    Note to self: Cutting list is at 4:20! (I have an old practice quilt that I think would be better served by turning it into a bag. It's not big enough for my lap and not pretty enough for the wall, but I'm still fond of it and would like to see it get a new life.)

    I love it! This could be a good carry on bag, overnight bag. I know when I travel by air, I have projects like knitting and clothes, in case I get way laid at an airport, or an unexpected free night at a hotel, waiting for the next flight... and have my tablet, charger and phone, all with something to do. It weighs a lot less than my luggage! I do wonder how I'm able to carry knitting needles on a plane, but only coffee I've purchased inside the security area. Regardless of what I'm carrying, I'm always the one person who gets the pat down through the TSA. It never fails 😅. I took my daughter to the airport to study abroad in Ireland, and out of everyone in line, I got pulled over for a free massage, and I wasn't flying! It's just become a family joke now. 😂

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  8 месяцев назад +2

      My first thought was how did you get through with knitting needles? I wen't to Japan many years ago with my embroidery, and had to precut all my threads, but fortunately was allowed to take a sewing needle onboard😊

    • @sharonwilson8208
      @sharonwilson8208 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@ChristinesHomeAffairs It was 5 years ago. Metal knitting needles, the long ones. Everyone around me was watching every stitch. Though not spunky young, I was hardly old, I reminded them of Grandma. I got that a lot flying as a Red Cross volunteer. But, I frequently travelled with my knitting! I had to go barefoot in the line, throw my coffee out, but knit away! I was surprised I was able to knit behind the TSA line, but on the plane as well. I just got "What a pretty color".

    Happy Mother’s Day, Christine! You’ll probably see this after the fact, but know you were thought of in the states.❤
    I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bag! I’m working on tote bags now and have decided to add a tab with D ring inside to add keys, extra card holder, etc. I will definitely add that feature to this bag if/when I make it. I have such an abundance of upholstery fabric I need to use up, I might try to figure out how to incorporate that into this project (my pieces are at most 17” square so I’d have to piece it). I LOVE pockets so I’d add an extra, oversized pocket to the other side of lining and divide it into two pockets. I also prefer a crossbody strap, so would make that change as well.
    Thank you so much for all your videos! I love watching them and like so many others, learn so much from you. I would never have had the gumption or ideas to try altering a tutorial to meet my needs/wants without you.🥰
    Hugs from Nevada,
    Cathy❤

But we’ve had so much rain at the beginning of this year. ☂️ Not sure whether to do a recessed zip. I might give it a go. I love how you fix things.
