  • We live in an incredibly busy world. In our fast-paced lives, our minds are constantly occupied, and we're always on the go. As we do our chores, we keep one eye on the children and another on the television. We plan our day while driving to work and listening to the radio. In rushing to complete necessary tasks, we may lose sight of the present moment. We either focus on the past or the future, and miss out on what we are doing and how we are feeling at present. Mindfulness involves living in the present rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future. Our capacity for mindfulness helps to develop positive attitudes that contribute to a happy and satisfied life. Thus, mindfulness improves our overall well-being. In this self help malayalam video, Dr Mary Matilda highlights the importance of mindfulness and the practical techniques to acquire this state of mind.     Dr. Mary Matilda is the former Principal of Maharajas College Ernakulam. She is a well known motivational speaker, corporate trainer & life skills/soft skills coach. She has Master’s degrees in Mathematics (M.Sc & M.Phil), Education (M.Ed), Business Administration and Management (MBA), Women Studies (MWS), Applied Psychology (M.Sc), and Ph.D. in women’s studies.
