Hey brother Anyway that my elderly Mom can just press the minus and plus buttons to adjust the temperature? We live in Florida and she rarely uses the heat. Just got her a new AC unit yesterday but I haven’t been there to help with programming. Thanks
Absolutely! Most modern AC units have simple controls. If it's just the plus and minus buttons, she should be able to adjust the temperature easily. Just make sure to show her how it works next time you visit!
I want to get my thermostat to stay on permanent hold because I have the heat set to 65 and it won’t go above 58 and it says heat is on and fan is on and it is freezing in here
@RevishaMartinez: If the heat isn’t turning on after trying those steps, double-check that the thermostat is set to “Heat” mode and that the temperature is set higher than the current room temperature. If it’s still not working, it might be an issue with the heating system itself.
Definitely helpful, & would be for several situations! i now have this new elect. thermostat after having an old, manual one w.a 'slider'..:) T6 wasn't changing from heat to air, & i think i just needed to change the fan setting from 'Fan' to 'Fan Auto'....i'll keep checking to see if that did the trick..
Thank you very much! I have two of these, one for AC and one for the boiler. I never remember how to turn them off when it's time and you addressed that before 2 minutes in!
Yeah… the only manual the builders leftwhen we bought the place was for installation. Guess I gotta google it. But this was very helpful. I’m just tryna figure out why the bedrooms are hotter than the hallways.
What if I want to air out my house? Where I open all windows and turn cold/heat off and just want the fan to bring in the fresh spring air into my house so it can circulate. I could do that with my old thermostat how can I do that with this one?
Have this exact same model. When I toggle the Mode button, it wont give me the Em Heat option. It goes Heat, Cool, Off. How do I activate Em Heat so that it becomes available when I toggle between all the options?
Hi so what does OFF during any of the time periods in the schedule actually mean? Does it turn off cooling/heating for that period or does it mean it defaults to whatever the previous period was set to?
To turn the fan off completely, you can unplug it or use the power switch if it has one. If it’s a ceiling fan, there should be a pull chain or a wall switch to help you out!
I just got a purchased a home and I am having the hardest time with this thing .. big 86degrees so I set the permanent hold to 60 but it doesn’t seem to be getting any colder so far ..
@@DIYPinto I have not been able to fix it. It was workin fine day of closing.. then the next day the house went a half day without power . Then I turned the ac back on once power was reconnected and I got nothing.. I tried switching the thermostat to off and resetting the breaker but still hot air ..
It sounds frustrating to deal with AC issues right after closing. Have you checked the air filters or the outside unit? Sometimes a little maintenance can make all the difference!
@TallMichelleWithTheLongHair It sounds like your thermostat might be set to a temporary hold on heat. Try turning off the "Hold" option and switching the mode to "Cool." That should stop the heat and start blowing A/C.
I don't understand the difference between temporary hold or permanent hold. How long does temporary last? How do I just tell it to keep my house at a specific temp?
@kwsrchoudhury "Hold" can be temporary or permanent depending on the setting. Temporary hold keeps the temperature until the next scheduled time, while permanent hold maintains it until you manually change it. You can usually select which option you prefer through the thermostat menu.
@bubbercakes528: It sounds like your thermostat might be locked in a specific mode. Try pressing and holding the “Unlock” button to see if that lets you access other settings. If it’s still stuck, a quick power cycle might help reset it.
@ItalianChick215 If your thermostat isn’t displaying heat, it could be a settings issue or a technical problem. Make sure it’s set to the correct mode, and check if the wiring is secure. If it’s still not working, a technician might be needed.

@glove8888 If your fan is still running after turning the system off, double-check the fan settings. It should be set to "Auto" so it only runs when the system calls for it. If it’s still running, there may be a wiring issue that needs checking.

@Kandicookheller Sorry to hear that! If your thermostat won’t light up after changing the batteries, it could be an issue with the power connection or the device itself.
