If we go back before smartphones and streaming really hit ten years ago, it was extremely easy to get messages back from people online or just have someone write you about something. Now, it’s the opposite. The only people that are willing to engage are men who are thirsty for someone and scammers. Perhaps a lot of people are wary of everyone being a potential scammer these days. But it’s deeper than that. 10, 20 years ago everyone I knew was always up to do something. Nowadays, it’s the opposite again. Feels like everyone has to be pried away from streaming and phones. All we have left are stores selling physical products of the past. It used to be that you would go out and interact with someone at a video store when you rented something, then maybe you bought a cd somewhere, and ended up at a club. Now you drive out and all you see are restaurants and stores not based around entertainment. The dating apps are useless. More people abandon them every day. You can’t just go join a community and get access to everything, if there even are real communities where you live. Someone either has to create new environments that foster socialization or we should just speed up robots, AI, and everything to make viable alternatives.

It was the Supreme Court in Brooklyn, so I literally knew hundreds of people over the years and watched people go through all stages of age and life. Let me tell you... There was barely a guy I ever knew who was still happy in his marriage with his wife after a few years. Almost all woman get fat, and almost all of them stop or virtually stop having sex with their husbands. You're left with a female roommate who doesn't do much of anything, but is still capable of taking half of what you own from you.

However the plot was actually that their interplanetary and space shipping lanes society had decided it was more humane to banish criminals each to a separate deserted habitable planet, in solitary. So the main character is an angry, cantankerous criminal exiled to the planet, not just trapped there randomly. Years during his sentence they decided that solitary was too cruel so they sent a female robot to him in one of the periodic supply drop off runs to his location. After at first harshly refusing to get along with the robot, he warms to her and eventually falls for the robot. His anger and frustration melts away as he falls in love. He becomes very happy and content and grows as a person from his former angry, broken self. Later, the earth ship comes back on another supposed supply run but instead they tell him that his sentence has been commuted and they are there to take him back to earth as a free man. He gets ready to go and they tell him the horrible news - the ship has an exact weight limit and the robot wife can't come. The prisoner character has a fit and says he won't leave, etc.. The crew of the earth ship consider him delusional so they eventually smash and destroy the robot on him so that they can bring him back to earth. You were correct that he wanted to stay with the robot even after he was a free man and was able to come back to earth, but the ending was much darker. The twilight zone had so much creative writing in it's episodes that whole movies and probably even some franchises, and tv shows, have been made based on or heavily influenced by some of them.

After at first harshly refusing to get along with the robot, he warms to her and eventually falls for the robot. His anger and frustration melts away as he falls in love. He becomes very happy and content and grows as a person from his former angry, broken self. Later, the earth ship comes back on another supposed supply run but instead they tell him that his sentence has been commuted and they are there to take him back to earth as a free man. He gets ready to go and they tell him the horrible news - the ship has an exact weight limit and the robot wife can't come. The prisoner character has a fit and says he won't leave, etc.. The crew of the earth ship consider him delusional so they eventually smash and destroy the robot on him so that they can bring him back to earth.
You were correct that he wanted to stay with the robot even after he was a free man and was able to come back to earth, but the ending was much darker. The twilight zone had so much creative writing in it's episodes that whole movies and probably even some franchises, and tv shows, have been made based on or heavily influenced by some of them.

"Maybe even our physical needs"?? That is the easy part and has already been achieved. What we need now is to add the ability for these androids to walk around and take care of the household etc. That can't be far away. Imagine if we comined Ameca + Optimus Gen 2 + HarmonyX, we would almost be there already. So this is coming in a few years guys. Taking HarmonyX as an example, it only cost $12,500 or so at the moment. So practically anyone (ther average worker) can afford one.

What Joe is saying about the Internet replacing going out and finding a woman is true but I don’t think everyone realizes exactly why so many guys are choosing to not spend time going out. It’s not that they’re all scared of social interaction or unwilling to put in the effort necessary to create and maintain relationships. I genuinely believe that a major part of the issue has to do with men finding the personality and mindset of modern women generally unattractive and deciding that the benefits of a relationship not worth the risks. So many women want the men to fulfill their traditional gender roles(the man pays, opens the car door etc) but they don’t want to act like women. They expect the men to act like men but then don’t respect them as men. Theres an epidemic of disloyalty as well and there’s now a large amount of guys who’ve been hurt and don’t want their time wasted anymore as well as a bunch of guys who have heard these guys many tragic betrayal stories and don’t want to even have the chance of being hurt and having their time wasted. There’s a whole reason for the “passport bros” existing and the guys out there looking for “tradwives”. This is a direct result of men finding the way modern women approach relationships and dating unattractive.
Men have checked out and older generations, like Rogan, think women today are like they were back in his day.

Men are supposed to get married and work hard, then get served with divorce papers because they were always working, forcing their wives to have multiple affairs, then go to family court and be accused of being violent, or a molester, etc. with no way to appeal, get kicked out of house while children stay with mother and her stream of new sex friends who may take an unhealthy interest in his kids, then lose most of his wealth, work hard to pay child support/alimony, maybe risk going to jail if he can't earn enough. People are gonna be shocked at how quickly sex robots become a thing. I'd bet that by the time the first really "good" one is on the market everyone will know at least 1 person with one, and it'll overcome social resistance through sheer brute force.
Women are gonna be completely resistant and grossed out and guys will be hesitant mostly because of the bar of entry but pretty much every dude with no hope of getting any which is countless millions they'll have something to start saving for
Why would social stigma be a thing? The large majority of the people who will have a problem with this are going to be women because it upsets their status quo and a LOT of guys already own fleshlights. The first models wont be much more overly complicated then that. Its gonna be a HOT second before we have fully autonomous robots where you can download personalities into and all that
