Great. I prefer not to graft until the leaf on the stock is starting to show in April. It’s up to you, but I find that worls better.

10 more parcels went this morning, the rests should be posted within 2 more days. I advice so store them cool and graft in April once growth begins.

DEAR ALL, DON'T WORRY OF YOU HAVEN'T RECEIVED YOUR WOOD YET. We have been hit by extreme weather, roads blocked by snow and ice, and also I have significant other responsibilities over the coming week (a medical education course which I run). I can't take more than 20 parcels at a time to the post office as it takes ages to process and creates a queue which annoys people. I'l just off now to post another batch.
All the people who have had a positive email response from me will get their wood posted by the middle of March. For those few who tried earlier and whose emails did not get through, please try again-but no new orders can be taken.
Thanks also for the offers of scion wood, but I don't need any more. kind regards

I spent quite a bit of time sending out wood from my southern pear varieties and from my Chickasaw X Asian plum hybrids. So I know how big of job it is, even though I don't send out nearly as much as you do. I've been at this, for about 7 years here in SE Georgia, USA and now have a fair amount of really good fruit that will work here.
I'm actually kind of excited, because I think I've broken the code on how to get the hybrid plums pollinated. It's seems that despite the protests from the breeders and nurseries to the contrary, that it really works best if you have flowers from wild Chickasaw plums in the area to pollinize the hybrids bead for heat and humidity. I know that's true with hybrids between Asian X Canadian and Asian X American plums bread for North America cold climates. I now have a good crop this year, so here's having my fingers crossed that I don't get a late freeze. Spring is insanely early this year. God bless.
