A lot of heating contractors and companies are using this thermostat now. It is confusing trying to follow the instruction manual but this video REALLY HELPS on making easier to figure out. Thanks for sharing!!
This video just saved me from hassle time. The electric company have been working on outages in the area. My electricity was actually cut off and back on 37 times this morning, between 9 and 1:30 p.m. My alarm company texted me each time my wifi and alarm base would go off. So, that's how I got the count. I had used a utube video once before to set my thermostat. So, I remembered to check back here to reset it, because it had went back to the factory setting! These video's makes a 70 year old woman not feel so helpless! Thank you again! 👍🏼 ❤

Even if you still have that instruction booklet that covers the advanced set-up options/ that ISU stuff kicking around, if you get headaches dealing with fine print instructions geared to pros (like 90% of us), this RUclips video is a game changer. The electrician who installed my T4 claimed I could NOT override the schedule function in the simple way like John shows here. He said I had to stay on the schedule and go through that temp hold/perm hold business. So either he lied or doesn't like reading instruction manuals either.
We have been miserable all freaking day long my battery died I freaking replaced it took the schedule off I did everything every single video said do STUPID thing still will not come on
Thank you so much for being so thorough and explaining this thermostat in Laymans terms. We moved into a new home and the previous owner had it on a crazy schedule. Thank you for clarifying you are the best.!
Thank you this video greatly helps I been going crazy looking all over youtube for how to use this thermostat This winter has been very cold not like other winters before that where much warmer Now I'll know what to do as I have not had to reset it before
This video just saved me from waking up in the middle of the night, Sweating like crazy because prior schedule was set up and I wasn’t aware. Simple programming is off currently lol.
The previous owner left this Thermostat without programming. Here there is a temperature excursion for 14C - About 12C in the night and up to 26C peak during the day. - So having to ability to switch over night from cooling to heating was critical, but I had to do it manually. This, until you shared the ISU settings. I modified 300 only, to allow for automatic switching, which is a no brainer for people that have cooling and heating. - But I forgot to set the "Mode" to Auto .. so at first it didn't seem to work. - But then .. this morning.. woke up with a nice 23C. Thank you for your help with this. Really appreciated. :)😃
I am sure you get this all the time, John but your video literally made my night. Such a wonderful, slow, easy to understand tutorial is exactly what I needed, and Honeywell was no help! You’re a hero!!
My heating technician had difficulty programming the two T4 thermostats installed for us. He said to call the Honeywell people to get help with it. I think your videos and the manual answered all of my questions except how to turn off the cooling mode. We have a separate thermostat for AC, but he accidentally set these thermostats in a way that asks me to program the heat and AC modes - which is just annoying because it is time consuming. Thanks for making these helpful videos!
I have mine running as a simple manual thermostat, but why did the room temp NEVER reach what I set? I woke up to a 55 degree house in January when I had it set to 68.
My thermostat is reading a top number of 68 and a bottom of 74. I am trying to use the AC and it’s not turning on. It’s on cool setting and it’s says cool is on, but nothing is kicking on. Please help!
Just had a new furnace put in and this is what the contractor installed also. I'm getting rid of it and going with my old 5/2 programmable unit. This thing sucks trying to program. Liked your video though.
thank you. Our new home has the T4 but right out of the gate, no program option. Checked your vid’s and turned on the program feature under ISU 120. Not sure why it was installed that way unless it’s the default. Anywho, keep it up. Huge help!
Great video... Do you know if there's a setting for the Ability to automatically restart the thermostat after a power failure.? I'm in process of moving in. When no one's home, the furnace will not go on, will it? What if another outage when no one is home to restart thermostat?
it runs off batteries its independent of the system it controls. So losing power the thermostat doesn't even know that has happened it just continues on normally. But your heat or cooling system my reset and is what you may be referring to i think
You're the man! Before today, I didn't even know the thermostat in my rental was programmable. Couldn't find anything online about those advanced configuration opcodes either! Glad I watched before messing with configuration settings! haha
Thank you, have been trying to figure out why this thermostat doesn't follow my schedule, turns out it's got some adaptive recovery setting that tryst to get it to temp by the time the schedule says. Not good for a time of use plan, but this video gave me exactly what I needed to turn it off, thank you!!!!
Hey John, how would you correct this problem the thermostat shows “!” On the screen It won’t accept the time of the date even though it says it saved and I can’t get into the programming
Hi John. Thanks for your video. Very helpful. Is there anyway of keeping the back light on permanently? When the light go off, I cannot read the themostat from a distance.
I program my thermostat and it doesn't conform. it is set to go to 20 at 10 pm and to 24 at 630am. However some between those settings it goes to 24 beforw 630 am. At one tine when I noticed it the "restore" indicator appeared beneath the heat on indicator. How can I correct this ? Thanks in advance for your response
If its set to programable does that mean once it reaches the desired temp it will turn off then back on based on the differential temperature ISU code 303? Mine currently runs at ISU 365 stage 3 and it runs at 10minutes on and 10 minutes off but you didnt go over the codes functions
How do i get my thermostat to turn off the heat when not needed. Ran A/C system during the summer and it would automatically turn off when set temperature was reached. We have now switched to heat and it continues to run past the set temperature and when i turn it to off it continues running (?????)
Thank you!! This is amazing Video and pretty much cleared everything. My question is can we completely shutdown (power off) and can power on again? Its unnecessarily running whole day and night
At 2:38 you press + and the screen changes from (Mode, Menu, Fan) to (Hold, Menu, Cancel). When I press +, the options stay exactly the same (Mode, Menu, Fan). What am I doing wrong?
Have just bought a Honeywell RTH6360 and the room says it's 78 but it's really 73 so the AC keeps going and doesn't get read the temp. How do I calibrate the temp?
The previous owner had a lock on this so the menu option doesn't show. Instead, I see the unlock option. However, I can't unlock cause I don't have the passcode. Help!
What happens if the heat option is on, the room temp is 70, the set temp is 60? Does the unit stay off until the point the room reaches 59, then kicks on?
You can help me , right now too hot ,I’m try reset the same this video but my home too hot, I don’t know why my house big number alway 87 ,I control little number 70 or 65 but big number not down, help me how do that .
if your a/c is working correctly that big # takes some time to come down. A/C could need to run for a whole day to manage the heat load in your home and to actually cool. Always leave it on so it manages the temp 24/7. Huge temp differentials put a huge strain on the system and will not cool as fast as leaving it set all day all week to hold 75F for example.
My Honeywell Home switch is completely off. I mistakenly press the timer and since the device was off. it isn't easy to turn it on. Please advise. Thank you
@JohnFrancoNH Is there a way to set the thermostat to start cooling when the temp goes up 3° instead of every time it goes up 1°? I feel like it’s running way too much during the day
Theres no way to change that value. You will have to fully program it for each of the 4 periods of the day accordingly. You can try decreasing the CPH which is the amount of cycles per hour it can turn off/on your system. So it doesnt turn on as frequent
The temporary and permanent hold messages are in small font and thermostats are often in poorly lit hallways- far from ideal to see the hold status The control head needs a red led to indicate that a temporary hold is in effect
I totally understand what you're saying. I have the same issue as my thermostat is in a dark hallway as you mentioned mentioned have you found any way to make the font and numerals in the display larger? I haven't found anything at all.
My thermostat lights up when you press any button but is completely unresponsive no matter what button i press even though it lights up. How do i fix that issue?
My father has it set temporary hold which it goes to 62 and he told me the number on the bottom doesn’t matter that I just set it to 70 @ 8am & 70 @ 10pm.
Just bought the house wife turned it into Celsius..th411says unlock when I do it says home number 5 back and select not sure what to do called the company they wanted two hondos.i can't afford it plz help I have just a forced air heat.
Hey man, great video. The default password of 1234 is the first thing the other people in my house guessed and they keep unlocking and changing the temperature. It won’t allow me to change the password. If I physically remove the face of the unit off the wall, will everything still run with the last settings it was on? I hate this thermostat.
My fan is on auto but it still won’t turn off, it’s going 24/7. I want it to temporarily turn off and on like a regular ac. We had to replace our ac unit 2 months ago and the fan has been going 24/7 ever since making my bill and humidity in the house go up.
Hi thank you for taking the time to find these codes. I am trying to review your video to see if a code is specific to where the cool air goes. My AC used to flow strong in the master bed / closet. I went into the ISU and may have adjusted 120/2 or 300/3. One of those changes Celsius and Fahrenheit. I thought I changed it all back but my bedroom at 90’ used to feel manageable and the Ac turned on quickly. Now at 84’ it feels hotter like 95’. Of course the apartment setup is flawed so the AC is in the master and the thermostat is across the other side of the 2 BD apt it barely cools the bed but does cool the living room. So if you know of any settings that may adjust Cool settings or where/how the unit turns on or flows I would appreciate it greatly.
Sorry for so Many questions but this is a legit concern as it’s 120 here. The very first code you mentioned 120. You said they were option zero through four, but I have no idea what any of those numbers refer to. You may have a basic understanding of how these devices work and you may know how to interpret those numbers, but I have no idea which number I would use if I change the setting I have no idea how to determine how to set it back. I’d experiment but it seems that is a complicated way of trying to figure this system out.
