I'm not sure if you are aware, but Herr's is a Pennsylvania company, still family owned. It was started in 1947 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Lancaster Country has a high population of Amish and Mennonite people in addition to descendants of German settlers. You can read more about Herr's history on their website About Us. - which is what I did to refresh my memory! Herrs is highly regarded by the people in the metro Philadelphia area including South New Jersey. They have really high quality and tasty snacks!
Herr brand chips make their way to St.Louis sometimes. I see their small snack size bags often in vending machines, and larger bags in gas stations or grocery stores.
I'm from Oklahoma will we get some variety of them here and they're better and cheaper than Cheetos😂😂@@spacehonky6315
James S. Herr started his Potato Chip business in 1946 when he was just 21 years old. He and I are both descendants of Bishop Hans Herr who brought the Mennonites to Lancaster County from Switzerland in 1710.
@@CyndiDeimler Interesting history. So Jim Herr was Mennonite? It wasn't clear to me from the internet info I could find.
I’m in Pittsburgh and they’re the only chips I buy😊
In 2023, $147 billion was spent on our pets in the U.S. We have a lot of different varieties of food just for our pets!
Hey everyone. Thanks to whomever sent this package ahead of time ❤. Love watching these.
Beanie Weenies, just heat and eat. They are like baked beans with sliced hot dogs mixed in. Mom used to make me this for lunch.
This is the earliest I’ve ever caught a premiere. Not feeling well, but here is Recky and Carol to brighten my day.
Hope you feel better soon 🌹
@@reckyNcarol thank you.
You buy Velveeta off the shelf and you don't have to refrigerate it until it's opened. Comes in sealed foil that's inside a cardboard container.
You two are PRECIOUS!! Thank you so much for your channel!
Here's a Pennsylvania secret. Put the TastyKakes in the freeze for three or four minutes. The icing sticks to the wrapper much less. Almost any TastyKake is wonderful dipped in milk. Don't go too mushy.
The beanie weenies are just baked beans with little hot dogs. When our kids were out of school for the summer, we would get a few cans so they could heat them up for lunch.
When away at college, Ramen noodles and hot sauce kept our kids alive. Not a fan, but they love them.
Wifey shreds some chicken breast and chucks it in a pan with a can of Rotel. Makes a quick, spicey taco filling.
Eating locally made honey should help ease sinus issues. Local bees collecting pollen from local flowers.
You can add the creamed corn to the Jiffy cornbread mix.
Thousand Island dressing: mayo, Ketsup and pickle juice. Great for Rubin sandwich: slice corn beef, melted sharp cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, them buttered toasted in a skillet
Rubens need Swiss cheese, not sharp cheddar!!
And don't forget corn beef specials that are basically Ruben sandwich but made cold with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut and both Rubens and corn beef specials are made on Rye bread!
My dad wouldn't touch a Reuben sandwich with Thousand Island... Russian dressing only... swiss cheese and Rye bread.
Sweet Moa. She will always be the star.
I've not run across a couple so genuine as you. I love the honesty
“Caravan” is the British word for the US “camper”/“camper trailer”.
💙🇺🇲 Wow Becky, you're a true Rock Star💫🌟🌟🌟🌟 We could all see how much your gift meant to Recky and how both himself and Carol appreciate your thoughtfulness soooo very much. You did good! 😊
The Herr's brand of chips are spot on when it comes to flavor!! If anyone can find and send them corn flavored chips by Herr's, it will be a great show!
I think Recky shed a tear over coconut tastycakes. I used a can of Rotel in a deconstructed stuffed pepper soup tonight! Jiffy mixes and Rotel are pantry staples. I keep at least three of each on hand at all times.
(Please refrigerate the two salad dressings because they have been opened!)
So much fun to watch these. You need to get that house so you will have room for everything!
Very generous gifts. I live in Pennsylvania and I know all about Herr's and Tastykakes....!! 😃🥰
Man, I just love y'all, makes my day when a new recky and carol vid pops up, thank you
I'm so glad you have such a good friend in Pennsylvania! I love watching you try the foods I grew up with!
Hehe, "Get the spoon" would be a great T-shirt
Oh my gosh the coconut cake reaction! My favorite moment of the video. Hilarious
Beenee weenees are just to heat up & eat. It's beans & cut up hotdogs, thus the name. Rotel can be used in so many dishes: cheese dip, chili, spaghetti, lasagna, Fiesta chicken, etc.... this was a fabulous unboxing treat!!! ❤❤
Rub that garlic and herb seasoning with some melted butter in and outside a whole fryer(chicken) and bake till golden brown 😊
Yay Moa! we have so much variety and it always varies from state to state, I see things constantly that I don't see here in NY lol love y'all!!
This was one of the best reactions to an unboxing! I just love you two and please give sweet Moa a big ole American hug 🥰 ❤❤❤
Green Goddess makes a great pasta salad - pasta, lots of fresh veggies, Green Goddess. Rotel Dip - substitute cream cheese and cheddar cheese for the Velveeta. Jiffy makes great pancakes and waffles. You made donuts, use the donut maker to make cornbread donuts.
Here's what i do when its too hot to cook i wait till 8-10 at night when its cooler then i cook enough to last a couple days i dont waste as much food and i dont get heat stroke doing it😂😂👍👍
Great idea fur baby unboxing😽😽👍👍
I love how the kitty is supervising!
The popcorn seasoning is also good on mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs
1 can of Rotell, 2 blocks cream cheese, 1 pound breakfast sausage,,, great nacho chip dip
I love the Thousand Island on burgers
Great Awesome Things Ya Are Amazing Love From USA Missouri
Thankfulness, gratefulness, & excitement is wonderful to watch. You make me smile.😃
"Herr" in German is like "Mister" in English. It sounds more like hair than her.
Green goddess dressing js delicious. It has anchovy in it, as well as tarragon, which is a mild anise flavor. I LOVE that herb.
Also, goat cheese does not have lactose in it. Completely safe for cats.
Herrs is a strong regional brand, but it can be found in other states besides Pennsylvania and New Jersy, just less choices and rare appearances in my grocery store! Regional brands and foods are what make traveling fun in the US.
Just a tip, having the spices over the stove allow moisture from cooking to cause the spices to clump sooner and shorten the lifespan of the spices.
Great and yummy stuff in those boxes, very nice. Its just different to me seeing a tastykake being eaten without having a cold glass of milk to wash it down... To me thats heaven.
GREAT BOX, PENNSYLVANIA!
You’ve got more than a friend living in Pennsylvania; the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is your friend. In other words, the people of Pennsylvania are friendly and welcoming. “You’ve Got a Friend in Pennsylvania!” was at one time our State motto and printed on our license plates. My best friend’s mother came up with the phrase when she was a State Representative. I’m so glad to see that Tastykake has found its way to Sweden. This is, in my opinion, the very best commercial snack cake bakery in the USA. Little Debbie, Hostess, Dolly Madison, and Drakes all pale in comparison. Tastykake is headquartered at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Carol,
Use the Ro tel. For Mexican night
You can use Hamburger and put cumin , chili powder , onion, and garlic powder , with the hamburger , fry your burger. And put the ro tel in after you drain the grease off your hamburger, add the ro tel and add what ever cheese you like if you like pepper jack use that to melt in the hamburger and rotel. Makes a great taco
You can also get a pork loin , and put it in the oven with beef bouillon , pepper , cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion, and Cover cook in oven 350 degrees. For two hours, or until meat is tender and falls apart , then take out of the pan and shred. The meat and in a skillet add rotel and cheese and heat until cheese is melted , great for. Tortillas or place on corn tortilla chips and make nachos
Do your stores sell the portable airconditioners that you can stand them on the floor and they pull humidity out of the air. They could cool your apt
Pennsylvania is home of many different potatoe chip manufacturers. Herrs, Utz, and Wise are fantastic. Herrs cheese curls are incredible.
Beenie weenies is like baked beans with little chunks of hot dogs in it😊😊👍👍
It has s occurred to me that after watching many of your (and other reactors from outside of the US) who are so impressed with the "intense" flavors we use in our food products... It's why we Americans are suffering from obesity. 😆🤣😂🤣
When stuff tastes so good.. you just kinda can't help but eat it.
Excellent video, as usual! Much love from Washington State.
I bought some Herr's grilled cheese and tomato soup cheese puffs a few weeks ago, they were delicious. Tasted exactly like grilled cheese and tomato soup! Lol. Keeping Moa in my prayers.❤🐈⬛
Thousand Island dressing is what they use as the main part of McDonald's Big Mac sauce and In-N-Out Burger sauce.
Recky you can sprinkle the popcorn powders on french fries too
I love Jiffy corn muffins!! They are more like cake than actual cornbread. Much finer. ❤
There are hundreds of ways to use Ro-Tel. You can saute chicken pieces in a skillet (with a package of your taco seasoning), and when it's almost done add a cup of rice, can of RoTel , 8 ounce can of tomato sauce, cup of water, corn (can or frozen), black beans, bring it to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Stirring occassionaly. Top it with cheese and cover again until melted. You can add sour cream and eat it by the spoonful, or you can use it as a taco filling inside your tortilla. It's a product of Texas. I also love it in Stuffed Pepper soup and I mix it into meatloaf.
Hey Carol, the thing about the Jiffy corn muffins vs pancakes.....we make pancakes, or hoe cakes or Johnny cakes out of corn batter here in the USA. You can eat them plain with butter, you can make them by adding cheese, or cheese and jalapeno.....the sky is the limit and they are delicious. Instead of pouring batter into the molds, you pour it into a hot skillet and flip when the first side is done! Don't forget you can also dip hotdogs or sausages into the corn batter and deep fry them into corn dogs. One amazing batter and so many, endless possibilities.
You can dip fresh cold veggies in all the salad dressings just for a snack. They also be marinades and great on sandwiches too
You mix the Rotel with velveeta cheese melted in a slow cooker. Excellent dip!
❤from CALIFORNIA.
Carol… you can make thousand island yourself. Mayonnaise, ketchup and sweet relish. Start with 1/4 cup of the mayo and 1/4 cup ketchup. Stir until smooth. Add tablesoon of the sweet relish. Stir. Some people like a little more relish and or more ketchup. Better and cheaper than store bought.
You guys are so awesome and amazing and make me laugh and make me smile. You just make my day. Keep on rocking much love your friend from Michigan- Richie-
Beanie weenies (a.k.a. franks and beans) is a dish that works well as a main dish or as a side. It consists of hot dogs and baked beans. Some times folks add a side of coleslaw or a salad and corn bread. An addition of crisp bacon can be done too
Really nice gifts. You all are very generous. Super nice to see love the show too. Everybody has a great evening.
I eat plain ramen with some of those sauces. Use the flavor packet for rice, etc. instead of salt.
Rotel has pepper spices. Mild is Recky heat. Use anywhere you would normally use diced tomatoes but want a bit of spice. The spice is now in the food instead of on the food. Very nice. I usually use Med spice level. Spanish rice, beans and rice, stews, etc.
I like Carols sanpaku eyes when she tastes something really good.
Just waiting on Recky to grow and turn green and start saying "RECKY SMASH!"😂
Things like Beanie Weenies you just pop the top and either eat out of the can, or pour in a bowl, no need to heat unless you want to.
Beans and weenies are good on nachos and on hotdogs. Also good with corn bread😊
Tastykake is for me the best for snack cakes. Hostess and Little Debbie have some favorites but you can't go wrong with Tastykake.
Drakes are very good too.
I eat those cheese curls all the time and my cat loves them
The can of rotel can be used to make a layered taco dip
Creamed corn- 2 tablespoons butter with one tablespoon flour make a roux med high heat. Light brown is good to continue. Whisk in one cup milk and one cup cream, pepper to taste, little garlic powder, little cayenne powder. Stir in 5 cups cooked corn. Once it bubbles (10 minutes or so) turn heat down to simmer for about 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Add salt to your taste and more pepper if you wish. I love lots of pepper in mine.
I like to take a can of Rotel in the pan while cooking rice. Great side to go along with any Mexican meal.
Go UAlbany!! My niece just graduated from that university.
Im a pennsylvania girl who lives near herrs. Alot of places are named after places in England example Herrs is in Nottingham near Oxford. They offer free tours at Herrs. Pennsylvania has cheese steaks hoagies chow chow whoopi pies scrapple perogies im glad yous liked the goodies. Herrs honey barbecue is so good!
Add the cream corn to your jiffy cornbread mix
Hi from another Carol! The creamy chicken ramen is my absolute favorite. I'm like you, Carol, in the warmer months I don't want too much of the broth, just the noodles. so I cook them with less water than it calls for and let most of the water cook away and it makes a thicker base for the flavor packet. I do add some butter with some of the flavor packet to taste so that it's not too salty and sometimes I will add some peas or cooked leftover chicken and mix those in. It's my favorite comfort food after macaroni and cheese! I'm a huge popcorn fan ,too, it's my favorite snack!!
Beanie Weenies is a stand alone food. It's baked beans with hot dogs cut up and put in it.
i LOVE the Coconut Jrs
Could someone send Recky the Herr's Honey Cheese Curls that are NOT the hot ones so he could actually enjoy them! :D Also Recky and Carol.. the coconut tastykake Jrs. are my favorite!!! And Beanie weanies are baked beans with pieces of hot dog sliced up in it.
Thousand Island is ketchup, mayo, and pickle relish mixed together.
25:51 The moment before Carol takes a bite!
you need to get a french press. no electricity needed. they have them entirely made of stainless steele instead of glass... i use one and i love it.... only makes 2 super large coffees at a time...
Big Mac Sauce at McDonald's is basically Thousand Island dressing. That may be why you recognize the flavor.
Fantastic box PA!
Love your shirt!!!! we have 3 Great Danes!!!
it is I'm an adult kid and I absolutely love tastykakes and Entenmann’s
It’s really funny, having a sleepless night. Anyway, it’s funny that now that I moved from Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, PA I still feel like a tourist here. Pittsburgh is a strange sense they are so different to the surrounding areas not alone what I thought traditional Pennsylvania was. Plus, I’m still learning what traditional foods, like traditional Dutch Pennsylvanian foods that I’ve actually grown up with in my small Ohio town that was closer to Indiana. I guess my German side of the family must have kept as traditions as I’m pretty sure they moved through the states from the upper part of Pennsylvania down to were they settled in Ohio. Yet, one of my NOW favorite dishes, that I can’t have to often as my husband is allergic to one of the ingredients, is Polish Noodles. My mom would always make it on New Year’s Day. I only discovered it’s a favorite in Dutch Pennsylvanian traditional foods, I think, when I made my first dish of it for New Year’s Day this year. Yet, I need to find an egg noodles replacement due to my husband allergies 😩
I like to put rotel in the skillet with sautéed zucchini and squash, whatever seasoning you like, a little olive oil and Parmesan cheese and toss it with that Angel hair pasta. Rotel is very spicy to me unless your can says mild just fyi Recky
Tasty cake has the best powered mini doughnuts 😋😋😋😋😋😋
I had starbucks in Stockholm 20 yrs ago.
Put the cream corn on top of the cornbread.
Thousand Island dressing is really good on a sandwich, specifically a hot roast beef and cheddar sub sandwich.
There is a competitor to Starbucks called Caribou Coffee that has good coffee too.
my favorite HERRs chips are the dark (burnt) potato chips
Wish TastyKakes were available in states such as mine, my pen pal used to send them to me. Picante chicken ramen is spicy and it’s my favorite, I add a slice of American cheese to it. ❤
What a wonderful unpacking. Love to your kitties especially our star Moa
Are use rotelle in chili, soups, stews and even in my salad sometimes
Hey everyone
Carol, almost every food item has a website to get recipes for the product.
Cool, my home state! I was born in what's called "The WIlds"... 2 hours from Pittsburgh, 2 hours from Erie and smack in the middle of nowhere! Herr's is good, but I'm an Utz girl through and through. Down here in VA where I now live, we'd have to search high and low to find Tastykake products... sad, sad times let me tell ya. But then Hostess did their thing and Tastykake took over... thank goodness!!
Good for camping.
As far as the Beanie Weenies you can cook bacon or hot dogs and mix it into the Beans just FYI.
Regarding the popcorn flavorings, try adding it on French fries or fried potatoes in general.
Fantastic unboxing! Sorry I had to m8ss the premiere. Glad you got so many amazing things from Becky, Shorkie, and that certain soneone from Pennsylvania.
Yes it was so much fun 😍
