Great-looking Geep. Takes me back to my childhood outside of Cleveland. Big Blue used a lot of the first and second generation Geeps for yard switching in the Collinwood yard on Cleveland’s East side. Boy - they were crusty from all the brake and rail dust.
I used to regularly see those geeps and U-boats coming through my hometown right before crossing the Ohio River. I stayed away from modeling CR for a long time because that was all I saw then, now I have come back to my roots.
@@luvindemtrains I miss Conrail. I was five when the bailout formed Conrail, so I got to see all the PC, Reading and what not around Cleveland until they were all repainted by the early eighties.
Dear Dave, awesome Conrail Geep! Pity you had to have it repaired. Seems the reparation significantly improved the loco’s performance. The ‘Running ‘m light’ series truly is a great way to show this equipment. In all respects I humbly think this series stands out amongst so many review content. First of all because it isn’t a true review, secondly because with this kind of footage you are kind of visually ‘breaking in’ the equipment on your layout. That to me gives this series so much more purpose. Love the Conrail paint scheme and the way this Geep is looking. Very much interested in how you will weather this equipment in the future! Cheerio
Hey, Dave, that is a great looking CONRAIL geep! Sorry you had an issue, but it looks like #7163 is in great working order now! Looks great on your railroad!!! Bill B.
Thank you Bill! I'm starting to add more CR to my collection. I'm not sure why it has taken me this long to start when that was the main railroad where and when I was growing up.
