Miss your videos, Mr. and Mrs Hayes.
Hope you are well and enjoying your beautiful orchard. Some of the grafting I've learned from you has been applied and done well over the past few years. I retire in 3 years and intend to a lot more. Will probably go back and watch all your videos again. I appreciate all that you did for us.

I also was inspired by these videos. I have an heirloom apple orchard and am also thinking how I can retire and spend all my time in the orchard

Merry Christmas! You're orchard has been such an inspiration. I ordered 7 apple trees for spring, most from your best apple list. Being in Colorado, who knows how they'll do, but most except for the Kidds Orange Red seem to have good cold resistance so time will see. Best wishes from cold and windy Colorado.

Thanks for your kind words my friend. It means more than I can say that our humble efforts have encouraged others to plant orchards. Very precious. We can’t always find time to respond, but we are deeply moved.

Hi Stephen. Dan here, you sent me some scions a few years ago, they are doing well. I have one I think is Court Pendu plat but I lost the tag. Do you have an email I could send some picture to you please? Dan.

I wonder if you would consider doing some more video on hedge management? It's been a long time since you talked about hedges. I came across your hedge videos and found them useful. The videos I find on hedging are either English hedge laying competition or mono-species hedge shaping. Yours are the only ones I've found that are about actual working hedges. I'm in Florida, building a hedge around my place starting with bluejack and laurel oak, Carolina cherry laurel and camphor of varying ages and sizes. I've got gaps I'm planting up with Chickasaw plum, mulberry, guava and citrus. Seeing what you did nine years ago has been very helpful. I'd like to see how it's gotten on.

Personally, I think the Noble Fir (Abies procera) makes the most beautiful Christmas tree.

Thanks we’re OK but life is complicated and the orchard is now a ‘mature project’ and Julia and I are both concentrating our time and energy on other things. We have nothing new to say about heritage apples that we have not already said. Will post some videos from the orchard when we can find the time.

Hello, yes very much so. Life moves on and although we still own the orchard it is in a time of gentle decline as we are older and are engaged with other things.
I seldom post videos now as I have said everything I want to say about apples and orchards.
The most beautiful thing is that we seem to have inspired some others to grow fruit trees and even plant new orchards. That’s amazing.
