Oh yeah, concerning my addiction, I’ve several of those bucket bags they sell at Stephen & Penelope in Amsterdam, 2 zipped bags in Harris Tweed and a little one in yarn with a Norwegian skull pattern (lol)…. That’s it for the bag that stays mostly at home, smaller ones can be thrown in backpacks…. And i also have a Muud Stavanger to bring out big project at a terrasse, or the park, or even when travelling. Muud got excellent bags but, i think they might not be easily avaible in the US, (or are they?)

I know Joji and Co and Thread and Maple have stunning leather bags of all shapes/sizes that are great for carrying out and about as they look like regular bags, not obvious knitting bags and are sturdy. But I don’t think they have lots of organizational attached pockets though, they are separate. The luggage bags are stunning!!! I’m like you.. I’m afraid to use/wear things I’ve bought and I need to get over that as you have!

My husband was a frequent flyer to the ER with nosebleeds. Petty thief that he was, he’d arrive home with anything not locked up a the hospital. Once he brought me a long and narrow lasting bag with a solid lasting ring around the opening. It was a bag for nosebleeds and nausea. He thought it was about the size and shape of a skein, and asked if I could use it. That barf bag became my favorite project bag. The dynamics of the limp bag with a stiff rim was that the contents never fell out. I kept it in the car with my favorite scarf project. I would take it with me whenever I expected to wait. I’d through the bag on the floor or ground, and the skein was kept clean. I replaced the bag every year or so. The hospital changed vendors, and the new bags were not at all sturdy.
If you think this is silly, you just haven’t discovered barf bags yet.

I keep most of my sock projects in double layered cotton fabric sacks I made (i'm a quilter, too). My sweaters are in a series of backpacks (the school style with proper straps, 1 of which was my college bookbag) and totes, mostly 2nd hand, lol. I like backpacks for them; generally sturdy, zippers, lots of pockets, comfy shoulder straps, enough space for all 9 gazillion yards I need for my own sweaters, lol.
I get back to all my projects sooner or later. Usually later, lol, Well, I never finished Dad's sweater; he died suddenly several years ago and I gifted the yarn to a friend who knits squares from some charity or other.

Hello Mark. Thank you so much for this video. It’s nice to find a video showcasing project bags for knitting (or crochet). I absolutely fell in love with your spinning loft hikers bag. If I could have reached into the screen and snatched it, I would have. Except that would’ve made you sad. I was able to go to the etsy shop order that bag, as it was still being offered. It arrived today and I’m so pleased. Thank you for your thorough review. It helped me decide. And how lucky am I that that hikers fabric was still available. I did message and let her know that I saw the bag on your channel. 😊

Hello from Toronto. I like my bag by 65 south which has several pockets and stands up on its own. I added a button and loop for a closure which helps to keep my tabby Emma out of my knitting. I also like bags by Atenti which are elegant with lots of pockets inside. For travel I take a Sportsac bag as thy zip up (I usually avoid knitting bags with zippers as they get caught in my yarn) and they are washable.

Hi Mark, I enjoyed your video very much today. I too have quite a collection of bags I have gathered over the years. I love having something useful and pretty to carry my projects in when I go out for the day. I also enjoy having unique little zip ups and canisters to hold my notions. I started collecting beautiful beaded jewelry-like stitch markers a few years ago and have quite a collection. I find there are a lot of artists on Etsy making all kinds of interesting stitch markers. I also collect unusually decorated metal, Altoid mint size, tins. They come in handy for so many different things. I love to both knit and crochet. I have been crocheting for about 45 years, and started knitting about 15 years ago. I enjoy your channel very much, you are very informative, calm and relaxing to watch and I look forward to each new video.

Do you ever watch Jonathan's Days? He buys a beautiful canvas bags with leather straps. Durable and they travel well. Hide and Hammer is the brand. I also love Stitching in the High Notes. Joanna is a retired opera singer who now makes and sells bags for crafting - I've bought a couple for gifts and they are quite well made. As a knitter, she knows what we need and while not next door, she is in Sacramento so by our standards out here, that's 'local'! LOL - pretty kitties by the way.

I enjoyed seeing all of your bags. I remember buying a Namaste rust colored bag back in the day. It was circular and tall and had all of these tiny needle pockets all around it. It was a remake of a vintage leather knitting bag. Anyway, it started to just peel and crumble and make the biggest mess.
I want that kind of bag! In leather.

I’m a minimalist I guess, I can’t see the point of a dedicated project babe 🤷‍♀️ though there are many to chose from. I like a silky inside of a bag so projects slide in and out easily. I tend to use grocery chain reusable bags but seldom have more than 2 on the go at the same time, only have 2-3 WIPs at the same time. I love the red lace cords - they make knitting a joy and really make magic loop do-able. Yes this was a long video but I like listening to you and it’s easy to knit to a longer video. And - OMG - you met the Pope 😱. Wow. Love your cats too and that you love them. Good humans love pets 🐈‍⬛🤩

I have tons of bags, big and small. Choosing a bag to carry a project in for a trip to my local yarn shop or to visit a friend is fun. Rotating the use of each bag is of some importance to me. Letting a bag sit at the back of a collection makes me feel that bag would not feel loved (you know, don't all bags have feelings!?! LOL) so I try to use all of the bags I have regularly. I have canvas/leather bags, fabric drawstring bags, bucket bags and many other types. The variety of bags breaks up the monotony of using the same bag over and over. Thanks Mark for showing all of your bags/totes. You have some really beautiful ones and the variety is marvelous.

but i have since upgraded to the chiagoo metal needles so i regifted the set to a newer knitter who loves them.

I love your video, got tons of organizing ideas!
Btw the knitpro needles are not bamboo, they're birch (I happen to know because those are my main set of needles and I'm obsessed with them haha - I'm the other way around, I started with stainless steel needles and used those for decades. I switched to wood because they are less slippery so it is easier to keep the rest of the stitches on the needles so I don't have to think about that when I'm knitting faster.)

The streamline luggage is very cool. One of my most favorite bags to carry my knitting while traveling g is the LLBean zip top boat and tote bag. It’s very roomy. It Has a separate snap section inside that’s big enough to hold your pattern without folding it plus notions. I also love that the straps fit over my shoulder. For me it’s a great trade project bag. For everyday knitting at home or my LYS I prefer to use baskets. I have a nice collection of Longaberger baskets I’ve resurrected from the dust. Your field sweater is beautiful. Love the two tones. Happy knitting.

No you’re not putting out boring content! I enjoyed your bags. We have 2 of the same bags. I love my little cork zip pouch and pink monstera make up bag. We also have the same style brown canvas bag with leather side handles. Great minds think alike and like the same bags!

Love this!! I was a bag girl before I was a fiber crafter- always loved a gift that came in a cute bag- but combining my love of both has me obsessed with functional bags and this video is amazing! I am always on the hunt as well- probably one of my most researched queries. Would love to know more about your yarn socks/ cozies and other solutions for keeping cakes intact when throwing them in bags. That's still a work in progress for me. Thanks for the unique and fun video- your content is so relatable!!

As a fellow cat enthusiast/cat hair hater I definitely feel your pain! I love Hide and Hammer bags, they are fairly fur resistant (I find really heavily waxed canvas or oil cloth to be a cat fur magnet) excellent quality, made with organization in mind, and very well crafted! I love that I can scrunch them in another bag or fold down the top and use it as a knitting bowl. Your Field sweater looks fabulous on you - I’ve been considering it, but heard some less than stellar reviews on the pattern - did you find it clear and easy enough to follow?

This video is so fun! I love seeing other people’s ideas. The waxed bag with the ice cream coupons had some panda stitch markers or something in the bottom. Just in case you were looking for them. 😉

Not boring at all! I love bags and, like you, am on the hunt for the perfect project bag. I love Tannei Casey Handmade bags - extremely well made in a variety of fabrics. They're sturdy and lined with pockets and I have about 6 or so. I've also purchased a whopping amount of fabric hoping to design the absolutely perfect project bag but haven't started on that endeavor yet.

Okay I spent the whole video wondering if you’d remember about the bags that don’t count 😅
But I totally feel you about being a lefty and finding notions that work. For me it’s scissors, it’s the hardest thing to find.

Nice run down. I have a Heidi West bag that I love for larger projects. She prints her own fabrics and this one stays open, kind of like a Dopp kit or doctor’s bag.

When i was starting I also loved the wooden knit pro symphonie needles.. I used them a lot, but then unfortunately noticed that after a while, the cables come apart from where they attach to the metal. :/ Still have some tips lying around though, they are so pretty!
