I started this game (got if for free) and not even 5 minutes in, Harley had already used the words "capitalism", "gentrification" and "toxic environment".

Batman beyond was being planned by rocksteady, supposed to set Damian as future bats. That got canned in favor of Gotham knights. Then the superman game got canned in favor of junksquad: kill wb game division.
There were also talks about using Shadow of War Nemesis system in the game.
But ofc these incompetent clowns would never deliver the goods.
Just noticed this: Harley kills Batman with a Revolver and they played a sound like a casing was ejected. In case you don’t know, Revolvers keep the empty casing in the cylinder until they are pushed out by the ejector during a reload. They played a sound like it automatically ejected the casing, on a weapon that doesn’t do that. It’s not that big of a deal, it’s not like it’s the mistake of the year but it feels funny when I think about it.
Also batmans suit is supposed to be kevlar or bulletproof right?

What's the trend nowadays with "writers" making fun of everything that came before (and was better)? It seems like some kind of resentment. They should be thankful to work in an amazing franchise like the Arkham series and respect its legacy.

These new writers, who have absolutely no skill and have only gotten the job because they're some sort of minority or LGBT person, think that they are better than the old writers who cared about actually telling a story. These new writers just want to push their agenda and undermine the older ones by calling them bigots and what not.

Because a lot of literature critics nowadays are how bad the old things arm, especially among critical theories. The results being a bunch of college graduates with no idea about expressing an idea subtly, only how to lay them out like textbooks.
It's called "irreverent". It's a casual, mocking tone meant to appeal to a teenage generation when most of us are at our most callous. Some like it, some don't. Most people enjoy it but get really sick of it after they see it enough, and it's done very much on-the-nose these days.

@@P-P-Panda in a pistol like a Glock or a Beretta when you fire a round the spent casing is ejected as a new round is loaded into the chamber so after firing a shot you expect to hear the casing hit the floor or a wall or something. In revolvers the spent casings do not eject- they stay in the gun until you remove them manually
@@ExplosiveBurkaI would add to anyone who doesn't know about guns, that Beretta and Glock aren't weapons but manufacturers, "a Beretta", is relatevely meaningless, but usually used for pistols, like Glock too, even tho there are different types of weapons they produce.

Joker’s not supposed to be “likable”, my only issue with Hamill’s joker is his lines always crack me up and are comedy gold. Batman always tells Joker his jokes are never funny, but Hamill’s jokes are almost always funny. A joker who’s jokes are more creepy than funny would be John DiMaggio’s joker from Under the Red Hood

Fun fact: Arkham Knight was developed using the Unreal Engine 3, by then Unreal Engine 4 was the AAA industry standard and not only that game matches and surpasses it's contemporaries visually but even to this day it gives Unreal Engine 5 games the run for their money. That last one also happens to be the engine Kill the Justice League runs and despite being on (at this time) the most cutting edge iteration of Epic Game's software it somehow looks not only worse that Knight but also Arkham City and I'll even argue Asylum.
Point is that is not only the writers but also the devs that made Rocksteady the beast that it once was are long gone.

I finally figured it out. There are two possibilities of how things turned out like SSKTJL:
- Arkham City had that bad alternate ending where Catwoman left instead of saving Batman. We all played Arkham Knight wrong with the new game being an elaborate bad ending.
- Other theory is that we've all been dosed by fear toxin. It's the only logical way to explain how KTJL turned out worse than we feared.
Didn't batman die when Catwoman left?
All of this is a product of a hallucination via the fear serum that Batman was injected with by Scarecrow. Except it didn't make him afraid, it just pissed him off a bit. Hence why it appeared to not have much effect.
Then there's the actual real answer: None of this shit is canon. It never happened in the Arkhamverse.
@@strongerthanever2039 Yes. He remained pinned under the rubble, so was killed by the bombardment during Protocol 10. And the Joker also escaped, leading a massive riot into Gotham, since most of the inmates got out before being killed by the helicopters and missiles from the tower.
@@MarvinPowell1 I fear that's wishful thinking considering all of the direct references to the previous games. I guess there is the argument that it was just some different universe that happened to have the same history as the Arkhamverse until the Brainiac invasion.

EDIT Holy fuck the latter half of this vid is CRAZY. Seeing what SS:KTJL cutscenes actually look like first-hand is almost surreal. It's what you'd expect from people who have never written or directed anything before in their entire life, except these are like huge multi-million dollar game productions. The writer for the Arkham games was Paul Dini, a professional who co-created Batman TAS and was the main writer for Detective Comics in the mid to late 2000's. Of course some woke undergrad with 0 writing skills using chat GPT can't hold a candle to him.
In Arkham Knight they didn't have Paul Dini to write the story, but it still end up good. Not as great as 2 previous games but still good.

The original Arkham trilogy is a masterpiece in not only gaming but story telling. I have 100% all 4 (including origins) and loved each one!
The quality of its writing can be debatable, but yeah. It was way better than whatever the f*ck this is.
Arkham Asylum was the one I played, and I really enjoyed it.

It was Rocksteady's own idea to do this. The live service, the story, it was all Rocksteady's own idea, more specifically, it was Sefton Hill's plan, as revealed by an article on Bloomerang by Jason Schreier. My man Sefton Hill really went downhill with this one (pun intended)

the thing that made the previous batman games better is that when it came to dialogues and cutscenes they focus on 2 or at most 3 characters at a time even when there were dozens of other characters present, no one interrupted and everyone was heard, in the recent games however no one gets a dialogue that's longer than 2 lines which directly affected the story
