    Sorry to say - we have to end our midday meals with curd or chaas.
    That’s a science. No body waits for half hour to drink chaas in our culture and ancient culture … god knows how confident these people are to give such new guidelines.

      IF: I have doing it for the last 2 years without any problem. Eat a good healthy breakfast, and after 8 hours gap eat your evening dinner. In betweenthe 8 hours gap you should drink plenty of water, sugar free juices, fruits and some salad vegetables, you can even sneak in one or two of your irresistable snacks once in a while. By evening 5.30/ 6pm you find yourself not so hungry but however, you must eat a well balanced light dinner. After that water is always essential.
      That is it.I have lost 7 kilos by being very steady doing this type of fasting.
      I also do a lot of weight training, and aerobics.
      There are different ways of doing IF, it depends on each person to choose whichever suits them the best and the one they can stick to without any problems.
      It helps to reduce the excess fat,especially after menopause, it brings down the sugar level, it brings down high BP and cholesterol.
      The best thing is that there is no strict dieting, only the gap has to be maintained and your last food to be had before 6pm.
      Of course when you are out with other people you can eat along with them but such ocassions happen rarely and even then you can skip the evening meal and instead have some fruits or some salad and buttermilk.
      I don't know about others but this suits me very well.

      @@ramannth well said .. even I am trying to get into this pattern.. but if I stay awake post 11 it's a challenge then

    • @ramannth
      @ramannth 5 месяцев назад

      @@sudeshnam1672 I am awake every night till almost 1 am,I get to see all my programs at that time, and I get up late also. I am 65 years. I had been getting up at 5.am everyday for about 30 years to prepare for my children's school, food etc. and go and conduct aerobics class for 1 hour. After Covid I stopped conducting classes and with kids all married, I feel I don't need to conduct classes again for I like to sleep in the early morning. However, I have not given up my exercise routine and continue them Monday to Friday for atleat 2 hours. I am actually a fitness freak.
      Once you start this IF you would get over the temptation to eat after 6pm. First I also thought I would not be able to do but after one day itself I felt I could do it. My son only inspired me into doing this IF. I am forever thankful to him.
      Actually I should go off to sleep by 10 pm at the least, maybe I should be more determined to do so, and get up by 7 am.

    Thayirsadam (curd rice) with sambar is delicious, and many south Indians live on that combo. Your Grandma lived up to 90 because she wasn't rushing from 6 am until 10 pm working at home, caring for kids, commuting, and dealing with high stress, high paying jobs. Cooking millets and all these practices when you have no help takes hours and adds more stress. Who are these impractical people giving advice?

    It’s a nice discussion, thank you. However, I’m starting to wonder, when did our Bharath turn into USA especially in the areas of food, allergies, alcohol and socialization. I had never heard of gluten or Kambocha when I moved to USA more than a decade ago. While it is pretty common here. We go looking for our Indian food here and why can’t we preserve our wonderful tried and tested foods and lifestyle for centuries by our ancestors in India!! This is alarming

    Who needs ozempic, needs ozempic. People who never struggled wigh weight loss should never come and give lectures. Yes Ayurveda works great, but it's extremely limiting and involves a lot of meticulous study, mix and match, exclusions. Also it's not suitable for all palates. You don't want a tablet, don't. Just dont pitch ayurveda against everything that comes up. I am a lifelong supporter of ayurveda and seldom take modern medicine, and I can't stand pretentious people like this.
