You gotta move bald up to at least B, especially if its a balding man and not just somebody who want a bald head. If i miss more than 2 days without a shave I look like George Jefferson.
Put your hair up if it’s long enough it instantly takes the homeless look away I promise I’ve been offered food plenty of times while I walked to work😂
If you know how to do finger coils, they can take about maybe 45 minutes, and they can really last you for about two weeks if you do them correctly. There’s a learning curve with finger coils. Finger coils are my go-to style whenever I want my hair to have more shrinkage and look a bit more controlled.
What length are we talking here? I've seen someone prpfessionally get finger coils done on maybe 5 inch long hair and it took like 2 hours. Also it looks ass so there's no point in getting em
@@BroMaxxing I’m not sure about the length but I think my hair is about 4 inches the first time I tried them (it took forever to do). I didn’t start doing them on a regular basis until my hair got past my ears because I don’t like the feeling of hair touching my ears. I found that if the finger coils are smaller and aren’t as tight, they come out looking like really well defined curls. I’ve seen a lot of Brazilian guys style their hair that way.
@@BroMaxxingmy hair is almost shoulder length and it takes me about 45 minutes to a hour to do them and they last 2 weeks or sometimes they’ll still look fresh for the entire month
@@BroMaxxingmy hair like Bruno mars, down to my chin. It takes max an hour, but for people with type 4 hair I assume it takes much longer cause it’s thicker and more tangled.
Hey man i just wanted to say i really appreciate the wide variety of hairstyles you mentioned in the video, theres not a whole lot of self care videos for black men, and a lot of the ones that DO exist are really surface level, i've NEVER seen this type of video mention freeform locs before,(i've been letting my hair lock up for about 6 months now!!), and the clips you showed of people with freeform locs were of people who are important in the loc community (zayloc23, DOMI boy, even Bamskelly in the thumbnail), i know it's a pretty small thing but most "looksmaxxing" content looks, feels, and sounds the same. So to me that just shows a greater attention to detail than basically any other looksmaxxing video ive ever seen, it also shows that youre ACTUALLY of our culture and black cause most "looksmaxxing videos for black men" aren't BY black men, and that doesnt make a whole lot of sense. So again, i just wanted to say i appreciate you and keep up the good work!! Youre making great stuff!!

I think this changes a lot based on your hair type. For me with 4c, twists and box braids last a long time, they’re not really high maintenance. For me to rock a fro, I would be having to stretch out my hair every couple days which would be a lot of work. Other people with a looser hair texture could keep the volume on their fro with less work.
@@Epic_monculusany hairstyle that takes an hour of maintenance a day is high maintenance. 1 hour minimum to maintain your hairstyle is a lot, and I'm not even factoring in hair cuts.
this is a great list, ngl people think low maintenance is SUPER easy but it just means that it is EASY COMPARED to the OTHER hairstyles (for example being bald ain't easy as you have to shave often but it is 100x easier than something like finger coils or waves)
I had dreads throughout my entire 20's the front came down to my waist and the back to my butt, when I turn 30 I cut them, not necessarily because I was tired of them but because it seem like they just started to disappear in the front and back! It's weird because my hair wasn't falling out (no receding hairline) 🤔 in fact when I cut them I literally had a mini bush! Which was by far the *HARDEST* style to maintain and grow 😩 every morning it took almost a hr to get right and then you had to be careful constantly checking on it throughout the day!
I’m happy I came across this vid not because im a black dude with any of these hair styles (im white with straight hair past my shoulders lol) but because im practicing drawing black hair and this gave me so much inspo, and also info! Easily digestible video :)
Long curls are so hard, man. I currently have 10-12 in hair, and i have a cut scheduled next week. Nah I had waves with 4c. It’s not really hard to brush and pomade everyday. Once they come in, all you have to do is wear a doo rag, not wearing one is the only way they’ll mess up
You don’t always have a clean cut with waves but you always gotta make sure they are laid. Most people don’t understand that waves are only laid down curls. Other than that maintenance is easy I would put that like B tier at most
I find having long curly hair easy to maintain, but not everyone has easy going schedules. I'd say it takes me about 10 minutes to pick and comb it out in the shower and then shake my hair to define my curls. After all that i let it air dry and go about my day
@nicolas-t3h what hair type do you have? Whenever I've washed them they literally disappeared. I think they only last for tighter hair textures but even then they still take way too long to get done
I have a nice big afro. And i love it but there are definitely days when im like "fuck it would be so simpler if i had a shorter hair style" but then I remember all the compliments I've gotten from my afro and just stick with it
Accurate on most of these, as a person who tried a lot these styles smh once once its long enough unless you really are good at doing your own hair or have a dedicated stylist that knows what do with your hair (preferably a family member or friend) it is so tedious to do anything but get it braided consistently and most likely its not worth doing anything but put it in cornrows bc taking down anything else is tedious and annoying.
