I need to thank the guy that cheated with my exwife and married her. It hurt at first but I got over it. Eighteen months later my exwife tried to sleep with me when I went to see my kid. I am sure he caught her and saw signs of cheating just like I did. Now I am married to a great women, we have a kid, and we are doing well financially.

I dont believe any study that depends on women selfreporting. Even when they participating anonymiously. They give socially acceptable answers or answer what they think other women answer.
It all comes down to discipline. If you’re attractive it’s even more difficult because you will be tempted. Having the strength to say “no” to someone who you are attracted to because you are already in a relationship will be difficult but it’s your duty to do so. It’s not just relationships, it’s everything in life. You sacrifice fun for studies and career, you sacrifice tasty food to stay fit, you sacrifice fun to raise children. It’s not super natural people you just have to be strong and learn to not cave to every damn desire that comes your way. If you cheat, you’re weak. It’s strength and discipline, very simple.
There are many people out there that are simply not attracted to others while in love with someone. I'm like that. So cheating wouldn't even be a possbility on my end. Have broke it off with girls who confessed their attractions towards other guys. If you're romantically and / or physically attracted to others while in a commited relationship then bye bye 👋🏼

He told my friends not to see me or invite me. And they didn’t. He hacked my mobile. He talks about MGTOW but he was in my way, at the expense of his own progress. He literally created a criminal record for himself.
Women often cheat out of resentment. Well, they fester resentment, let it build to anger then to entitlement and victimhood THEN they cheat and feel no need for remorse. It's a process that results in accountability only being placed on the guy they cheated on.

Hey Doc, it's called monkey branching and some meathead explained it to me 10 years ago. Monkeys never let go of one branch until they're holding onto another branch that can support them.
This is exactly why university and these professors are the greatest jokes on this earth. They spend years of their lives observing, collecting data and writing thesis’s on the machinations of this world that any normal blue collar person could summate in like 3 sentences. They are the greatest frauds ever.
I use this analogy for women as well. On the other hand men have dog bowling. A dog will turn up his nose to a healthy bowl of food (a great gal) until another dog comes in and starts eating it. Then it's the best dish on the menu and it's all they can think about.
It’s honestly the name of the game. Dating is probably the most primal thing about being a human being. I’ve had girls break up with guys to be with me, and I’ve had the same girl leave me for a new guy. They are brutal and it’s at a primal level. It’s almost like they can’t even control it. It has always caused me to remain cautious and pretty much avoid becoming too attached or emotionally invested into any woman.

When I learned about this subject matter while studying Biology in college, it permanently tainted my ability to fully embrace romance and relationships, having seen how fundamentally primal and opportunistic the game is.
Since Ancient Greece people have been trying to thwart their animal nature. There’s good reason for it, because it can yield far greater rewards than succumbing to baser instincts.
Men are primal, and women are fundamental to making a good man. The thing people dont talk about anymore is what makes a good woman. People now believe a man can be one. But it's visa versa because a good man creates a good woman, and a good woman creates a good man. Mother's and fathers creating stoic and balanced people by role.

Dr. Buss has done a lot of great research but you need to read the Rational Male book series (by Rollo Tomassi) if you want some honest analysis and applications of this research. Dr. Buss has gotten some heat from feminists and other woke mobsters so he has to try to be politically correct.
One interesting hypothesis that pops up when hearing peoples reasoning for cheating is that men seems to be able to love women unconditionally. Men cheat because of their animalistic instincts, unconditioned by how their relationship is going. It's as if men are happy as long as they can protect their mate and the offspring and are willing to sacrifice their happiness. For women it's a bit opposite, if they don't feel love they cheat.
@@sole__doubt sounds entirely true to me. Although the beginning often can come from the eyes, though it’s less long lasting than a man’s “eye decisions”
The biggest problem with humanity as a whole is it's almost impossible to quantify pettiness, spite and selfishness from person to person until its too late. The more we internalize such negative aspect's absent the ability to reflect on their inherent dangers the more toxic we become. This is legit how many documented serial killers are created both male and female.
I found out my wife was cheating on me last week, and it has devastated me. I had a home and a family, and now it's all been taken from me. How could someone I love so completely do something so horrible?
It's just lust and an inability to control yourself for both male and female. It's not strategic or thought out. You're either a decent person who can control yourself and keep your promises and commitments or you're not.
Damn. He does have a point on assymetry. The moment my face got injured it dropped off and guess she aint a patient person. He also coulda mentioned that birth control can change a womans entire spectrum of who theyre attracted to so one could go on the pill say post pregnancy and suddenly be repulsed by the husband and want the opposite attraction wise. Never met many that stop to ask why they feel something, just THAT they feel something is reason enough.
I can't say the same about my face but I started to go bald around age 27. My wife divorced me a couple years later. As depressing as it is - women don't budge on genetics, even the shit that's out of your control.
@@PlayStationElation00 yea she was like damn those are not good genes. gotta play it off by pretending u like the bald look, or just get a good girlfriend, but you gotta find her when ur bald
An evolutionary psychologist just confirmed what I already know. Sometimes you don't need statistics or studies to be done for what you can see with your own eyes.
When men cheat, women say "there is no excuse big enough to cheat on your wife!" But when women cheat, women say, "What did he do to make her cheat on him?" THE END.
No -they cheat too! I certainly don’t understand this at all! Married over 40 -never unfaithful. Life is difficult because we humans complicate everything.
A desire for sexual variety seems extremely embedded into my genetics. Comes sooo natural to me. Almost as if I am going against my very nature to just be with one woman. Yet I still choose to be with one woman and fight strongly against my impulses. I choose discipline. Too bad most other people can’t follow suit.
So long as you set the expectation from the start of the relationship that cheating for men is normal and ok and cheating for women abhorrent, disgusting, then when you do cheat it's expected and they care much less. So long as you have your shit together and are respectful about it, she ain't gonna care if you have a side piece.
Female's Cheat way more than Men do why because they can have any Man they want if they are good looking intelligent, stable funny and a woman knows that she can turn heads she uses this to her advantage they will start off faithful but soon become board with there mate sexually and will cheat on there Man and still stay with there Man for stability finances or just feel they can have the best of both worlds as long as he doesn't find out that's the truth....
I disagree with the premise that infidelity is more socially devastating for women than men. My first wife was unfaithful and after our divorce had a string of relationships including at least one more marriage which devolved. She has done very well for herself socially and financially. In fact. There are people in the community to this day who will not speak to me because they are convinced I was the villain. I find my type of story to be very common.
Correct. Buss is looking at things historically and ignoring the reality today. A cheating woman can easily end up in a better position by monkey branching or moving to skirt the shame. And usually the man is blamed for the divorce. Men pay the real price, often financially devastated.
My ex-wife cheated on me, and I discovered it like 7 months later. Initially I was the "bad guy" for neglecting and abusing her. Well in their eyes, my ex-wife was an angel and so, it couldn't have been her. Maybe I did something wrong? Rumors was going around saying maybe I beat her. Or cheated. Or neglected her. Nope. I was 100% faithful, loyal and looked after her and her family. I never shouted at her and was always open/nice. One day I just had enough and I just told her family and her friend the truth about what happened. Eg. me discovering this and that, and her talking to multiple men. Sleeping with them. Skipping work to be with them. Because I had helped them so much over the years and was always nice and honest to them, they believed me. They couldn't believe their daughter/friend had cheated. Now she is dating some rich businessman, who is also cheating on his wife with her. That was last I heard 2-3 years ago. My ex for the first year of divorce, still kept messaging me and trying to act like friends. Telling me everything. I put a stop to that and said no we can't be friends. I wanted to move on. Not be an emotional wreck every time she messaged me. I loved her and probably still do. But the woman I loved no longer exists. She has now completely changed, visually (brown to blonde hair now, lost weight, wears more revealing clothes now) and mentally different. Maybe she had always wanted to be a ho but couldn't while in a marriage. One thing though, she was a sex addict and would demand it daily. If she couldn't get it daily, she would get pissed off. Maybe this had something to do with it. Not to say that women with high sex drive can be cheaters, but I've also dated a girl in the past with also a similar sex drive. Also ended up cheating. Now I'm kind of wary of girls with high sex drives lol. The girl I'm currently with, has a regular sex drive and does not demand it daily.
@@karljonson3287 How is cheating socially devastating for the woman? Her friends don't need to know that she cheated. She already got her reasons and can just tell them anything. Same with her family. If she found a more better man (financially, social status and appearance), then she essentially upgraded without much damage being caused.
Fuck! Thank you joe for pushing back on what he is saying! This is how we got here in the first place. Genetics, biology, science doesn't excuse right out bad behavior and selfishness whether your male or female
Made myself listen to the whole podcast and was pleasantly surprised! "Accepting the data even when it goes against your narrative"- Great statement! This conversation was so refreshing.
From my limited life experience, the male vs. female reasons for infidelity that David describes here is a hundred percent right. One female that I used to know comes to mind because she never ended a relationship, instead of breaking up with a guy she just moved on to someone new, but she made sure it was obvious to old guy that there was a new sheriff in town. I watched her do this a number of times.
@@celinamilian it goes back to simple biology, maybe not in the OPs case but most women are very agreeable, breaking up with someone is ugly, painful, and the dumper has the burden of being portrayed as the bad guy. Most Women would rather cut off a finger than put themselves in that position, plus in the interim of breaking up to getting a new guy, they need a place to stay, as most women can’t or don’t support themselves- so they cheat. It’s like ripping off the band aid (and slapping the man while you do it), but many women can rationalize it enough that it feels easier than just breaking up. Same reason guys will break up over a text- easier. It’s 1000% better than cheating, but to women, there may as well be no difference at all.
The mate switching is totally true. My fiancée monkeybranched and then cheated on me. She was talking to him for months and then had the affair, about zero sympathy for me after the fact

Does it really though? A good amount of stuff can be explained sure but evolutionary explanations always feel lacking when not paired with social explanations. At different points In history atractive has meant different things. We've gone from heavier women to the coke adict models amd actresses of the 90s and 2000s, from head to toe coverings to bikinis. Human advancement in society, technology and medicine adds too much to leave explanations to just evolutions.
@@Pontif11 Well I think the two are very closely interwoven with one another. Society and sociological interaction evolved alongside our physical evolution. Society was molded BY our instincts and inherent nature that we tend to tamp down today. Our sexual dimorphism alone has had an astronomical impact on sociology and society. Ignoring the absurdity of the last decade or so, our gender roles were what allowed us to divide and conquer, and become so successful. It gave us our power. And it strengthened the selective pressure for bonding and close-knit communities, all of which directly lead to virtually all societal structures ever since
@@Pontif11 And while the general idea of beauty on a societal level has changed, I think the ideal woman has been constant for thousands of years. Child bearing hips, a healthy strong frame, a big enough chest to produce adequate milk for children, etc etc. It all leads back to that eventually. Our attraction has utility, just like all of our other emotions and feelings
@@GlorifiedGremlin its not a last few decades thing. As soon as people have enough wealth whatever is imformed by evolution loses ground. The evolutionary ideal man or woman hasn't been relevant for royals for hundreds if not thousands of years. The only novelty of the last hundred years is that the wealth that was only in the domain of royalty before has expanded down to even the poor of developed nations. Regardless, what has been atractive historically isn't really relevant to me now in modern times and every thing you described is the ideal woman is far from the rule now. Neither is the evolutionary ideal man. Joe brought up two great examples of men that are considered very atractive to women that aren't close to being the same type of guy, Jason Mamoa and Harry Styles. You can't have both of those guys being comparable with just natural explanations.
Something i dont see mentioned much is the FEAR of being cheated on. Both men and women obviously have this fear, a strategy to protect ones heart is to remain in a state of mind that keeps your defences up, that state of mind makes you less bonded to the person so it’ll hurt less if cheated on, but also makes you more likely to then cheat yourself. Ive know many people that seem to me to be using this strategy
First off, let me say I'm not denying the importance of fidelity in many key senses. However, unconsciously, people like Rogan, look at things in an overly deontological way. This is a Western Jedeo Christian malaise and is demonstrative of a lack of comprehension of the true higher God and spirit. (yet the West tends to distort things which are deontologically irrevocable, such as your biology). Of course, there is a positive side to the deontological quest, as this guest makes many rational, well researched points. It's merely that it's also necessary to have grey areas and 'the open cup ready to be filled'. Deontological thinking without explanation, nuance or unending new possibility, is also a sign of diminished IQ (think rednecks who can only repeat Bible verses with the epistemology that 'its true because it's true' rationale). In other words, the Western Judaic deontological quest (although I'd suggest the pre Christian Western ancients had a far more advanced thinking methodology) can be to generate an unending stream of rules merely as a way to prop up your sense of self. You are a hero in your own mind, and sometimes other people's minds (those with a diminished IQ) merely if you can say 'I made this rule, and it's a rule because it's cool' and boy oh boy does this allow extremists to come up with some bonkers rules. 'You can't say XYZ about XYZ group and this absolutely, deontologically true' as is one Woke idea, for example, which I would strongly suggest comes from Yahwism, the irony being that so many Yahwist cultures consider themselves to be 'free thinking'. Clue, they are often not as free thinking as they believe. At all. This is also why most of the world see the West as 'preachy' but simultaneously hypocritical. It's because anyone can make a set of rules which sets someone up (for warfare, regime change, cancelling etc) whilst you yourself nonchalantly break a whole array of other what might be arbitrary rules, which another person could easily ad hoc generate, as a form of 'superiority chess'. Now, this may seem a controversial place to say it, on a video about relationships and fidelity, an area where a certain degree of deontology is not bad, but it's nonetheless the case that Yahwism (the unconscious thinking pattern behind much Western thinking including both woke and far right philosophy) cannot handle nuance. What if a couple decides to have an open relationship, for example, and neither feels and remorse or distaste for the situation? Certainly from a Yahwist 'traditional' perspective, this can't be possible (in fact, such a thing would be punishable by stoning when Jawism was at it's barbaric apex). What about Pagan times when people followed far looser conceptions of god, with regards to relationships, which never meant that wedlock nor out of wedlock relationships were a sign of moral impropriety (the opinion most sane people hold today) People will say I am presenting a 'liberal' perspective by saying that not all people want to be in the same style of relationship, or that I am poo pooing traditionalism, but this is idiocy. Not everything is and/or, that's this hypocritical Western deontology for low IQ individuals. I'd imagine that Rogan is aware, for example, that many countries following the strong Judaic deontological quest, believe that pot smokers should be severely punished (time in prison and in certain circumstances, execution). The point is not what is correct/incorrect on this particular topic. Of course, cheating is hurtful if it is two people together who have made a strong bond of commitment. Of course traditional coupling is the very bread and butter of one generation spawning another. This is NOT my key point. My point is more general in observation of the pattern of many 'unravelling the Matrix' Western social media commentators. Rogan, like others, is part of the malaise of Yahwist thinking (unconsciously of course) which is the progenitor philosophy of both woke and extreme right ideology. In Yahwist cultures, saying 'I came up with this new rule' is the peak of showing your status (ironic when the Yahwist cultures tend to have 'belief in discussion' high on their list of ideals) Can an evolutionary biologist help people to stay together and love eachother for all eternity? It might happen, but God (the real God) is God. It is more nuanced and is seeking more understanding than you think than mere rules.

I only say that because ton of lame women out there expect the husbands to be hermits until they decide to have s3x in maybe 3-6-9 months, hon put up or shut up, if your husband wonders somewhere else you better be understanding
There’s so many possibilities as to why this happens and the majority is more than likely situation based. I’d would think for the most part is because they need something they’re not getting at home. Affection, attention, sex etc
Sometimes both are the same and they just get bored, lose respect, or become spiteful of the person most invested in them and often just dont want to put in the work of maintaining the relationship.

It's sexual attraction towards others that causes infidelity. It's not real complicated. Just animal desires and instincts, and whether we give in to them or not.
I have been really enjoying listening to joe rogans podcast lately! Its great for when your driving through work shifts or settling down with a beer or waking up and having coffee for me. its very mellow and intellectually refreshing to hear the different points brought up in conversation by both Joe and his guests. No wonder why its one of the largest podcasts in the world.
I used to speed on the way to and from work. It happens less and less when i listen to Jre. It's so much more productive too than just listening to music or silly radio
The reason infidelity runs rampant has much to do with programming. Specifically every single tv series and movie depicts affairs as exciting and thrilling for those involved and a bored man or women watching will try and act it out for themselves. I got all my cheating out of the way in highschool and learned not to do it because it's awful. Don't get me started on all the tv shows and movies that depict murder much the same.
Especially for women. They have a groupie mindset and most literally copy everything they see on TV. They believe life should be a TV show like sex and the city lol.
I agree except for the murder part. There's a HUGE difference between watching a TV show that glorifies cheating by portraying it as exciting and watching a movie where a detective solves a murder case. I watch a show called "Bones" where detectives solve murder cases. I don't feel the need to murder anyone.

Joe asks such great questions.
This angers me, being punished for being loyal.
You disagree with the premise cause of your anegdotal story

From my limited life experience, the male vs. female reasons for infidelity that David describes here is a hundred percent right.

Man I love explaining modern human behavior by looking back at evolution and our time as hunter gatherers. It makes everything make so much more sense, it fits all the puzzle pieces in place
All "psychology" is "evolutionary psychology"
Something i dont see mentioned much is the FEAR of being cheated on.
Both men and women obviously have this fear, a strategy to protect ones heart is to remain in a state of mind that keeps your defences up, that state of mind makes you less bonded to the person so it’ll hurt less if cheated on, but also makes you more likely to then cheat yourself. Ive know many people that seem to me to be using this strategy
no fear. free pass to move on.
What about Pagan times when people followed far looser conceptions of god, with regards to relationships, which never meant that wedlock nor out of wedlock relationships were a sign of moral impropriety (the opinion most sane people hold today)
People will say I am presenting a 'liberal' perspective by saying that not all people want to be in the same style of relationship, or that I am poo pooing traditionalism, but this is idiocy.
In Yahwist cultures, saying 'I came up with this new rule' is the peak of showing your status (ironic when the Yahwist cultures tend to have 'belief in discussion' high on their list of ideals)
Can an evolutionary biologist help people to stay together and love eachother for all eternity? It might happen, but God (the real God) is God. It is more nuanced and is seeking more understanding than you think than mere rules.
Seriously, my husband has been visiting massage parlors and sleeping with prostitutes for the last 15 months. I found out last month. We've been married for 6 months. We've been together for 5 years.
