Yeah I am vegetarian and have food allergies I’ve only had issues there if there was accidental cross contamination. Del taco on other hand makes me have issues nearly every time. Taco Bell brags about their vegetarian friendly options.

Taco Bell has never affected my stomach. Yes, locally run, owned and authentic Mexican restaurants are a better option but for fast food, it's pretty good. I love the Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

Chalipas, Gordian, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, etc. are ALL good! The only way Taco Bell will give you a rough time is if you overindulge and get many free refills on soda!

The soft shell is cheesed to the hardshell, and it keeps the hard shell from breaking and becoming a mess.

People say that about Taco Bell but I’ve never gotten the runs from there. I have a very sensitive stomach and bowels so I would for sure have an issue if they gave the majority of people issues. I also don’t use any of the hot sauce stuff so maybe that’s what does it. The chalupa supreme without tomatoes is my go to. Update: I’m getting Taco Bell for lunch tomorrow because of this.

When you have tacos or a lot of Mexican food, part of the experience is adding salsa, pico de gallo, sour cream and other condiments. This to me is what elevates the food to a whole other level. So if what you add to your shell and meat is lettuce ,Tomatoe and cheese only.Your missing all the flavours that put it over the top!

Carol, you and Recky can change it up by either baking or cooking chicken , shredding it and adding the taco seasonings and the toppings. It's quite tasty and a very nice change. Here in Wyoming we have Taco Bell & also Taco time. We prefer Taco Time but occasionally will go to Taco Bell. It's a matter of preference.

Please supporters send them the Taco Bell products we have which are many items in our stores to make a close version of the real Taco Bell. Boxes of shells , cans of refried beans & packets of sauces & bottles of hot sauces. My fav the green salsa verde. So they can make it & see what it might taste like. Just wrap them up well & maybe put in a plastic sealed container in the box.

Hard shells are from corn, soft from flour. And the others are types of fry bread. I think there's a cheese sauce in between the shells of a cheesy gordita, my personal favorite is the chalupa and those twists are delicious as well. And I've never had a problem eating there either.

The one thing I love about us here in the USA is our excitement to take another culture's food and put a twist on it. We do this time and time again with many cultures. It's not out of disrespect but a lot of times about what was available to people in the area the food was developed.

Some of my family are TexMex, others are from Mexico, still others are from Spain, so I use beef like barbacoa, pork like Carnitas or Pastor ,chicken, fish, but my favorite is called taco de Chili Relleno a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with Chihuahua cheese, dipped in an egg batter and fried then served in a corn tortilla with a light tomato sauce, 2nd favorite is carnitas, pork roast braised in citrus juices and oregano and lots of garlic, again a corn tortilla and toppings of avocado and tomato, onion and cilantro dices/chopped and a green salsa with crema. But there is goat, sheep, and several other vegetarian ones as well. I prefer corn over wheat tortillas for texture taste and health benefits, and not the hard shell, that is pretty much an American thing, they do have tostadas which are flat crunchy and made of corn that are similar and anything you put in a taco can be put on a tostada

Gordita is Spanish slang for "fat little girl". The real thing is a deep-fried masa harina (a kind of cornmeal) shell, stuffed with meat and cheese. They're much smaller than regular tacos, but twice as thick.

Try them with thin strips of steak, sauteed green peppers and onions. With fajita seasoning if you have it, but if not use taco seasoning. Cheese and sour cream, soft taco shell. Yum. Taco soup is good, too.

The soft shell on the Cheesy Gordita Crunch is like a flat bread more than say a flour tortilla. It actually holds onto to hard taco shell by melted cheese. The Chaluoa Supreme is the same flat bread just deep fried. Now we have Chaluoa night at our house sometimes but we typically use the hard shell tortillas or what Old El Paso has recently come up with "The Boats". It's soft tortilla in the shape of a little boat. Now something y'all can also try is putting soft tortillas on the under side of a muffin tin. You can turn them into tortilla bowls if you cook them in the oven that way. Oh and also, you can put really any kind of meat into a taco. Shredded chicken, beef, pork, and fish.

  • @carolsemonco5431
    @carolsemonco5431 5 месяцев назад

Hi from another Carol! My favorite and they don't make it anymore was the double decker taco and it's easy to make at home. Take a flour tortilla and warm up some refried beans, thinned out with a little water of sour cream and spread over the top to the edges, Then take a hard shell taco and lay in the middle and bring up the sides of the soft shell and the beans will "glue" it to the hard shell. Then add your shredded cheese and top with taco meat, diced onions and tomatoes , sour cream and lettuce and add what ever hot sauce or salsa you want! If no refried beans the take the soft taco and top all over with shredded cheese and warm in the microwave or boiler to melt the cheese and proceed with the rest. The taco bell meat itself is mild in flavor, they have packets of hot sauces to take to make it as spicy as you desire.

My son makes chalupas for us from scratch -- he rolls out the dough and we poke it with a fork all over and hold it down in a oil filled deep fryer for just a small amount of time and drain on paper towel -- then we fill like a taco but instead of cheddar cheese we use Queso Fresco a white Mexican cheese you crumble on top -- then we dap with a sauce that is made of sour cream with a bit of siracha mixed together -- they are the most yummy sloppy amazing things you would ever want to try -- we season our taco meat with a brand called Chi Chis restarante blend that I would love to send to you if I knew a address to use -- Its WAY better than regular taco seasoning -- It has a unique flavor I need a good address please

I often add a small can of refried beans to 2 pounds of ground beef, along with the taco seasoning. The beans help hold all the little bits of beef together while adding some good flavor. Diced onion, lettuce and tomato on top of the meat and bean mixture and colby-jack or cheddar cheese on top. To finish ,I put a dollop of sour cream and some mild salsa on top. Recky, if you want to take the spiciness of your salsa down a bit, just mix it with a bit of sour cream. Your sensitive taste buds may find it easier to tolerate.

Taco Bell is like mexican food with a hip and crazy twist that you won't find anywhere else. Most of their items are not just "normal" burritos and tacos.
My favorites are the Crunchwrap Supreme, Chalupa Supreme, Cheesy Gordita Crunch, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Doritos Locos Taco, power bowls, and wash it down with a Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Mountain Dew Baja Blast is a Mountain Dew flavor that you can only get at Taco Bell.
Cheesy Gordita Crunch is the one that has a soft tortilla on the outside, wrapped around a hard taco shell, and liquid cheese between both.
Chalupa Sepreme is very different from the Cheesy Gordita Crunch. The Chalupa Supreme fearures a deep fried pita bread as the only thing that holds everything.
I haven't tried the new $5 box yet, but I really want to.
Taco Bell used to give me the runs more in the past, now it just keeps me on my normal schedule.

I’m lucky. I live in Tucson, AZ which is just 60 miles from the Mexico border. You can practically find a taco shop on every other block. Real Mexican tacos do not have lettuce, cheese or sour cream. Most have meat or fish, cabbage and any one of several types of salsas or cremas ( cream sauce). My favorites are cabeza ( meat from beef head), carnitas ( pork), and camarone (shrimp).

Gorditas are thicker, corn and can be used this or like a pita for Gyros where it has a pocket that is stuffed with stews or other typical taco fillings, also they are not typically fried, they are placed on a griddle to cook, and it really is not doughy when used as it was intended.

I’ve never been to Taco Bell, so I can’t share any personal experience. But, the soft bread outside the crunchy taco shell is a Gordita. Usually a soft corn meal pancake that’s filled with meat, cheese and veggies. You might like to try fish tacos. Usually in a flour tortilla, with lettuce, tomato with chunks of white fish, can be either breaded and fried or plain cooked, with more of a mayo or sour cream based sauce drizzled in. I’m wondering if one of your American cookbooks would have a recipe.

Like say a simple ham and cheese sandwich and add either regular potato chips inside it...or Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos, etc...for the soft but crunchy experience.
The gordita bread is covered with refried beans then wrapped around the hard shell. The beans help hold it together.

Taco Bell was so much better back in the '70s and '80s. They changed the hard taco shells sometime in the late '80s/early '90s to genetically modified corn, which noticeably changed the texture and taste of their shells. I miss their tostadas.

have you ever seen those Chinese dried noodles that are dropped in hot grease and they like quadruple in size and "blow up"? That is the type of noodle the cinnamon twists are made of. They are very lite and wispy and have a small amount of flavor and are dusted in sugar and cinnamon. They are very nice actually (IMO) and my little Chihuahua (Miss Bailey) LOVES THEM! I live within walking distance to the closest Taco Bell and they are always so busy they had to create a better way to work the drive-thru so it doesn’t interfere with the parking lot 😁. So many menu items that are my favorites that didn’t make the show lol. I love the quesadilla cheese without the sauce and sometimes with chicken. I grew up with Tex-Mex food when I lived in San Antonio Texas.
I miss all the delicious foods now that I live in Australia.
I have tried to make my own stuff from the limited ingredients Australia has.
    My little advice is....
You can put taco seasoning on chicken and pork as well, shredded goes good in a taco.
Spices I use to achieve a sort of Tex-Mex-ish flavor are...
Cumin, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder.
Equal amounts of each , except a bit less of the chili powder depending on how spicy you want it.
There is Taco Bell in Australia now, the nearest one to me is about 4 hours away..lol.
It used to be affordable fast food that was tasty back when I lived in Texas.
Anyhooooo....thank you for another drool worthy video. =-)

its easier to eat a taco that way. the oft shell has refrid beans spread on it (thin layer, sort of) and you.re right, it helps with the breaking of hard shell. also, you can google what taco seasoning is made off (spices)...a gordita ia like a thicker soft tortitta, almost like a naan flatbread.

I personally don't like tacos for the reason you guys mentioned having the second shell. They break and you lose all the stuff. So, I instead make myself taco salad. I use all the same ingredients as a taco from the seasoned meat to the lettuce, cheese, tomato......I crush up the shell and use it in place of croutons and then I put ranch dressing over mine. I honestly love taco salad and it makes eating tacos clean and easy.

The Gordita is similar to a thicker flour tortilla deep fried. I dont know how they fry it so evenly and golden though. It seems to be tortilla dough but made like fry bread

Taco Bell giving you the runs is a joke with some reality to it. Anytime you eat something your stomach isn't used to, it can have some issues, whether it is spicy hot or has strong/strange spices or just a big change from what you usually have.
It's also due to the same joke involving Mexican food/eating in Mexico.
Add to it the fact that it is "cheap" fast food and a late-night greasy drunk food, lol.

Oh yeah... you could try and stick a flour tortilla to a hard shell one by using re-fried beans, if you have a can of that by any chance. Just a thought...lol.

It is more of a joke about getting the runs. I think there are other factors involved if people get the runs after eating Taco Bell.
8:00 If you make the Gordita Crunch at home, notice there is a layer of refried beans between the hard and soft shells.
15:00 First, they are eating the Crunch Wrap wrong. It needs to be dipped in sauce to get the proper enjoyment.

people Mc Donalds Mac Lax as in a laxative, probably more that get a bad reputation.
Now if you take a flour tortilla, cut it into pie wedges, brush the top with a pastry brush and a little water (very little) and then dust with cinnamon sugar, bake on a cookie sheet until lightly browned and crunchy. low fat, you control the sugar. I do it all steps on the cookie sheet. I bake about 90% of my stuff at 350 degrees. then mix cut up fruit apple, strawberry, kiwi, whatever add a little bit of jelly to bind it eat chips and fruit salsa

Great video. I'm not a fan of Taco Bell however I love tacos. I make my own seasoning mix of chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cinnamon and unsweetened cocoa. Get a pork shoulder weighing about a kilo, rub the spice mixture all over the meat, let marinate uncover in the refrigerator for overnight. The next day take 2 large pieces of aluminum foil, double them and set the pork and a bulb of garlic cut in half in the foil and wrap securely with opening on top. Put the wrap in a baking pan and roast at 135C for 4 hours. This is low and slow. All the fat and cartilage melt into wonderful juices. Be careful when unwrapping the foil you don't want to loose the juices in the bottom of the foil. The meat will just fall a part into pieces which you then put in your tortilla with whatever toppings you. In Mexico they don't use lettuce but thinly sliced cabbage for a crunch. You can also shred the pork for the taco. You can use a piece of beef that you use in a pot roast with the same method. You can experiment with different spices. It's all about the method. Also take chicken parts, I prefer the boneless skinless legs and thighs rub then with spice mix and saute in butter. Well, this was long. Have a wonderful day and Happy Cooking.

Taco Bell has so many items on their menu! They have their own Taco Bell sauce mild or hot, or the dry seasoning packet for tacos… I personally love the taste! Besides crunchy tacos I also have softshell tacos! My personal favorite is the chicken soft shell taco! well… You can also round out your meal with refried beans with cheese and sauce on it or Mexican rice with sauce green onions and sour cream on it and cheese! The cinnamon twists are great! They are constantly changing their menu which makes me sad they got rid of my very favorite the end Charito captain smothered with red sauce cheese and olives! You don’t find jalapeños in Taco Bell’s food but I don’t know it’s a great Mexican fast food Stop!

The problem with Taco Bell is the amount of fat/grease - a lot of people can't tolerate that much! The tacos we used to get were literally dripping fat. There's Taco Cabana here in Texas, they're pretty good for a chain.

Also, a kind of "secret hack" is to try the cinnamon twists with a bit of the Mild Taco Bell Sauce on it, not hot at all and the spice and sweet is amazing together

I wish I wasn't dirt poor right now or I'd go to walmart and buy some taco bell seasoning for your homemade taco's to taste like taco bell and also buy a couple bottles of taco bell hot sauces and send it all to you so you could better understand the difference between taco bell flavors and other brands.
The crunch wrap supreme isn't as good as it used to be. Over the years they have slowly reduced how much is actually in them but not reduced the amount of tortilla that is wrapped around it, so it's mostly tortilla now. I did like them when they were first introduced back around 2005/6 but just isn't the same anymore.
