One thing I love about this design is the fact that it completely fills the engine gap. Looks great!

What made you decide to get rid of the k&n and go back to stock? Is taking the filter on that injen out to clean as big of a pain in the ass as it looks?

Hey - thanks for the questions. In regards to cleaning the Injen filter, yes, it is going to much harder than the K&N. Something I didn’t think about until you just mentioned it😳.
The reason I switched back to stock from the K&N was that I didn’t notice much improvement like I had with previous vehicles. (Examples: throatier sound on acceleration, improvement in acceleration, etc.). To be fair, I didn’t get the sound I wanted with the Injen CAI but that’s because of the engine. I had also preordered the Injen way before I installed the K&N and honestly forgot about it until it shipped.
Hope that helps and good call out on cleaning the filter…guess I will post a video when the day comes.
      Take care

@UnitedStites yea unfortunately all ecoboosts just sound outright bad. Is what it is. Have you put an exhaust on yours? I've been thinking of going k & n intake with the Flowmaster flow fx or borla s type. Gonna check out your BOV video now!

Actually, I was contemplating the Flowmaster FX like you mentioned but settled on the Flowmaster American Thunder about 2 weeks ago but somehow UPS lost it during shipping. I re-ordered it on Saturday and will post a video as soon as I get it installed. I was leaning more towards the FX but the wife and kids influenced a more conservative approach. Hope I don’t regret it. 😉. Keep you posted.

I was wondering the same thing about the filter - this install looked brutal compared to the K&N (which itself looked pretty difficult!), now you'll have to undo half of it just to pull and clean or change the filter, too... Yikes

I reached out to Injen support, and they replied pretty quickly. Yes, it looks like you will have to loosen some clamps and pull out the tube to access the filter. Here is their response.
The best way to clean the filter in this kit is to reverse the installation steps. We suggest loosening the clamps on both ends so the tube can move freely. Once the clamps are loose, you should be able to pull your tube out of the way. You may need to take a hose or two off depending on how much slack you have. You do only need to clean our air filters every 4 years or 100k miles and we suggest turning it a 1/4 turn. This kit is one of our more challenging kits, but you shouldn't have an issue getting to the air filter.

That is way too much bull shit to go through ….. there is no way that that kit will no void the warranty . Messing with all those pipes and sensors …….
