Agree. Lying is not always wrong. In fact, it's a social necessity at times. If we always told the truth, to everyone, about everything, in every situation, just think how crazy that would be. Daily social interaction would become so abrasive and harsh that nobody would get along. Lying is often what enables us to be polite.
The fact that a defense/justification for this subpar pattern of behavior exists and is promoted/endorsed/distributed by this info-tainment giant, only serves to further cement my faith in mankind's inevitable and appropriate, self-perpetuated extermination, which honestly can't come soon enough.
I don’t like what he did at all. Im sorry, don’t mean to hurt anyone, but I’m sure his father knew he was lying. I would’ve agreed with my dad, it doesn’t look great, and help him talk about how he felt about it, that he was most likely going to die. That’s what makes for honest and intimate relationships.
Consider this: the pain of a father watching his son fall into dispair because of his dying father's condition. That is more devastating to the father than the cancer. So this spared the father of that additional pain.
@@Brindlebrendaadventures Hmmmmm, I think you might be telling on yourself... (I'm kidding! And I was hoping the bit of exaggeration and quippy tone was coming across in my initial post, so please read that in if it didn't 😊)
I find it difficult to believe anything said by someone who is giving a talk extolling the value of lying. How do I know when he is telling the truth, or lying for convenience. I try really hard to be truthful in my life. It’s not always easy, that’s for sure, but at least people who know me can trust what I say. I doubt that anyone would say the same about this speaker.
Whether or not people believe you only tells if you're a GOOD liar or not. I trust the speaker as much as I would any person, because everyone lies. If anything they're being MORE honest.
Without lying there would be no community and no one would be safe

10:30 ..."it didn't feel great to lie.."
Number 1 fact lying can also save a person's life
Narrator: "It was later discovered that this... was a lie."
(You're not wrong; I just think that's funny)
I knew lying was a good thing all along
A Catholic telling us that big, giant lies are good if they're done with the intent of benefiting society. Hmmmm 😝
ahahahah exactly
Prosocial lies, not big, gigantic lies.
Polite society requires lying. We all use minor deceptions at times to grease social interaction.
