A great figure and so well built.
I thought it was interesting in the fiction that neither of his Powermasters knew of each other.
Like you, this was a figure that I pieced together of the course of some time.

That’s a pretty interesting figure. I’m still surprised that him and Punch/Counterpunch were barely used in American media at the time. This figure makes me even more interested in the new version of him coming in the Earthrise line. The way that version implements the Powermaster gimmick sure is interesting.

Anyway great review on Doubledealer. Great figure, love the Powermasters as the gimmick was quite cool.

Ive got this figure 100% complete from when I was 8 years old. Back in the day when I was a kid I didn't so much play with my figures as I did display them. I got the Earthrise version about a month ago and I am waiting for a cool occasion to open it. I really want to see old and new together. I got the original from a store that no longer exists called Hill's. I begged my mom lol. It was $18.99. The new version is WAY better but seeing them both is cool.
The new one is a fantastic update to the figure. They're both great!

Bosheng Jones Every once in a while Hasbro and Takara will do re-issues of G1 figures, but this figure has not yet gotten one. This was an original I found at a show.

Actually, Doubledealer wasn't really an Autobot or a Decepticon (I can't speak for the Japanese version), he was a Mercenary who worked for which of the two sides was paying him more at the time. While the Doublespy (Punch/Counterpunch) was only decieving the Decepticons, Doubledealer was playing both sides. And he actually did appear in Marvel Comics, just only in the UK print, and thanks to it, we know he used different names depending on who he was with at the time. As an Autobot humanoid, he called himself Double, and as a Decepticon bird, he called himself Dealer. His deception was so good, not even Knok and Skar knew of it.
In the Japanese Masterforce series he was a Destron (Decepticon) deceiving the Cybertrons (Autobots) but later saw the error of his ways and switched to the Cybertrons.
Also the U.S. Toy's bio described him as a Decepticon deceiving the Autobots.
I'm reviewing the toy, not the character in the comics.

I had this figure but I don't remember the Power Masters for it and I could transform it without having to unlock anything.
Was there a non Power Master version or another reskin?
Captain Obvious No. You were probably pushing the locks with your fingers or the internal hooks were broken.

they did going to be in generations selects with Frenzy the blue tape & wingthing. orange ratbat. Know will have a new head.
