- 2002 Mini Cooper R50 rear strut replacement procedure. My rear struts were completely gone as the car was only about an inch above my tires. When I replaced them it raised them up and soften the ride. It was like ride on coilovers the entire time I was driving the car. This was such a harsh ride. I replaced them with Meyle shocks from FCP euro.

Hello Friend
Thank you for your time and video.
The 21mm should torque to 103ft (140nm).
You are welcome and thank you for the information as well.
Thank you for sharing this video. I hope to try this on my '04 in the next couple weeks. What size allen wrench did you use here? I realize my case might be different.
If I remember correctly it was a 5 or 6 mm
Thank you. I just did it today. Had a problem with the bottom bolt and shock shaft nut and had to turn to others for their air tool/sawzall.@@operationoverhaul
@mazzapatrick those can be stubborn and hard to remove if they have been in there a while and depending on your climate, they can be rusted as well
Hi all, I notice that the triangular washer at the bottom (on the 21mm bolt) has one edge of the triangle bent inwards. What position (top, bottom etc) should this tab/bent edge be in?
Most of them that I have seen are not bent. Would you be able to send me a picture of it through email?
Aha, thanks for replying - much appreciated. After further investigation, I think the previous owner gave it an almighty whack when they hit a pothole or something (both sides had a different amount of bend!!). I flattened them out with a mallet - all good now. Thanks again for bothering to reply.@@operationoverhaul
