have the budget, the Godox led mats and their air tubes are a great option. The light is extremely soft, and they are super portable and easy to set up. If you don't have the budget, doing a book light with a cob light against muslin seems to be what most videographers do. In summary, it really depends and the best approach is to order multiple softboxes, try what works best for your space and the style you're aiming for, and return what you don't need.
I have used the "octagon soft boxes" a lot (used in this video) they help direct the light in a more specific location especially if you add the grid to the front. If you want to control light more use those. The "lanterns" are great to light the subject and also the whole room. So it comes down to lighting control and what you want the shot to look like. Either work!
Thanks for the feedback! Sounds like we have Nate's audio bleeding into Kraigs Mic in a few couple spots. Hope you were still able to find value from it!

It may not be perfect, but I am going to get you that audio @LazyManJoe!
Think media please keep doing these tupe of videos. It is so overwhelming thinking about equipment and the budgeg so this helps alot.
Glad to hear it's helpful! We will look into doing this more regularly!
Would you guys recommend the a6700 to use as a webcam in 4k for recording 4h+ without overheating? Using a dummy battery and hdmi capture card

@ThinkMediaTV Okay great, Thank you so much

Cool stuff. Thx. The sound is a bit strange sometimes with the mic bleed

Omar still working with Think?
I think he went independent and in his podcast you hear him saying "When I was at Think Media"
Beginning this year he went independent and started focusing on his Podcast! I still talk to him everyday (Kyle)
Thanks ❤
Kyle, which lenses are you using for your 3 camera setup for your studio?
I will resist the temptation lol
