Combining glycolic, lactic acids with retinol are the newest thing now in skincare. Used to be taboo to combine. SkinBetter started the trend with their AlphaRet. I’ll bet these 2 products together are less then 1 SkinBetter product. And maybe these are a bit stronger. It’s an interesting idea. Might try it

@@moyamorrison2807 I haven't started using it yet. They sent it to me to test but I won't try it on my face since it can make hyperpigmentation/melasma much darker. BUT they said I could use on my neck. I just haven't had a chance and I'm honestly too lazy to stay consistent with devices. So for me, usually they are a waste of money. But that doesn't mean they don't work.

I do like their products but I don't use their retinol right now. Long story, but I bought the Truth Treatments Retinol again a few months ago.... but it didn't work. 😩May have been due to having it shipped during the heat wave but I wasn't getting any results at all with it so I stopped using it. I may reorder it again someday. But the Truth Treatments retinOL was NOT a nightly use product, this one is so this has become my nightly retinAL. And I do see better and faster results with this. So I'll probably stick with Medik8 for quite a while. 💜

@@mom4life513 No way, really....where did you buy it from? I can't imagine it went bad on the shelf since they make fresh product all the time. I was thinking it was from the 110 degree weather and the fact that it sat in the USPS truck all day which was probably even hotter than outside. By the time I got it, it was super hot. When it cooled down I started using it like normal but after a few weeks of not seeing any results, I stopped using it. Probably my fault for ordering retinOL in a heat wave. That's the problem with retinOL vs RetinAL. RetinOL is so unstable and extreme heat like that is a nightmare for retinOL. Lesson learned....an expensive one too LOL

Are you referring to the Beauty Sleep Serum? Or which Dermelect product? On days/nights I use the sleep serum I keep my routine simple...cleanse, serum, maybe a hydrator and then moisturizer and/or SPF. 💗

The last 2 weeks I have been slowly incorporating the 2 Dermelect products you recommend 2-3 x a week and the medic8 once a week. My skin still is a tiny bit angry
How long you reckon it takes to get acclimated? Thanks for all your hard work. Happy Thanksgiving and God bless.
If your skin is angry I would STOP using the actives for a while. Stop the Dermelect Sleep Serum. Stop The Medik8 Retinal. I would use a very simple routine without any acids or actives and get your skin barrier healed 1st and then slowly add just 1 back in at a time and wait till your skin is totally ok with it until you add in the other again. Your skin should not be angry when using skincare and if it starts to feel angry, that means it needs a break. But when you add them back in, I would use the Medik8 retinal more often than Sleep Serum. I would back off of Sleep Serum till your skin heals and then add the Retinal back in 1st and once your skin is ready then use Sleep Serum only once a week or even once every 2 weeks...depending on what your skin feels like. If you don't already use the Cicalfate Cream, it is an amazing product for healing the skin. Is it advisable to apply cream after applying acid? And if so, should the acid be allowed time to work or can it be applied straight away? I usually don't apply anything after the dermelect acid

LOL I've always thought the same thing but when you try new products you can just test a small area 1st to see how your skin will react. Or try doing your skincare a few hours before bed and see how your skin feels. I've been known to wash things off before bed when I didn't like something. But always go with what your skin is telling you💜

It was piping hot when I got it but it sat in the delivery truck all day (which was even hotter) . Lesson learned not to order retinol during a heat wave. I may buy it again someday but for now I'm having such great results with my nightly retinAL, so I'm not really missing the retinOL. But the Truth retinOL wasn't a nightly product. It was something to be used a couple nights a week only. My Medik8 is a nightly product and can also be used during the day since it isn't sun sensitive like how retinOL is. 💜

I prefer the Medik8. BUT the Avene one is really nice too if you are newer to using Vit A serums since the Avene isn't as high strength like ether Medik8 I use. 💜

Here is my reply to your other comment....I'm assuming you are asking me about their Vitamin A serums right? "Medik8's Crystal RetinAL is Retinaldehyde. Skinmedica only has RetinOL which works 11x slower than RetinAL. I am not a fan of most RetinOL serums after using Medik8. Just no comparison since this is super high strength but no irritation. However I do like Skinmedica TNS and their Essential Defense tinted SPF 32. 💜"

Also those are 2 completely different type serums. DRMTLGY NEEDLE-LESS is a hydrating serum & a sort of "botox on a bottle" type serum. Dermelect Beauty Sleep Serum is an exfoliating product. 2 completely different uses. 💜
Thank you! Yes, I've seen a few of your videos on Dermelect being your holy Grail and have heard from you and others really great things about the needless as well. They are very different serums BUT they are both supposed to even out your complexion, from what I've gathered, which is what I want but I'm not sure what I need to add to get there. I think I could do better.😊 I thought you might be able to help me choose because of your experience with both.
I already use retin-a .1% which I thought would have taken care of most of my concerns....It hasn't unfortunately. I use a time release aha on alternate nights recently and I see improvement. I just watched this video about layering your retinal with aha. I just don't know which direction to go. 😅
@franklydarling....7244 Are you using sunscreen daily and reapplying? That would be where I'd start. Without that, nothing will work properly. If you aren't using a Vit C serum, that has also made a big difference in my skin. But not sure if you're dealing with excess pigmentation so perhaps you need tyrosinase inhibitors to block the excess pigment from forming. I have other videos on hyperpigmentation. Hard to know but spf is my 1st thought as sometimes if we aren't applying enough and reapplying, that could be why we think we need more skincare. You might not need anything new...just up the spf game. 🤗

Hi there, they are both Retinaldehydes. But the one I use from Medik8 is double the strength of the Avene Retrinal. I do like the Avene Retrinal though but it's just not strong enough for me. That's why Medik8 stands out because it is the strongest on the market (without irritation).

@@jjmunz7718 Based on this chart I popped up in the video at 5:19 time stamp, it may help you better choose the best strength for your skin. Based on this chart, I personally started with the 6 and then worked my way up. Always best to start low and slow. 🤗

Hello! How would you compare MediK8 to SkinMedica?
Medik8's Crystal RetinAL is Retinaldehyde. Skinmedica only has RetinOL which works 11x slower than RetinAL. I am not a fan of most RetinOL serums after using Medik8. Just no comparison since this is super high strength but no irritation. However I do like Skinmedica TNS and their Essential Defense tinted SPF 32. 💜
Can I use this peel with my Retin A? I use Retin A every night. Should I skip it the night that I use the peel?

Hi. A while back you said that your favorite retinol was by truth treatments. Do you not use that anymore?
No I don't use it BUT it "was" my favorite retinOL treatment for 2x a week only face treatment. But the Truth Treatment one I used was NOT a nightly product. This is a RetinAL (not retinOL) and it is 11x faster working than retinOL. Also I forgot to mention but this retinAL can be used day or night since it isn't sun sensitive the way a retinOL is. And this one by Medik8 can be used every single night. Even though it is super potent, it doesn't cause irritation.SO I love that!! If I were to have used the Truth Treatments one nightly, my face would hate me LOL But I did re- buy the Truth Treatments one a few months ago (because I did love it) however I stopped using after a couple weeks because I didn't see any results. 😩I also bought it during a heat wave so I think it got damaged in the heat during shipping. Expensive lesson learned not to buy unstable retinOL in the summer. I'm not sure if/when I will buy it again anytime soon since my skin seems to be getting better even without it since I'm able to use this Medik8 retinAL every night.

I haven't used truth treatments in forever. I had been going through my skincare and found a little bit of my truth treatments vit c and the 5% retinol. I'm just finishing it up and never repurchasing because to be honest I don't really feel it ever really did anything. I do feel it made my skin feel nice and soft the next morning but I can get that with a good moisturizer.

Unfortunately retinalyde or any form of retinol makes my melasma darker, Perhaps I have brown olive skin! I stopped retinalyde and melasma is very very invisible now

How do I know what strength to get? I've been using 0.035% tretinoin which does nothing any more.
I would probably start with the 6. I mean, if you want to be super cautious, try the 3 but if it were me, I would use one tube of 6, then 1 tube of 10 and if I never have irritation, then bump up to 20. Some people say they have to stick with the 6 or 10 for a few tubes before they can increase in strength. And of course start slow as you would with any new product just to see how your skin tolerates it. But I've never had any irritation at all.🤗

I did for over 22 years. It is just too irritating at random times and not good if you have melasma. Caused a lot of inflammation on my skin. I never have irritation with this and it works just as good...well better because I never have irritation. 🤗

She had to work at having “beautiful skin.” She has it by taking care of her skin with various products. She has shown past videos where she struggled with breakouts and melasma. I’m 58 and my skin looks better than when I was in my 40’s because I started taking care of it more and using different skincare products. Genetics might be there naturally but without taking care of your skin daily, genetics only goes so far.
