When designing a character the concept artist usually goes through multiple iterations of what the character is supposed to look like. it's amazing that all of the art directors made the same conclusion of choosing the killmonger hairstyle for the black character in their games.
Tbh we have had black characters with other styles. Baptiste from Overwatch, they gave longer dreads to Mordo in Doc Strange 2, and Miles Morales in Across has more of an Afro than in the game.

Ekko from league of legends used to rock a mohawk for years On the new animated series Arcane they change his hair into killmonger's hair And they're trying to replace ekko's mohawk in the game into killmonger's hair like the mohawk never happened
Eddy had dreads in every other Tekken game since 3 so why would they switch to the killmonger cut for him in 8? I guess the only reason would be Bandai Namco didn't want to make another character with dreads to clash with Leroy
