I recently had the bad experience to try a light peel on my face, and made the mistake of "shaving" (roller shave) my face first. 🤦♀️ I know..! 🤷♀️Lesson learned..!😂 My face got irritated but thank God it was not that bad. What do you think of using these two products following tretinoin?
100% YES to using the new Barrier Repair Serum with Tretinoin. No to using the Beauty Sleep Serum on the same night as Tretinoin. Best to not use any exfoliating products or acids with Tretinoin. Best to keep it simple and avoid irritation. (BUT full disclaimer, have I used acids on same nights as retinal, YES....BUT only because I know my skin and it can tolerate it once in a while...but Tretinoin is way too strong and can easily cause irritation even when used as prescribed. SO just to be safe, never add an acid in that same routine to be safe). I would use the Beauty Sleep Serum on opposite nights that you don't use Tret or use during the day and never forget SPF of course.Also Beauty Sleep is an exfoliator so I wouldn't use it daily. A few times a week is good. Hope that helps.

Lady can I just tell you that you are just absolutely stunning!! Per your recommendation I got the sleep serum and adore it!! Now I will be trying this new one. Now as far as the moisturizer, I was using the Vanicream with the hyaluronic acid and peptides because you used that before. Now I will try the Cicalfate. My skin is dry so it might be better for me. Although the Vanicream works just fine on me. Thank you for this recommendation!!! You’re the best!!! Oh and your teeth are so white!!!! Any suggestions of the best products to use for that?? 😉

Fyi..for those who have super sensitive skin like me, I love Avene Hypersensitive cleansing you used. I started with the Avene hypersensitive skin routine trial kit that also comes with a travel size Avene Spring Water spray. I keep Avene spring water large can at home. You always have good recommendations. Dermalect products I’ve tried have been underwhelming! I’m hooked on the Osmosis products that seem to help my skin more! This may be good because I need more hydration👍🏽thank you🌹
Osmosis has some great products, especially Catalyst and I absolutely LOVE some of their supplements. Osmosis is super pricey but the stuff I love from them are well worth it IMO. I don't love everything I've tried from Dermelect but the few products I share are absolute faves.💜

It's so good! I think so many people love it too because it's potent enough to make a difference in the skin quickly BUT it's still gentle enough that almost everyone can easily use. And I love the price (and discount)...that definitely helps. 💜

Right, me too! I normally shy away from Glycolic because of my melasma and stick with Mandelic or Lactic BUT thankfully the Glycolic in Beauty Sleep Serum isn't a crazy high amount... but just enough to gently exfoliate and make an instant visible difference. I think it's ok washing it off after an hour. It already had its chance to soak in and do its thing. I hope you LOVE this new Barrier serum as much as I do. 💜

If it doesn’t irritate your skin when you put it on or an hour after, I think you’d be fine with it overnight. I think you’re missing some benefits of it by washing it off so soon.
@@user-hx7mi7ml8u most probably you are right.. i don’t have sensitive skin or acne prone skin.. but I get breakouts only with glycolic acid and it takes almost a year for the dark spots to fade in my skin. When I used the beauty serum for the first time, I washed it off in 5 min.. lol.. I may leave it overnight after using it for a while.. thanks

Beauty Sleep has Vit C in in but it is mainly an exfoliator. It depends which form of Vitamin C you are referring to. This has L ascorbic in it but I've never tried layering it with another C serum before (that had L Ascorbic). If I did, I would personally use Self Esteem Beauty Sleep 1st, then wait a few and then use my C serum. But honestly on the nights/days I use it, I keep the routine really simple and don't layer a lot other than what I showed in this video. If I were using, say a THD C serum, then I would just use Beauty Sleep 1st, then the THD serum but of course you want to know how your skin tolerates layering actives. SO I try to keep things really simple when using Beauty Sleep Serum. The new Barrier Serum could easily be used with any other products. I would use a C serum 1st, wait a few, then apply this serum. 💜
Hi Sheri, becuase of your love and great review of this product, last week I decided to use your code to give this serum a try, it arrived have about a week later the sleep serum did not come sealed, the box just had a white label in the middle to secure the box but the sides not. Is this normal?

You are glowing! Just beautiful! I have been using the self-esteem serum but lately it has been irritating my skin. Maybe it’s because I use Retin-A. Should I not use Retin-A and the self-esteem on the same days?
Oh no! LOL don't use an exfoliator on same nights as Retin-A. Don't feel bad, we've all don't crazy things like that. Keep your Retin-A nights VERY simple...no other actives, just gentle cleanser, retin-a, then a moisturizer. (or of course however your Dr said to use it) Self Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum is an exfoliator and should be used on days you do NOT use Vit A serums. Here's a video with more details showing exactly how to use and what NOT to do. I also did something silly when using it 🤪

I don't use Tretinoin. I use Retinals. The new Barrier Repair Serum can easily be used on nights I use Retinal. But I wouldn't use the Beauty Sleep Serum on nights using Tretinoin. Beauty Sleep Serum IS an exfoliator. I use it about 3 or 4 times a week. Hope that helps. 💜

Love your videos. Always so helpful. Do you use a normal exfoliator also? Like a BHA AHA. Also, do you use it on the same nights you would use a Retinol or Retina? Thanks so much.
The Beauty Sleep Serum is an exfoliator. If I want to use, for example, my Paula's Choice 2% BHA on my nose, I don't use in the same routine as the Beauty Sleep Serum. Or if I use an exfoliating toner, again I don't use the Beauty Sleep in that routine. I just make sure I check the ingredients of my other products and if they have acids high up in the ingredients, I won't use in the same routine. I only use one exfoliating product in a non retinol routine to be safe. We really shouldn't use and AHA/BHA on the same night as we use retinols and especially not with prescription Retin-A BUT I have before (very rarely) when I use my retinal and only when my skin barrier is feeling super duper healthy. But it's not really advised to do so since it could cause a LOT of irritation. Best to keep each routine very simple and few products is best. But this new Barrier Repair Serum can easily be used in the same routine as retinols etc. Hope that helps. 💜

About 3x a week. No I don't use the sleep serum with retinal. But yes they new hydrating barrier serum can be used with retinal. 💗

I still love Needle-Less serum but I do reach for this and my Avene Hyaluron serum a bit more often than my Needle-Less. I get more of a glow with this one from Dermelect and it's a lot less pricey too. 💜

I do. (Not the one in the red bottle with Vit A though. But yes to the one in the white bottle) (red bottle is an exfoliator so I use it on nights or days I don't use my Vit A)💜
How does this compare to the drmtlgy needle-less serum?
Needle-less serum is also a great hydrating serum. I've used it for many years. This new serum is a lot silkier and gives more of a glow, especially when I use it with my Beauty Sleep Serum. Needle-less is also quite a bit more expensive. ($25 more than this )(I have a discount code for both brands). But they are both fantastic. 💜
Where does the retinoid come in?
The Barrier Repair Serum can be used on same nights as retinoids but the Beauty Sleep Serum should be used on nights not using retinoid. I use mine during the day sometimes but it's only used a few days a week since it is an exfoliant.
What about the lip lines?
I like to use retinal 💕 Also trying not to drink from a straw can help and no smoking of course. 🤗

I bought this it has a horrible smell
If you bought it from IPSY or got it in an ALLURE Beauty Box, everyone is saying they received a strange smelly brown serum from them. I think they sent people old product or something and then I heard IPSY was selling it for super cheap on their website to get rid of old product. Not sure how true all of that is but the complaints about a funky scent and color have so far 100% of the time been from people buying elsewhere. 😩 It should be clear and no scent. I only get it directly from Dermelect and that never happens. Sorry that happened to you. 💜

Is it clear or brown? Mine is clear and has no scent...well now that I smell it again, maybe a slight medicinal type scent but nothing stinky. Just smells like the ingredients. 🩷
