I. Love. This! I have three playlists titled "Make", "Really Make", "Do This!" This is definitely going on the "Do This!" list! Thank you, Christine 🤗💖
What a great bag. This would be a perfect everyday bag and I love all the pockets. You make it look so easy to make this that I just may give it a try. Thank you for a great tutorial.
OOO...I just am finishing up a couple phone and glasses holders this morning. Now I know what I'm doing when I come back in from the second round of chores in the barn! You are an excellent teacher, and I'm so happy I found your channel. I mostly quilt, but it has been fun to put in zippers, fold things, use interfacing, for a change of pace during the long winters. Thank you for all that you do!
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Very Well! I'm usually quilting, so doing things with zippers, handles, etc., aren't things I've done in a while, so I'm having fun. With good audio books on during these rainy days. :)
I love this! Good for travel, everything you need, even a spare shirt could fit in there. And a good use of colourful themed fabrics like that. Since they're so colourful, the simple lines of the bag are a good contrast.
Christine you rock! I love watching you make things and I always enjoy the little touches of extra you do. Dual pockets, pockets in pockets, and advice. Thank you so much.
This is a super project. Thank you so much. I think I would have used a brown thread instead of cream, but I guess you used this colour for clarity. I love the multiple pockets. It would save so much rummaging around trying to find things in the bag😊
After I had finished the darts and was ready to stitch the bag together, I saw there were no instructions for how to position the Zipper! I finally decided to go to other videos you had made to see how you had done a zipper top bag! Thank you! This wasn't an easy project, but it was well worth it
That’s a crackin bag. Will make a most excellent Mother’s Day gift and I have the perfect fabric for it. Thanks again for a great show! P.S. when you did the top stitch on the zip, I thought “oh she’s not doing her usual process, I wonder how that will turn out and if you will be happy”.
Wow I love that bag . Wish me luck I'm going to try that one. Knowing me I wil be watching this video a 100 times as I go hahaha. Thank u I'm learning so much from u . Love your videos. Have a blessed weekend. ❤
This is my next make I also have cat material and those pockets are very useful. That lining material is my favourite Fusions. I cant seem to get hold of any. I have a couple of pieces waiting for just the right project. Hugs xxxx
The lining fabric was called "Flutter" and from Triple S fabric in Sydney. I just checked their website, and it looks like they only have it as a wideback now. They used to have a whole range of great colours. You could still find some at independant quilt shops😀
I love this beautiful bag. The size is very functional. I will try it soon, the steps are clear. Thanks a lot for this clearly class. You are a good and lovely teacher.😘🌹
I have been looking for a crossbody bag to carry an iPad especially for travelling. I have looked at heaps of patterns and finally, I’ve found the ideal one. Thank you so much Christine, it’s perfect. 😀🇳🇿
I know what you mean about making the zip corners squarer but I think the slight curving works well for this project because the bottom corners are curved. Thanks for the project vid
I love this bag. I love the size. I have always carried a large bag all my life so many of the crossbody bags are small. I would like to see how you do the top zippers to where the corners aren’t curved. Thank you for all your demonstrations.
That is a really beautiful bag, I am sure your mom will love it, if she doesn't I will take it. You mentioned that you do not like the rounded corners at the top of the bag, but i think they work well with the rounded corners at the bottom. It stands out in as been modernly different over the traditional square tops. Why don't you try a few of these in your shop and see what sells the best. I am going to try the one with the round corners. Cheers PS I really love the cats.
As always, I love this bag. I actually made a smaller version of this bag and just love it. I didn’t put the inside pockets but it’s lightweight and easy to handle. I think I’m going to have to make a larger one and do the rounded corners. I did some smaller zipper pouches with the rounded corners and they look so nice. Thank you again from Texas for a great design, Christine.
Oh, I want to share that I too, experienced pinking shears as difficult to use do have switched to a rotary blade type and it made a world of difference..love it!
My pinking shears are the same way. I think I would have to be a professional boxer to get a good grip to open and close them, despite being incredibly sharp...ask me how I know they're sharp, ugh! So, I just use them for small areas rather than for apparel sewing. 😅
Thank you as always - it's very late now, so off to bed, but this is on the list for the markets. Also, thanks for the info about putting the tabs front and back. I had always wondered about that. Cheers Christine.
Great bag Christine! Love it. After many years of sewing, I have slowed down a little but watching you spurs me on to sew. Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks for your enthusiasm Christine. 😊
Fabulous bag! Will you make them for the shop? I know they are more labor intensive than most of your others but think they'd be well received. If you do, at what price point would you sell them? Hugs from Nevada, Cathy❤
Tried making this bag as I love the rounded corners. When I was finished it looked like boxed corners. lol not sure where I went wrong but I am going to try again until I get it right😂
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. Thanks for the measurements of each piece at 3:11. At the end when you show how to assemble the adjustable strap with the hardware, that is so useful to know!
What a lovely bag, lots of pockets, nice size ,looks great and perfect for tablets.Thank you so much for sharing how to make this lovely bag. Are you going to make them for the shop or do they take too long?
I love this bag, but I’ve struggled making it with Denim… my straps were toooo thick and so was the inside pocket…. It’s took way too much time today, so I’m changing the strap to Webbing and have just put a slip pocket inside…. 👍
I love how your bag turned out but I was wondering if you could show how to make this using infusible foam for padding and the lining infused to the foam?
Hi Christine from the U.K. love the bag and will defo be making one! When you clip all the pieces together to sew up, which way to you push the zip to, lining or main? TIA x
I jumped the gun as you mentioned ipad at last minute of video. Thanks, great video. I would like to make a smaller version of this as I try to keep my purses smaller so I carry less and better on the shoulders. I guess I could just cut down size of body?
Thank you for these videos! I’ve learned so much just from watching them. I do have a question though. Where do you get your labels? The metal and the fabric ones. Thank you!
Hi Christine. I love the bag ( edit the cats fabric). I want to make this for my friend's birthday. She lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Crime is a concern. I need a strap material that would be very hard for a would be thief to cut. Do you have any suggestions? TIA.
I really like this bag Christine! Can you give me the finished dimensions? I need a bigger bag but think this might be a bit too big, so may have to reduce it down a bit. Thanks.
This is a beautiful bag. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to make it and how much would you sell it for, if you were going to sell it. Hugs, Diane 😘
Thanks Diane. I think it took just over an hour to make. I don't think I'd make it for the shop as there are too many elements to it to make it profitable for me. If I had it in the shop, I'd put about $65 on it😁

I think the bag is fantastic, despite the little mishape with the zipper. 😊❤
Thanks Sharon😁
I love it, great idea and can't wait to do this project.🎉

Very very nice, and the concept of putting the strap on opposite sides is really a good idea. Love this one 👏❗️

I love the multiple pockets. It would save so much rummaging around trying to find things in the bag😊
Thank you. I do tend to use a darker thread, but thought I'd like it to stand out for this one😁

What is the narrow foot you use called? All I can find are zipper feet. They are not the same.
Karin, it's called a narrow foot or narrow zipper foot specifically for industrial machines😁
I love how your bag turned out but I was wondering if you could show how to make this using infusible foam for padding and the lining infused to the foam?
Thanks Rechelle. I probably wouldn't do anything different, but I haven't worked with foam yet either😁

Have you ever used the fusible foam on your purses?
Linda, I've never used it, as I've never had any to try yet😁
Hi there just wanted to ask how much would you charge for making this bag ?? Thanks Dawn
There are too many variables to know Dawn. Currency, time it takes, fabric and hardware used, and your own personal markup😀
I am wondering what sort of foot you are using for this project?
I may have been using my narrow zipper foot, or even a teflon foot. Sometimes I'm too lazy to change😁
How about putting everything you need and fabric sizes upfront?
We each have our own way of preparing our videos Kathy. This is how I like to do it😁
Where can I get the pattern for this?
There isn't a pattern Tracie. Just the video instructions 😀
If you were to sell this purse what would you charge?
Valerie, I'd probably charge about $65 au for this one, but mum has it now😁
I'm so sorry if I missed videos. I've been sick for days.
I hope you're better soon Marie. The videos will still be here🙂
@ChristinesHomeAffairs it's been really odd and ended up in my sinuses then to my ears and I can't hear a thing and I'm dizzy.
You called this Ipad sling but didn't refer to it having to do with Ipad, but I imagine it is big enough as you made it a bigger bag?
After I finished the bag, I looked over at my Ipad and thought "I wonder if that will fit?" It did. 😁
