  • This is a great example of an EAT one - KEEP one dish.
I get asked all the time, about what you can take for a healthy packed lunch and this ticks all the boxes. It contains proteins, healthy fats and fibre as well as hormone friendly phytonutrients. Trout is a great source of the active omega 3 oils EPA and DHA.
This time I cooked some trout, but it could’ve been chicken, tofu or whatever I had eaten the day before.
It doesn’t matter what the recipe you use is, it’s just that you cook a little bit more so that you have extra.
While you’re going to the trouble of cooking anyway, you may as well cook just a little bit more and know that your next meal is covered. It makes life stress-free.
Prepping ahead saves a lot of time and money. When we eat a balanced lunch, we are less likely to have the munchies mid afternoon. Eating sweets or chocolate, crisps, muffins or lattes and other treats during the afternoon not only adds up financially, but can also add up on our waistline and have an impact on our health.
When we eat efficient food at meals in the right proportions of fats, proteins, fibre and carbohydrates we find ourselves feeling full up, balanced and focused all afternoon. This is the PFF principal.
So when you’re cooking, just cook a little bit more and make sure that your next meal is a breeze.
if there is one thing I have learnt it is to eat more at your meals, as this has more health benefits throughout the day. When we eat calorie counted meals less than 400 cal we are much more likely to snack in between. This meal came in at 580 cal and for me is a much more efficient way of maintaining weight and health simultaneously. Sometimes there are no shortcuts!
This recipe is one of my favourite salmon or trout recipes and is part of my Triple 30 Plan. Head to my website to find out more.
