This a true wash-n-go IMO. Everything is pretty much done in the shower (you prob didn't even need to diffuse cuz your hair looked awesome already) and then you go on with your day! Bravo!
As soon as I saw the Kinky Curly Custard I said BOOM that's the key. I have 4c hair too but mine hair is so different from yours. It is very fine and soft but with the same curl pattern when wet. When I put the kinky curly custard in and set it with the gel it does the same thing. It defines curls! I have tried so many other products trying to find the same results from something less expensive but nothing defines like it. Great for wash and go... thanks
Just tried this method on my 4c hair but with Carol’s daughter and Xtreme gel and WOW!!! I stopped attempting to do wash and goes because it would just look like a fro instead of definition. However I must say the key is most definitely having the hair WETTT. I have high porosity hair so I believe having my hair dripping wet allowed the products do their clumping magic! You should try Camille rose almond jai twisting butter! You can use it as a leave in and it leaves your hair soft & moisturized for days! Defined as well
Soooooo I tried this method. IT TURNED OUT GREATTTTT but because we are quarantined I could not get my hands on these products. I used mielle pomegranate and honey as me leave in, gorilla snot gel (sport)mixed with water as my like “curling custard”, and olive oil eco styler gel. It worked 😃😃😃

I have dense, low porosity 4c hair and water does not touch my hair unless it's wash day and I have to wait for my hair to dry before mosturizing it. My hair and water do not get along, I'll only put water on it if I'm laying it down with gel or edge control.
I wish I could actually do a wash and go. My hair is the same length as your after wetting it and as soon as it touches anything liquid let alone water it shrinks all the way to my head meaning 1inch. Lol so after washing it I immediately braid it with thread in order to stream hit for the next day depending on the style that I’ll go for.
