    I am so glad you have talked about the lack of communication or honest advice from a plastic surgeon. I was so upset with my neck, I decided to interview a few plastic surgeons. They all talked about what would be involved in the surgery and the results, not a mention about trying out noninvasive options. I educated my self and now use retinal on my neck in combination with yoga and massage. I see changes overtime. I will continue using these products and plan not see to a plastic surgeon for a while.

(it's aloe vera, Tea Tree, Witchhazel, Vitamin E, and Rosemary mix) I also exfoliate regularly and have begun to do some derma plaining... this is morning and night... people guess my age mid fifties! I can hardly believe it. Keep up the good work to educate, motivate, inspire, and empower women to take care and FEED their skin.... prevent the raisin!

      there are lots of DIY recipees on RUclips. The one I make is the simplist and I got the HA powder, water soluable, from a local Soaps and More wholesale company. 1/4 cup distilled water, 1/2 tsp high molecular weight HA, 1/4 tsp glycerin(optional, but I like it... and intend to doublt it next batch!) Powder in small clean jar. Pour in the water and glycerin, and shake! It looks chunky but as the HA absorbs the water the consistency becomes more smooth. It clears up and thickens overnight... keep it in the fridge... about two weeks worth for me... 1% strength. Most effective... and apply to a damp face and use a mister after for even more lasting hydration. Sorry I can't remember the source!

    You are absolutely correct regarding proper skincare making all the difference. Being in the aesthetic field for many years, we always encourage skin health first and foremost prior to any surgical intervention. If a patient has poor skin health/quality, and they jump straight into a surgical procedure, their results are less favorable than a patient with great skincare and skin health.

    A physician I worked with a few years back had a saying, "If you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail". So if you go to a plastic 'surgeon', his/her answer will be 'surgery'. I think I'd always start with a dermatologist for a more conservative approach. If that doesn't work, then maybe I'd proceed to a plastic surgeon. Great video as usual! I sure would love to have your skin tone; that Avene SPF foundation looks wonderful but the shade range is so limited and I know the shade you have would never work for me. I love Avene products!!! I’ve tried some of the most expensive skin care from La Prairie to La Mer, but by far had the best results from Avene for a fraction of the cost. I also use the hydrating spray. And I know this part will sound extra… But I only wash and rinse my face in distilled water or in Evian water. This has made a huge difference (like massive) in my skin. When I’m traveling, of course will use the tapwater, but at home, not even the reverse osmosis water will go on my face lol. Evian, Avene water or plain distilled water from Walmart (not spring water) if I run of of the French mineral waters.

    No the plastic surgery industry won’t tell a patient that sadly, it’s about the mighty dollar. I’m 55 and haven’t done anything either and I’m not against others doing what they want to,to feel good about themselves. But I do feel our society is going overboard with it and it’s sad seeing people younger and younger getting these things done. I’d like to add that hydrating from the inside, drinking lots of water and eating well is really key and important also. Thank you for sharing!!💜

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri

      Hi Holly! Sounds like that's what many people are chiming in telling me about plastic surgeons. Kinda sad. I mean a heart Dr would tell a patient to stop smoking. Too bad a plastic surgeon won't talk about skin health. I agree with you about seeing our society going overboard and almost becoming obsessed with it. I'm all for people doing things to look prettier and feel more confident but I also see some really really young kids having work done...especially things like BBLS mainly in south FL (like really exaggerative ones that I try not to stare but it's hard not to sometimes 🫣). I'm with ya on hydrating from the inside out with nutrition. Thanks so much for your comment! I love hearing your thoughts 💜🤗

    Hi Sheri! I’m so excited to try the Avene products. Been wanting too so after seeing this I ordered each of the products you spoke of in their line! I already have Drmtlgy Needless Serum so I’m all set once I get my new Avene products. Most excited about that compact with Mineral SPF! Don’t feel like I am a raisin but at 63 I have very few wrinkles too and have never had fillers, Botox or plastic surgery. I attribute my lack of wrinkles to being pretty faithful to sunscreen since my late 20’s. It really does make all the difference. I see people 25 years younger than me here in CA and they definitely look like raisins. So sad when so much of that is preventable. What people don’t realize is that cumulative sun damage doesn’t show up until many years later. At that point the damage is done and can be very costly to undue. My Derm educated me in my 20’s about all of that when I was being treated for adult acne. I’m grateful. At 63, the only thing I’m thinking about having done is upper and lower blepharoplasty. That is such a great point about sun damage. And so true. So many people don't realize that about sun damage. As much as I despise my melasma, I honestly am thankful I got it in my late 20's, otherwise I wouldnt have had the Dermatologists educate me on melasma and the importance of sunscreen and reapplication etc etc. My obsession with sunscreen and managing my melasma over the years has really helped my overall skin health and keep alot of the wrinkles away. I'm getting those genetic fat bags under my eyes too. And some days one eyelid just hangs out a little too much on my lash line LOL. I'm not wanting any surgery yet but definitely let us know how it goes. I have even heard insurance will cover those surgeries if it interferes with vision...not sure but may be worth looking into. 💜

      Hi Carolyn, the DRMTLGY tinted SPF is amazing. It's a favorite! I actually just applied the non tinted one like 5 minutes ago. I love them both. But the Avene compact has much more coverage than the DRMTLGY tinted SPF. Often times I will apply my DRMTLGY. Then use the Avene as a foundation over top or even just as a concealer to spot conceal dark spots.... or just keep in my purse to touch up my SPF midday. I don't prefer one over the other because I am a sunscreen junkie and use multiple spf's throughout the day. I ALWAYS have my Avene compact in my purse though. 💜

    I love good skin care and all things good for skin, BUT I feel it can only take you so far. I think that by your 60's (I'm 66) most people need skin laxity addressed that OTC skin products cannot begin to address such as the dropped lower mid-face, saggy jowls and lines around necks. I believe the only fix for all that is plastic surgery. True, some really effective skin treatments can help skin laxity and quality such as IPL, CO2 laser resurfacing, BBL, etc. However, I think plastic surgeons should counsel their patients to first work on their skin quality and get it into good condition before undergoing plastic surgery. Most won't do that though because they don't want to lose a potential customer....after all, it's the way they make their living! I had a FL at 66 and wish I'd gotten my skin in better condition beforehand, BUT I can tell you it can be done afterwards as that's what I did. I get compliments on my skin now but never did prior to my FL. Yes, the FL helped, but even that can only take the skin so far. Now I use Omnilux Face and Neck/Decollette Masks several times a week and have skin cycling routines with different effective products (Tretinoin being one of them). Also, I've had face and under chin RF Microneeding twice since my FL and a couple of spa peel treatments and get spa facials about twice a year. And just recently, started getting Sculptra injections. So, it's a multi-faceted approach that results in quality skin care. No one or more products can eliminate all of your skin laxity and poor skin quality by the time you hit your 60's or 70's, but start where you can, research products and all doctors, budget accordingly, stay consistent and keep up with what's new and working. It's not simple, but also it's not impossible to change your skin quality to some degree or more....depending on how much you can afford or want to pursue the subject. I just don't want people to think it's this magic bottle or that...b/c it's not.

      More sleep 🤗 I'm not sure of any topicals that make a real difference in eye bags other than the temporary serums that wash off for that temporary tightening, few hour look of smooth tight skin. I hear of people getting that excess skin cut out by plastic surgeons... but yikes. Also maybe if it's just puffy from too much sodium, maybe some gentle facial massage or guasha could help. But no serum or cream will really help with eye bags (that I know of). 💜

      Damp skin allows skincare ingredients to absorb better than dry skin. That is also one big reason they say to apply retin a to dry skin. The mist on the Avene is so fine that it would take a lot to dilute your products. I know every am/pm after washing my face I apply my serums to damp skin and I will spray my face in between serums so it penetrates better. Sometimes I will give my face one more spray after I apply my moisturizer. In the am I will wait 5 mins after Avene water/ moisturizer and then apply sunblock.

    Doll, you don't need plastic surgery. Some of those stars looked better before. Look at poor Madonna. She has ruined her face but I think some of them have a face dismorphia, kind of like some people have body dismorphia. They don't see the same thing we do when we look at them. It's a mental problem for some people. You are beautiful and I think you have beautiful skin. You are for sure a GRAPE!! I did get that serum you recommended in the red bottle. It feels so good when you put it on. I have spring water at my house and I think I should mist my face with it more often!! It's also what I drink. I live alone so I could eat better. I need to try to do that. On a cruise ship you have all those fresh fruits and veggies ready for you to eat, I know that must make it easier. ❤ ❤ Have fun, you beautiful Grape!

      That's such a great point. I agree that some people think they need more and more surgery when they just don't. It's kind of like tanning. I remember back in the day when tanning beds were "cool" LOL I was guilty of going once in a while BUT some of my girlfriends went daily and I kept thinking, don't they see how dark and leathery their skin looks, yet I'd hear them complain about how pale they were! LOL 🤪🤣🥴 Oh if you do this routine AFTER you use the Dermelect serum in the red bottle, you will have the glowiest, plumpest skin. ***Use it right after you gently cleanse, before the mist and then hydrate, then moisturize. (Only use the Dermelect 2-3 days a week though since it's an exfoliator) but it will help the mist and moisturizer penetrate even deeper. 💜 Yes, it's hard to eat right sometimes especially when I used to live alone and it's a hassle always cooking for 1. Maybe meal prep at the beginning of the week...that makes it a bit easier. It's not as easy to eat healthy when traveling, especially since I love food and my husband loves it too so we both have gained weight.🤪 I'm getting better at not eating desserts hardly ever and trying to eat mostly plant based. Thankfully I LOVE fruits and veggies anyways. But it is nice having food already prepared and not having to cook. 🤗

    If you use Vitamin C when do you use it in this routine?

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  Год назад +1

      So if you want to add in other products, you can...just layer them usually from thinnest to thickest or whatever you want to penetrate 1st. So depending on what type of Vit C it is...if it's L Ascorbic, I usually wait a few minutes after using this cleanser and then I apply the Vit C...THEN I wait about 5 or 10 minutes to let the L Ascorbic fully absorb and not start mixing anything right over top so I don't mess with the ph. Then I would spray the mist, then add my hydrator, then moisturizer...and don't forget SPF after moisturizer if daytime. If my Vit C is say THD Ascorbate, I mix it with the spray water and layer one after another. So it really just depends on what the ingredients are. Not all "Vit C's" are the same. Hope that helps. 🤗
