    I can relate to your experience with the wildfires. It’s an experience which will take a long time to properly heal from. I nearly lost my daughter in severe bushfires in the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia 10 years ago. The devastation was hard to comprehend, many of her neighbours lost everything they owned and only had the clothes they were wearing on that day. Recovering from such a scary, devastating and life changing event takes years to heal fully. Best wishes for a healing for you and your family. Love your knits and sewing as well ❤🇦🇺💐

    Enjoyed your podcast. So glad you and your family are safe. I live in British Columbia in Canada and we constantly live in fear of forest fires in the summer. At this time we have fires all around us but thankfully nothing really close. We pray for those that have been devastated by fires (Jasper Alberta) 😢 I’m working on the Celeste Sweater by Petite Knits: I love colour work.

    What an interesting podcast that is! And a discovery for me.
    Your advice and explanations on uncertainty and how to deal with it is illuminating. It is so true. I am 75 years old and I’ve applied these coping mechanisms through my life’s ups and downs and it truly helps. I’m sure it will be useful for many. Thank you!

    I had to evacuate from our family home 2 years ago. We were out of our house for two and a half weeks and I remember having daily breakdowns over something I forgot to bring with us. It was one of the hardest things I have ever been through and my community was extremely lucky and very few houses were lost. Thank you for sharing your story and all the emotions that come with it. ❤

    I’m so glad that you and your family made it though the wildfires safely. It is so, so hard to see the places we lived ravaged by fires or storms. Your attitude is very inspiring. The land needs time to heal but so do the folks who call it home. 💗💗💗

    I just found your podcast and subscribed. I think your sweater and dress are so lovely and inspiring. I hope to learn to sew a skirt or dress for myself soon. I also love how you lean into your social work side with the knitting. I resonated with what you were sharing about the wildfires. We had a wildfire near our house fall 2020 and it was traumatizing. I appreciate you sharing how hard that is and not apologizing for it.

    Thank you for sharing your holistic approach to life, not only in embracing all the joy and strife, but also how you do so with your entire being--the physical, emotional, and creative. I strongly believe all three are necessary to allow true healing. Your plight rings close to my heart, as we live in Tampa directly on the Bay and have faced evacuation due to major hurricanes. Thankfully, we've dodged serious damage, but know that heart-in-your-throat feeling during the disaster too well. May you and your family continue to recover and thrive.

    Love your sweater! Ranch Romance is a favorite color of mine also-I’ve made a Sophie scarf but would love a whole sweater.
    So happy you and your family are safe❤️I spent many summers in Ruidoso when I was younger, and it’s always been special to me. My husband and I had actually booked a cabin to visit the day the fires broke out-we had no idea until that night how horrible things were-and now the flooding. All this to say we have been keeping up with the news and praying for everyone. Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏❤️

    This was a miraculous discovery of your channel. I am so sorry for all the damage and destruction in your community and for all the upheavals that you and your family have faced/are facing. Nevertheless, you mastered the presentation. I especially appreciate the words of counsel for times that are unsettled and uncomfortable. I would guess that all your subscribers/viewers can relate. Of course, I am also inspired by your version of Framed. To be honest, the smaller amount of ease in your version really appeals to me.

    I am sorry about your experience with the wildfire, how scary, truly!
    I love both your "framed" sweaters, very cool colors. 👍
    Uncertainty. My husband was just diagnosed with Parkinson's. I have had to quit my job and become his full-time caregiver and advocate. He has been admitted, into ICU, six times since March 12th this year. I have few precious moments for self care each day and I use that for knitting, cooking and (gasp) housecleaning. Those are my anchors for now. I am sure as the disease progresses I will lean into other anchors.

      @edmistoncreations Thank you. On the REALLY positive side, I laugh when stressed, so there's lots of laughter. We have either good or great days, no bad ones, and each day is an adventure. Not one we would have chosen, but we're in it together, and that's what really matters in the end.

    I'm so glad that you and your family are well. After the fire and you returned from N.C., were you able to visit the house? I can imagine there was smoke damage but maybe you were able to retrieve more things? Like your son's favorite Halloween board book? I'm curious, what book was this? All the best, going forward. (Btw, your athletic background is SO impressive.)

      @@shamszakhour6076 First, thank you for your support and for the kind things you said! ❤️‍🩹 We were able to check on our house, but couldn’t be in it for very long without getting a headache or not feeling well because of the smoke damage. For that reason, we have not taken items from our home so they could be cleaned or replaced properly by a professional company that does that sort of thing.
      I still have not found my son’s board book. 😢 I hope to find it when we can get back home, or if we have to replace it, order another. I tried to look it up but I can’t remember the title of the book, just the “story” my son would read out loud. ❤️‍🩹

      @@eirecoleen Hi! I also prefer colorwork in the round, so I understand your hesitancy! Andrea has talked about on her channel that you could add steek columns for the armholes if you prefer to knit this in the round. I would not be able to give specifics on how to do that, but if you’re experienced with steeking and feel comfortable modifying the pattern to knit in the round then I say go for it!! ❤️ you could check out Andrea’s RUclips for more details on her feedback if that helps! Can’t wait to see your Framed. 💃🏽

      @@nicolepantojas Thank you, Nicole! ❤️ we are fortunate to be safe. The Orchard’s Dress is not difficult, I would say. You need gathering skills, know how to do buttonholes. The collar can be a little fiddly… but just be patient and follow each step one at a time and you’ll be good to go! I hand sewed some of the inside of the collar down also, where my machine wasn’t catching the folded under seam allowance.
