Happy to see someone else like that. Everyone likes to mostly take Killmonger’s side. T’Challa has a good point, too. Vibranium in the wrongs is hella dangerous and he honestly doesn’t HAVE to share his tech with outsiders. I’d probably be stingy, too 🤣🤣
@@JERR_. honestly I found kilomongers side a bit more towards racial causes since he brought up how there are 2 billion people that look like them who live a bad life. Which kinda felt racially motivated considering there are not just blacks on earth lol. Which is why I sided with Tchalla since he is a king with good morals.
@@123456789103303 It's also important to note when they say "He's not one of us." Even though he's Wakandan, he was raised and grew up in America, therefore he shares American ideals. That's what they mean when they say "He's not one of us." He doesn't share their values and he was not raised there. Therefore he's more or less abusing his heritage to inject foreign ideals into a culture he doesn't really belong to.
yeah, they both have good points Killmonger is well within his right to call out Wakandans for hoarding such amazing technology and information to themselves, refusing to help or acknowledge the problems of the outside world unless it threatens them directly. He also remains bitter for T'Chaka's poor handling of N'Jobu's betrayal(done with the same motive) and his killing. In his eyes, Wakanda advanced because of its absolute power it wielded and that same power could be used to advance the rest of the world. However T'Challa notices and points out that in his rage and violent tendencies, Killmonger has become of a hypocrite of his own ideals and planned future. T'Challa is also very much in the right for refusing to reveal Wakanda's secrets simply on the basis of race. They haven't been exposed to racism and thus don't feel unity by race or history. The problems of the world are their own that they must solve on their own, and Wakanda is still a small country that has prospered where other countries struggled mainly because an exceptional warrior united most of the warring tribes early on(even then 1 of the five tribes still is in a mildly tense cease-fire with them), with the peace and single-mindedness allowing for them to advance. They are hardly in any sort of a position to play God and meddle in the affairs of others expecting anything good to come of it, especially with such force. As for Vibranium itself, well, Klaue and Ultron are very stark, fresh, and harsh reminders of what can happen when Vibranium leaves the close regulation of Wakanda. In the end though, T'Challa does take some of what Killmonger said to heart and compromises. He does not directly intervene, but instead opens the knowledge, guidance and technology of wakanda up to the world, peacefully, to those who ask for it, hoping that this approach is the best that can be taken to promote lasting change and improvement.
One reason I really like Killmonger and Michael B Jordan's acting in this movie is that even without the exposition you can see who Erik Killmonger is. He acts like a kid from Oakland, he speaks like an educated man (PhD in Engineering and MBA from MIT in the comics which was confirmed in What If?), and he carries himself like a soldier. Really great acting to portray all of that.
I mean if Kilmomger reveals who he is and Tchalla refuses his request and just kills him, its going to cause some serious issues with all the other royal families.
@@DillsyYourDaddy67 errr... Wakanda allowed millions of people to be killed as they couldn't be bothered to help them. ... I get your point. But kings are allowed to rule how they want. Just as Killmonger wanted to conquer the world, T'Challa was within his rights to maintain Wakanda's isolationism. But saying they are within their rights isn't saying _their choices were right._
Something that isn’t talked about enough is the fact that Ramonda is just as shocked as everyone else to the point where she insists Killmonger is lying. That means T’Chaka didn’t even tell his own wife the truth. Imagine finding out your husband kept such a secret from you for decades.
He had to kill his own brother with his own hands. That will seriously mess you up. He went there to bring his brother back for trial, not to kill him. I'd bet he had a lot of unresolved guilt that he couldn't acknowledge.
@@Elthenar That sounds right to me. Bringing his son would have opened that can of worms and if he forced himself to do it, he may have grown to resent and hate the boy. It doesn't make it right though. I forgot to say that killing was a reflex not a choice.
I love killmonger “I don’t need weeks, all I need is him and someone to unlock these chains” like a mad man driven by the pursuit of revenge and to know his grasp is right within him and nothing and can stop him I really admire him. In my eyes he was the hero we needed but didn’t deserve
He literally was a black supremacist he didn't want to share the world equally he wanted everyone white, yellow, brown, red and more to be under him and his race or be destroyed he was no hero he was the very thing he hated
This scene had some "Rocky 3" vibes. All T'Challa needed was Forrest Whitaker saying "don't do it T'challa, the man is hungry! For Bast's sake, you have not been hungry since you took the throne!".
Notice how all the Dora Milaje in the room instinctively got ready to engage the moment T'Challa stood up. Really shows how they are in total synchro with their King. They are supposed to be like an extension of the Black Panther.
Right.... And when Killmonger beat T'Challa....Okoye and the rest of the Dora Milaje instantly standing in allegiance with him... even though they didn't want to was a nice touch symbolizing their allegiance was to the throne... not T'Challa

I like how the royal family seem pretentious. while killmonger presented good arguments, they treated him like a charlatan for no good reason. Makes it easier to relate to killmonger
He really didnt, his best argument was that other black people happened to have the same skin color as wakandans but wakanda wasn’t a costal country that would have been involved in the slave trade and was notably isolationist and was inwardly focused, the problems of other people who happened to be from the same continent who had nothing in common with them except skin color, are not something the wakandans should go around fighting over
The best part was when one of the elders asked Killmonger who he was in Xhosa and Killmonger promptly replied in the same dialect. Everyone in the room was shook.

I like Killmonger's progression (or regression). First, he talks of liberation for black people. Then, once he had the throne, the power corrupts him, and now he wants to oppress all those who aren't his people, even saying that the sun will never set on the Wakandan Empire.
@@ameybirulkar7503 But that's the idea. The power that comes with ruling over the most advanced nation on the planet corrupted him. He genuinely thought he could've taken over the world. If T'Challa didn't stop him, the Avengers definitely would. And then, Wakanda would have touted itself as not only a very advanced and powerful nation, but a hostile one. The end result wouldn't have looked so good for Wakanda.
Unless you're insinuating that the avengers would automatically uphold white supremacy, I don't think they automatically have a problem with Killmonger's plan to liberate black people globally Look how many wars characters in the MCU have stayed neutral in or fought fit justice.
@@deepee4323 The Avengers would absolutely take issue when Kilmonger basically declares war. He talks of "striking" at New York and Hong Kong. That does not sound peaceful in the slightest. Like in captain America civil war, I believe the team would be split on whether to help killmonger or stop killmonger or stay neutral. We'll never truly know for sure
Probably only for one or two years more. With Chadwick passing and the mantle of Black Panther being passed on to others, this movie will quickly be forgotten. Maybe someone who digs MCU movies will talk about it every now and then, but not as much as you imagined it to be

Michael B. was the perfect choice to play opposite Chadwick Boseman. Both men gave this scene so much emotion and the two of them made it easy for everyone else to follow
He's (Michael P. Jordan) has always been a great actor. Most guys w/in this chat relate to him because he added a little STREET, AKA THUGGISH characteristics to his character when confronted the TRUE King of Wakanda who had MERCY on him. Being said, The Royal facts are as follows; Killmonger was NOT a Prince to the Throne, nor did he or his father have RIGHTS to the Throne. 👑King T'Chaka has a Son by the name of Prince 👑T'Challa who IS next in line to be King by his BIRTH RIGHT when his father dies. Even 👑Princess Zuri has Rights to the Throne in her father death IF her brother, the Real Prince dies, because she can Marry, and that's IF her mother doesn't REMARRY as 👑Queen of Wakanda. He can however, challenge to be The Black Panther, He'll, any tribe of Wakanda could 😂. Killmonger's father was a DUKE or yes, a Prince, but his BROTHER is King and his brother has a SON... SO, he has NO RIGHTS to the Throne Yibambe ⚔️. This is why many DUKES killed their brothers and their children then marry their brothers wife or kill her too so THEY CAN be KING. #RoyalFacts 💯

T'Chala in the first half was low-key cold as hell. He's standing here, looking into the eyes of his cousin, his own flesh and blood, and he knows that. He knows his father killed his uncle and left his cousin to fend for himself, sure it was in self defense, but still. Wish the movie had T'Chala be as empathetic as he was towards Killmonger in the beginning like he was in the second half.
Blood or not he has become a cold blooded murderer and he might think it is too late for empathy. Think of it this way: a murderer in jail claims to be your half brother, he has the DNA test and photographs to prove it. Would you jump to hug him or would you keep your distance to keep yourself and your family safe?
Yet at the end of the movie, after T'Challa defeats Killmonger and fatally stabs him in the chest, he offered Killmonger to save him, with their wakandan/vibranium technology, he very well can. He even brought Killmonger to see the sun rise on a wakandan hilltop, an area N'Jobu told his son that one could see the most beautiful sunrise in the world. And he's been dying(no pun intended) to show his son that. But never got the chance to. And T'Challa fulfilled that for him. And as I mentioned he wanted to save him and offered Killmonger that. But he also know Killmonger's heart is cold because of what he lost and only if he wants to, can he be saved. Hence T'Challa asked, and out of respect too for his cousin despite the fact he tried to kill him earlier in the film and almost did. Or he did, but M'Baku saved T'Challa. And Killmonger himself turned down the offer and pull the dagger out to end his dying breathe. T'Challa still has empathy for his cousin. And he understands perfectly the rage and resentment and even pain his cousin felt. Losing so much at a young age and left to fend on his own while he sits in his ivory, or vibranium tower/palace, living the best and most privileged life as a prince. He definitely still has empathy for him. But Killmonger had became cold blooded and filled with hatred and T'Challa has to stop him before he brings the world down to a genocide and ending it with black supremacy. But he still spared Killmonger. So yeah. To reaffirm your point.
Probably one of Michael B. Jordan’s best performances to date! He killed it as a villain and made Killmonger one of the best movie (not just MCU) villains out there!
@f wam People like to make these kinds of jokes about a white actor playing Black Panther. And of course, that would never happen and it SHOULD never happen BUT I do like to say in response to those kinds of jokes that technically a white actor could play an African Super Hero,it's not like there aren't any white people in Africa. South Africa has a large white population(and there are other races in African countries, too). Unless you already knew it or she told it to you,you probably wouldn't ever think that Charlize Theron is from Africa. So sure,Brad Pitt could play a WHITE African Super Hero but just not a black one.
3:04 that would have been a good time for T'Challa to bring up that N'Jakka's father was a traitor that sold the vibranium that led to the explosion years earlier. Could've quashed Killmonger's challenge and "right" to the throne then and there. "You're the son of a traitor. My own uncle killed our people, cousin."
Still doesn’t justify T’Challa’s father murdering him and leaving N’Jakka behind like that to grow up without not only a father but no other family. N’Jakka still had a right to live in Wakanda as a prince. T’Challa’s father also had an obligation to at least look N’Jakka in the eye and explain why he killed his father.
I keep watching this clip over and over again from time to time, and each time I notice another tiny little thing in Jordan's acting that just elevates the scene.
I would like to say that this scene along with the beatdown T'Challa receives by his cousin Killmonger as well as the seemingly 'death' of T'Challa are very powerful moments from this destined-to-be classic film.

One thing that’s so amazing about this movie is that I can completely understand each side of tchalla and killmongers sides
Therefore he's more or less abusing his heritage to inject foreign ideals into a culture he doesn't really belong to.
yeah, they both have good points
Killmonger is well within his right to call out Wakandans for hoarding such amazing technology and information to themselves, refusing to help or acknowledge the problems of the outside world unless it threatens them directly.
I can't fully understand a guy that's willing to kill women and kids.
One reason I really like Killmonger and Michael B Jordan's acting in this movie is that even without the exposition you can see who Erik Killmonger is. Really great acting to portray all of that.

Yep.
He was a king that made decisions that benefited him and his family sure it was cold but also necessary.
He had to kill his own brother with his own hands. That will seriously mess you up. He went there to bring his brother back for trial, not to kill him. I'd bet he had a lot of unresolved guilt that he couldn't acknowledge.

South Africa has a large white population(and there are other races in African countries, too). Unless you already knew it or she told it to you,you probably wouldn't ever think that Charlize Theron is from Africa.
So sure,Brad Pitt could play a WHITE African Super Hero but just not a black one.
The anger, pain & rage were shown perfectly by Jordan 🙌🏽
2:10 the way he says no shows that he perfectly knows that killmonger is about to end his whole career 😃
t’challa beats him up anyways
@@xenisty4829 after getting his a"ss handed to him twice? Sure.
One of the best scenes in MCU so far. Black Panther 1 will always be top 10. Still hits years later.
there’s absolutely no one who could’ve brought Killmonger to life better than MBJ. impeccable at his craft.
I'll say this about Killmonger if I could see him fight another MCU villain I want to see him fight The Red Skull.
I love how killmonger followed the customs and waited to be asked by an elder to expose who he is! That made this scene so much more powerful❤️
I keep watching this clip over and over again from time to time, and each time I notice another tiny little thing in Jordan's acting that just elevates the scene.
I wish he was in the final battle in endgame
I love the way he says “your weapons”
"Our weapons will not be use to wage war on the world. It is not our way to be judge, jury and executioner for people who aren't our own."
@@boy2savege17 "Not your own, but didn't life start right here in this continent? So ain't all people your own?"
@@ttxlovely8629”I am not king of all people. I am king of wakanda.”
I would like to say that this scene along with the beatdown T'Challa receives by his cousin Killmonger as well as the seemingly 'death' of T'Challa are very powerful moments from this destined-to-be classic film.
I'll say this about Killmonger if I could see him fight another MCU villain I want to see him fight The Red Skull it would be a brutal fight.
I feel like killmonger every time I go around my dads side of the family 🤣
That's hilarious!!;)
I wonder how T'Challa's mother reacted upon finding out the story of her husband killing his own brother and how he left Erik behind.
